2. Intended purpose
The rotary shaver is intended exclusively for cutting human hair. Only use the device for dry hair.
The device is designed for private home use and must not be used for commercial purposes. The device must only be used indoors.
Foreseeable misuse

- Do not use the device to cut artificial hair or animal hair.
3. Safety instructions
Warnings
If necessary, the following warnings will be used in these user instructions:

DANGER! High risk: failure to observe this warning may result in injury to life and limb.
WARNING! Moderate risk: failure to observe this warning may result in injury or serious material damage.
CAUTION: low risk: failure to observe this warning may result in minor injury or material damage.
NOTE: circumstances and specifics that must be observed when handling the device.
Instructions for safe operation
- This device can be used by children from the age of 8 and people with restricted physical, sensory or intellectual abilities or people without adequate experience and/ or understanding, if they are supervised or instructed on how to use this device safely and if they are aware of the resulting hazards. Children must not play with the device. Cleaning and maintenance by the user must not be performed by children without supervision.
- Keep children under the age of 8 away from the device and the power cable.
This symbol indicates that you can clean the shaver under running water. DANGER! Disconnect the device from the plug-in power unit prior to doing so. Only use the included original power unit for mains operation.
WARNING!
- Keep the power unit and the cable dry!
- The hand-held part must be disconnected from the cable of the power unit before it is cleaned with water.

DANGER for children
- Children must not play with packing material. Do not allow children to play with plastic bags. There is a risk of suffocation.
- Keep the device out of the reach of children.

DANGER to and from pets and livestock
Electrical devices can represent a hazard to pets and livestock. In addition, animals can also cause damage to the device. For this reason you should keep animals away from electrical devices at all times.

DANGER! Risk of electric shock due to moisture
These safety instructions apply to the power unit and the device connected to the power unit. In battery mode, the shaver is protected against strong jets of water (protection type IPX6), but must not be immersed in water.
- Do not use this device in the vicinity of bathtubs, showers, washbasins or other vessels containing water.
- Protect the device from moisture, water drops and water splashes.
- Never touch the device with wet hands.
- The device, the cable and the power unit must not fall into water or other liquids and must not be rinsed under running water.
- If the device has fallen into water, pull out the power unit immediately, and only then remove the device from the water. Do not use the device again, but have this checked by a specialist.

Should liquid enter the device, have it checked before starting the device up again.

If the device is used in a bathroom, the power unit must be pulled out after use, as the proximity of water represents a hazard, even when the device is switched off.
- Installation of a residual current device (FI/ RCD) with a rated residual operating current of no more than 30 mA is recommended to provide additional protection. Ask your electrician for advice. The installation should only be carried out by a qualified electrician.

DANGER! Risk of electric shock
- Never put the device into operation if there are visible damages to the device, the power unit or the cable or if the device has been dropped before.
- Connect the cable to the device before plugging the power unit into a wall socket.
- Only connect the power unit to a properly installed, easily accessible wall socket, the voltage of which corresponds to the specifications on the rating plate. The wall socket must continue to be easily accessible after the device is plugged in.
- Ensure that the cable cannot be damaged by sharp edges or hot surfaces.
- Ensure that the cable is not trapped or crushed.
- When removing the power unit from the wall socket, always pull the power unit and never the cable.

- To avoid any risk, do not make modifications to the device. Repairs must be carried out by a specialist workshop or the Service Centre.

DANGER from batteries
- Protect the battery against mechanical damages. Fire hazard!
- Do not expose the device to direct sunshine or heat. The ambient temperature should not be lower than -10 °C and higher than +40 °C.
- The charge contacts on the device must not be connected by metallic objects.
- The battery may only be charged with the original accessory (power unit).
- Should the electrolyte solution leak out of the battery, avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes and skin. Rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and consult a doctor. The electrolyte solution can cause irritation.

- This device must not be opened!
- The device with the installed battery must be disposed of properly.

- The points of the beard trimmer attachment are sharp. Handle with care.
- Do not use the device if the attachment shows damages.
- Switch off the device before pinning up or changing the attachments and each time before cleaning.

- Place the cable in such a way that no one trips over it or steps on it.
- Do not use the device on open wounds, cuts, sunburn or blisters.

- Use the original accessories only.
- Never place the device on hot surfaces (e.g. hot plates) or near heat sources or open fire.
- Do not cover the power unit to prevent overheating.
- The blade unit of the shaving attachment can be cleaned using water. Do not use any other liquids.
- Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents.

NOTES:
- Before the device is used for the first time, and during the following three charging procedures, the device should be charged for 90 minutes in each case.
- The capacity/ charging state of the battery 10 is displayed in percent (00, 05, 10, ..., 100% in increments of 5%).
- When the batteries are almost empty, the plug symbol 11 flashes in red. The device can then only be used for a short time without being connected to the electricity supply.
- It takes about 5 minutes to charge the device sufficiently for one shave.

When the battery is fully charged, the device can be used for approximately 60 minutes without being connected to the power supply.
-
Switch off the device with the on/off switch 9 if necessary.
- Connect the power unit 19 to the connection 14 at the device.
- Insert the power unit 19 into a readily accessible wall socket whose voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating plate.
- The plug symbol 11 is lit red and the battery is charged. When the battery is fully charged, 100% is displayed. When the battery is fully charged, the device can be used for approximately 60 minutes without being connected to the power supply.
6. Operation
6.1 Before switching on for the first time
CAUTION:
- After unpacking, there could still be oil residues on the shaving heads 4 of the shaving attachment 5. Remove these with an absorbent, lint-free cloth before using the device for the first time.
Regardless of the charging state of the battery, the rotary shaver can always be used in mains operation.
- Before switching to mains operation, ensure that the device is switched off.
- Connect the power unit 19 to the connection 14 at the device.
- Insert the power unit 19 into a readily accessible wall socket whose voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating plate.
- Figure A: push the protective cap 15 downwards off the shaving attachment 5.
- Switch on the device with the on/off switch 9.
6.2 Transport lock
If the transport lock is activated, the lock symbol 12 flashes.
- Press and hold the on/ off switch 9 for approx. 4 seconds, in order to switch the transport lock on/ off.
- Connecting the power unit 19 deactivates the transport lock, which cannot be activated during mains operation.
6.3 Changing the shaving/ beard trimmer attachment
WARNING! Risk of injury!
- Switch off the shaver 8, before you attach or remove the attachments.
- Figure A: slide the protective cap 15 onto the shaving attachment 5 from below, with the opening first.
- Figure B: remove the attachment 3 or 5 from the shaver 8.
- Figure B: insert the guide (see dotted line) of the attachments 3 or 5 into the recess of the motor unit for attachments 7, and press the attachment onto the shaver 8 until it audibly clicks firmly into place.
6.4 Pushing on/ removing the comb attachment
WARNING! Risk of injury!
- Switch off the device before replacing or changing a comb attachment 1.
Pushing on
- In order to attach the comb attachment 1, push it over the guide rails on the side of the device onto the beard trimmer attachment 3, until it is heard to click into place.
Removing
- Push the comb attachment 1 upwards using a moderate amount of force. The comb attachment 1 separates from the beard trimmer attachment 3.
- Remove the comb attachment 1.
6.5 Shaving

DANGER! Risk of electric shock due to moisture!
- The shaver 8 and the power unit 19 are not waterproof and are therefore not allowed to be used in a shower/ bath.
WARNING!
- Do not use the device on open wounds, cuts, sunburn or blisters.
- Do not place excessive pressure on the shaving heads 4. They are thin and can be damaged easily.
NOTES:
- Shaving is possible both in battery mode and in mains operation.
- Initial use may cause temporary irritation or redness of the skin, as the skin has to adjust to shaving. This is normal and usually lasts between 2 to 4 weeks.
Dry shaving (Rechargeable battery and mains operation)
- Hold the blade unit 4 parallel to the surface of the skin, and gently move it over your face using circular motions.
- Shave against the direction of your beard growth.
- Stretch your skin in complicated areas, such as the chin, to achieve better results.
- Switch off the device after shaving, clean the parts carefully (Chapter "Cleaning and care" on page 17) and to protect the shaving heads 4, slide the protective cap 15 onto the shaving attachment 5 from below.
Wet shaving (only for battery operation)

DANGER! Risk of electric shock!
- The hand-held device and the power unit 19 are not water-proof. Wet shaving is only allowed when using battery power.
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
- For wet shaving use shaving foam or lather only; never use shaving gel or shaving cream. This could adhere to the shaving heads 4.
- Before shaving, smooth a thin layer of shaving foam on your face.
- Shave your face as described in the chapter Dry shaving (Rechargeable battery and mains operation).
- If shaving foam should clog the blade unit with the shaving heads 4, clean the blade unit under running water (Chapter "Cleaning and care" on page 17).
6.6 Cutting hairlines and beard
WARNING! Risk of injury!
- The points of the beard trimmer attachment 3 are sharp. Handle with care.
• Figure C: adjust the cutting length at the comb attachment 1 according to the desired hair length. Read the cutting length on the side of the comb attachment 1 at the marking 2. The arrow symbol ▲ 16 indicates which cutting length is set. Now, shorten your beard step-by-step.
NOTE: ensure that the comb attachment 1 is still firmly attached to the device after adjustment.
- Use the device only with the beard trimmer attachment 3 and without comb attachment 1, to cut beard and hairline. In this way you can cut hair lengths of 1-2 mm evenly.
7. Cleaning and care

DANGER! Risk of electric shock!
- The hand-held part must be disconnected from the cable of the power unit before it is cleaned with water.
WARNING! Risk of injury!
- Always switch off the device before cleaning it.
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
- The blade unit 4 of the shaving attachment 5 can be cleaned using water. Do not use any other liquids.
- Do not use any astringent or abrasive cleaning agents.
NOTE: clean the device after every use.
7.1 Shaver
- Wipe down the housing of the shaver 8 with a damp cloth.
7.2 Shaving attachment / blade unit
Dry cleaning of the shaving attachment
- Clean the 3 shaving heads 4 after each shave using the cleaning brush 20.
- Press the release button 6 on the shaving attachment 5, so that the blade unit 4 opens.
- Carefully tap the blade unit 4 to empty it.
- Remove the hair remnants by using the cleaning brush 20.
Wet cleaning of the blade unit
The shaving heads 4 of the shaving attachment 5 can be cleaned with water.
- Press the release button 6 on the shaving attachment 5, so that the blade unit 4 opens.
- Clean the blade unit 4 under running water. Allow the water to flow through the shaving heads 4 from the inside to the outside.
- Allow the parts to dry completely.
- Close the blade unit 4, so that it clicks into place.
Thorough cleaning of the blade unit
An integrated timer in the device adds up shaving times. After a shaving period of 30 minutes, the cleaning symbol 13 starts flashing. It reminds you of the thorough cleaning that you should regularly perform. If you switch off the device while the cleaning symbol is flashing, the timer will start counting shaving times again from the beginning.

Press the release button 6 on the shaving attachment 5, so that the blade unit 4 opens.

Figure D: pull the blade unit 4 off the shaving attachment 5 by overextending it.

Figure E: carefully turn the locking wheel 17 marked with arrows against the direction of the arrows, until the holder of the shaving heads 18 can be lifted off.

Clean all parts under running water, and then allow them to dry completely.

Reassemble the blade unit 4.
-
Figure F: carefully turn the locking wheel 17 in the direction of the arrows, until the holder of the shaving heads 18 can no longer be lifted off.

Push the blade unit 4 and the shaving attachment 5 back together and close the blade unit 4, so that it clicks into place.
- Push the shaving attachment 5 back onto the shaver 8, and ensure that it clicks firmly into place.
NOTE: for thorough cleaning, an ultrasonic bath is recommended.
7.3 Beard trimmer attachment
- Remove the comb attachment 1. Rinse the comb attachment 1 with water and let it dry before reattaching it to the device.
- Remove the hair remnants from the beard trimmer attachment 3 by using the cleaning brush 20 included in the delivery.
- Every 6 months or so, apply a few drops of oil to the cutting edge of the beard trimmer attachment 3. Using a soft, lint-free cloth, wipe off the surplus oil, if necessary. Only use acid-free oil, such as e.g. sewing machine oil.
8. Disposal
The battery integrated into this device must not be disposed of in household waste. The device must be disposed of properly with the battery installed. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2012/19/EC. The symbol showing a wheelie bin crossed through indicates that the product requires separate refuse collection in the European Union. This applies to the product and all accessories marked with this symbol. Products identified with this symbol may not be discarded with normal household waste, but must be taken to a collection point for recycling electric and electronic appliances. Recycling helps to reduce the consumption of raw materials and protect the environment.

9. Troubleshooting

12. Warranty of the HOYER Handel GmbH
Dear Customer,
your device is provided with a 3 year warranty starting with the purchase date. In the event of product defects, you are entitled to statutory rights against the vendor. These statutory rights are not restricted by our warranty presented in the following.
Warranty conditions
The warranty period starts with the purchase date. Please keep the original purchase receipt in a safe place. This document is required to verify the purchase.
If within three years from the purchase date of this product a material or factory defect occurs, the product will be repaired or replaced by us – at our discretion – free of charge to you. This warranty implies that within the period of three years the defective device and the purchase receipt are presented, including a brief written description of the defect and the time it occurred.
If the defect is covered by our warranty, the repaired or a new product will be returned to you. No new warranty period starts with a repair or replacement of the product.
Warranty period and statutory claims for defects
The warranty period is not extended when the warranty has been claimed. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. Any damages and defects already existing at the time of purchase must be reported immediately upon unpacking. Repairs arising after the expiration of the warranty period are subject to a charge.
Warranty coverage
The device was produced carefully according to strict quality guidelines and tested diligently prior to delivery.
The warranty applies to material or factory defects.
Excluded from the warranty are wear parts subject to normal wear and damages to fragile parts, e.g. switches, batteries, lamps or other parts manufactured from glass.
This warranty expires if the product is damaged, not used as intended or not serviced. For the proper operation of the product, all instructions listed in the operating instructions must be observed carefully. Any form of use and handling that is advised against in the operating instructions or warned against must always be avoided.
The product is only intended for private and not for commercial use. In the case of incorrect and improper treatment, use of force and interventions not performed by our authorised Service Centre, the warranty shall cease.
Handling in case of a warranty claim
In order to ensure prompt processing of your matter, please observe the following notes:
- Please keep the article number IAN: 306408 and the purchase receipt as a purchase verification for all inquiries.
- The article number can be found on the rating plate, an engraving, the title page of your instructions (in the bottom left), or as a label on the rear or underside of the device.
