- To avoid a hazard due to instability of the unit, it must be fixed according to the instructions.

- When setting up the device, make sure that the power cord is not pinched or damaged.

- Make sure that there are no multiple sockets or power supply units on the back of the device.

- Make sure that the ventilation openings in the housing of the unit or in the built-in cabinet are not blocked.

- Do not use mechanical devices or other means to speed up the defrosting process unless they are expressly recommended by the manufacturer.

• The refrigerant circuit must not be damaged.

- Do not use electrical appliances in the beverage cooling compartments of the appliance unless they are specifically recommended by the manufacturer.

- Do not store explosive substances in the unit, such as spray cans with flammable propellant.

- This appliance is intended for use in households and similar environments. These include:

  • Staff kitchens in shops, offices and other work environments
  • Farms, hotels, motels and other residential establishments
  • Pensions that offer breakfast (Bed & Breakfasts)
  • Catering and similar non-retail applications

• Children aged 3 to 8 may fill refrigerators with food and remove food.

To avoid contamination of food, please follow the instructions below:

  • Opening the door for too long can cause a significant temperature rise in the compartments of the appliance.
  • Regularly clean surfaces that may come into contact with drinks. Clean the water drain regularly.
  • Clean the water tanks (if present) if they have not been used for 48 hours. Flush the water system connected to a water supply (if any) if no water has been drawn for 5 days.
  • If you are not using the refrigerator for a longer period of time, switch it off, let it defrost, clean it and dry it. Leave the door open to prevent mould from forming in the appliance.

Note: This unit contains the refrigerant Isobutane (R600a), a natural gas that has high environmental compatibility, but is fl ammable. Although it is fl ammable, it does not damage the ozone layer or increase the greenhouse effect. The use of this refrigerant results in a slightly higher noise level of the unit. In addition to the compressor noise, you can hear the flow of refrigerant. This is unavoidable and has no negative effect on the performance of the device. Be careful during transport to avoid damage to the refrigerant circuit. Refrigerant leaks can irritate the eyes.

Klarstein Vinamour 46 Uno - SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS - 1

GETTING STARTED

Plug in and switch on the cellar by pressing on the power button for a few seconds. When you use the wine cellar for the first time (or restart the wine cellar after having it shut off for a long time), there will be a few degrees variance between the temperature you have selected and the one indicated on the LED readout. This is normal and it is due to the length of the activation time. Once the wine cellar is running for a few hours everything will stabilize.

Note: If the unit is unplugged, power is lost, or turned off, wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting the unit. The wine cellar will not start if you attempt to restart before this time delay.

Operating Noises

To reach the desired temperature settings, wine cellars, like all wine cellars operating with compressors and fans, may produce the following types of noises. These noises are normal and may occur as follows:

  • Gurgling sound - caused by the refrigerant flowing through the appliance's coils.
  • Cracking/popping sounds - resulting from the contraction and expansion of the refrigerant gas to produce cold.
    • Fan operating sound - to circulate the air within the wine cellar.

Loading the Wine Cellar

  • You may load your wine bottles in single or double rows while taking note of the following: if you do not have enough bottles to fill your wine cellar, it is better to distribute the load throughout the wine cellar so as to avoid "all on top" or "all below" type loads.
  • Do remove or relocate adjustable wooden shelves to accommodate larger type of bottles or increase the capacity of the cellar by stacking the bottles up when necessary. (See removing shelves)
  • Keep smalls gap between the walls and the bottles to allow air circulation. Like an underground cellar air circulation is important to prevent mould and for a better homogeneous temperature within the cellar.
  • Do not over load your wine cellar to facilitate air circulation.
  • Avoid obstructing the internal fans (located inside on the back panel of the wine cellar).
  • Do not slide the shelves outwards beyond the fixed position to prevent the bottles from falling.
  • Do not pull out more than one loaded shelf at a time as this may cause the wine cellar to tilt forward.
  • Do not cover the wooden shelves with alloy foil or other materials, as it will obstruct air circulation.
  • Do not move your wine cellar while it is loaded with wines. This might distort the body of the wine cellar and cause back injury.

Notes on Temperature Regulation

Please note that depending on the loading and settings chosen it takes about 24 hours for the wine cellar to see the temperature stabilizing. During this time LED seems to move erratically in particular, It is normal and this process occurs whenever the setting is modified and/or whenever a large amount of bottles are added to the cellar.

These wine cellars reproduce the ideal conditions for wine storage, at a constant recommended temperature of 12 °C. T Unless stated by the wine maker on the bottle, We recommends 7 °C for your champagne, 12 °C for whites and 18 °C for reds.

Temperature Settings

Note: The LED displays by default the actual internal air temperature. In the event of a power interruption, all previous temperature settings are automatically erased and it will revert to the preset temperature settings.

The electrical board of all models comes with memory function. It is important to understand that there is a difference between the air temperature inside the wine cellar and the actual temperature of the wine: You will need to wait approximately 12 hours before noticing the effects of temperature adjustment due to the critical mass within a full wine cellar.

Once the temperature is set, it is strongly advised not to toy with it or adjust frequently. The thermostat will maintain the temperature inside the wine cellar within a +/- 2.5 °C range. But the thermal inertia of the wine and the glass is such that within this temperature range, the actual temperature of the wine will only fluctuate 0.5 °C to 1 °C.

Switching between ^ C and ^ F

You can switch between °F and °C in the temperature display by pressing key (7).

Key Lock

- The device is equipped with an automatic key lock. This function prevents unwanted changes to your settings.

- The key lock is automatically activated 12 seconds after the last key is pressed on the control panel.

- To unlock the control panel, press and hold both arrow keys (10 & 11) for 3 seconds. The control panel beeps and flashes once to indicate that it is active again and the settings can be changed.

Setting the Temperature

Use the arrow keys to increase or decrease the temperature. The temperature increases/decreases by 1^ C/ 1^ F each time the button is pressed.

Note: When you use the wine cooler for the first time or switch it back on after a long period of time, the temperature set by you and the temperature shown on the display may differ. This is normal and is because the wine cooler takes a while to cool down the bottles.

Storage Capacity

You can store about 48 standard bottles in the device. Since many bottles differ in size and dimensions, the actual number of bottles you can store may vary. The bottle capacities are approximate values based on the size of a traditional Bordeaux bottle (750 ml).

Interior Lighting

Press the light button (6) to turn on the light. Press the button again to turn off the light.

CLEANING AND CARE

Cleaning the Unit

  • First switch off the unit and disconnect the power plug from the socket. Remove the entire contents.
  • Wash the interior with a damp cloth dipped in lukewarm water with a little detergent.

  • The exterior of the wine refrigerator should be cleaned with a mild detergent.
    • Dry the inside and outside with a soft cloth.
  • Dust and anything else that blocks the exhaust air openings will reduce the cooling capacity of the unit. If necessary, suck off the exhaust air opening.

Shutdown in absentia

  • Turn off the unit first. Then disconnect the power plug.
  • Remove the entire contents.
  • Clean the unit.
  • Keep the lid open slightly to prevent condensation, mould or odours.

Installation at another Location

  • Turn off the unit first. Disconnect the power plug.
  • Remove the entire contents.
  • Secure all loose objects with adhesive tape.
  • Tape the doors shut.
