How to install the Vevor CHQ03-07 catalytic converter?

Installation must be done by a professional. Place the vehicle on a lift, remove the old converter, install the new one with the provided gaskets and washers, then tighten the bolts. The installation is direct without modification.

Why is there white smoke after installation?

The white smoke comes from the anti-rust oil present on the converter. Under the effect of heat, it evaporates. This phenomenon is normal and disappears after about 30 minutes of use.

A burnt smell comes from the exhaust, is this normal?

Yes, it is normal. The fireproof cotton wrapping the ceramic substrate burns during the first use. The smell disappears after about 50 kilometers.

Is this converter compatible with my Honda Accord 2005 EX 2.4L?

Yes, the CHQ03-07 model is compatible with Honda Accord DX/EX/LX 2.4L L4 from 2003 to 2007, including the 2005 EX.

Can I use this converter in California?

No, this converter is not compliant with California CARB standards. Its use there is illegal. It is compliant with federal OBD III standards.

What is the OBD III standard?

OBD III (On-Board Diagnostics) is an onboard diagnostic standard that monitors emissions. This converter complies with it, ensuring no MIL error code appears, except in California.

What materials are used?

WARNING:

After receiving our product, you need to find a repair shop to put the car on a lift, then remove the old catalytic converter, install the new catalytic converter in its original position, and install the gasket and washer, tighten the screws! You can now drive and use it normally!

After installing the catalyst, the following two situations will occur, both of which are normal phenomena!

Firstly, the surface of the catalytic converter is coated with rust-proof oil. After the car starts and the catalytic converter reaches high temperature, the rust-proof oil on the surface will evaporate due to heat, and white smoke will emerge. After 30 minutes of use, it will disappear on its own. This is a normal phenomenon, please do not worry!

Secondly, after the installation of the new catalyst, when the car starts, a burnt odor will be emitted from the exhaust gas. This is because the ceramic carrier part of the catalyst's internal structure is wrapped in a fireproof cotton with transparent tape, also known as an insulation cotton pad. It wraps around the ceramic carrier, and the transparent gelatin belt will burn when exposed to high temperatures. At this time, the exhaust pipe will discharge this odor, so you smell a burnt odor! It will disappear on its own after using about 50 kilometers; this is a normal phenomenon! Don't worry!

Friendly Note: This part cannot be used for California-registered vehicles. (Due to the increased emissions standards, this converter is NOT legal for use in CA.)
