FUNCTION AND PURPOSE
This unit is intended to contact-grill foods in commercial foodservice operations only. It is not intended for household, industrial, or laboratory use.
This sandwich grill is a medium-duty appliance capable of a wide variety of applications. The temperature is thermostatically controlled to a range between 125 °F (52 °C) — 575 °F (300 °C) for single and dual models and 125 °F (52 °C) — 500 °F (260 °C) for the super-size model. A Ready Light adjacent to the Thermostat Control Dial indicates when the plates have reached the set temperature.
UNPACKING AND INITIAL SETUP
When no longer needed, dispose of all packaging and materials in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Remove packing material, tape, and protective plastic.
- Clean any glue residue left over from the plastic or tape.
- Wash grill plates to remove machine oil from manufacturing. See Cleaning Section.
- Place the unit in desired location.
- To avoid damage, only plug unit into a properly grounded electrical supply matching the nameplate voltage.
- For cast-iron models only — season the grill plates.
A. Rub cooking oil into plates with a clean, lint-free cloth.
B. Heat grill to 400 °F (204 °C) and maintain temperature for 10–15 minutes; it is normal for the plates to smoke.
