ABOUT BLOOD PRESSURE
1. What is blood pressure?
Blood pressure is the force exerted by blood against the walls of the arteries. Systolic pressure occurs when the heart contracts. Diastolic pressure occurs when the heart expands.
Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg).
One's natural blood pressure is represented by the fundamental pressure, which is measured first thing in the morning while one is still at rest and before eating.
2. What is hypertension and how is it controlled?
Hypertension, an abnormally high arterial blood pressure, if left unattended, can cause many health problems including stroke and heart attack. Hypertension can be controlled by altering lifestyle, avoiding stress and with medication under a doctor's supervision.
To prevent hypertension or keep it under control:
- Do not smoke
- Reduce salt and fat intake
- Maintain proper weight
• Exercise regularly
• Have regular physical checkups
3. Why measure blood pressure at home?
Blood pressure measured at a clinic or doctor's office may cause apprehension and produce an elevated reading, 25 to 30 mmHg higher than that measured at home, Home measurement reduces the effects of outside influences on blood pressure readings, supplements the doctor's readings and provides a more accurate, complete blood pressure history.
4. WHO blood pressure classification
Standards for assessment of high blood pressure, without regard to age, have been established by the World Health Organization (WHO), and shown in chart below.

bar
| Diastolic blood pressure | systolic blood pressure | | ------------------------ | ----------------------- | | Optimal | 120 | | Normal | 130 | | High-normal | 140 | | Grade 1 hypertension (mild) | 160 | | Grade 2 hypertension (moderate) | 170 | | Grade 3 hypertension (severe) | 180 |5. Blood pressure variations
An individual's blood pressure varies greatly on a daily and seasonal basis. It may vary by 30 to 50 mmHg due to various conditions during the day. In phypertensive individuals, variations are even more pronounced.
Normally, the blood pressure rises whileat work or play and falls to its lowestlevels during sleep. So, do not be overlyconcerned by the results of onemeasurement.
Take measurements at the same time every day using the procedure described in this manual, and know your normal blood pressure. Many readings give a more comprehensive blood pressure history. Be sure to note date and time when recording your blood pressure. Consult your doctor to interpret your blood pressure data.

line
| Time | Blood Pressure (mmHg) | |------|------------------------| | 12 | ~50 | | 15 | ~30 | | 18 | ~50 | | 21 | ~70 | | 24 | ~150 | | 03 | ~30 | | 06 | ~50 | | 09 | ~150 |-
If you are taking medication, consult with your doctor to determine the most appropriate time to measure your blood pressure. NEVER change a prescribed medication without first consulting with your doctor.
-
2For people with irregular or unstable peripheral circulation problems due to diabetes, liver disease, hardening of the arteries, etc., there may be fluctuation in blood pressure values measured at the upper arm versus at the wrist.
-
Measurements may be impaired if this device is used near televisions, microwave ovens, X-ray, mobile phone equipment or other devices with strong electrical fields. To prevent such interference,
use the monitor at a sufficient distance from such devices or turn them off.
- Before using, should wash your hands.
- Do not measure on the arm which simultaneously used monitoring ME Equipment, otherwise it could cause loss of function.
- Consult your doctor if the unexpected readings are obtained, also please refer to “Trouble shooting” of the manual.

| NOTE 1 At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the higher frequency range applies.NOTE 2 These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is affected by absorption and reflection from structures, objects and people.a The ISM (industrial, scientific and medical) bands between 0,15 MHz and 80 MHz are 6,765 MHz to 6,795 MHz; 13,553 MHz to 13,567 MHz; 26,957 MHz to 27,283 MHz; and 40,66 MHz to 40,70 MHz. The amateur radio bands between 0,15 MHz and 80 MHz are 1,8 MHz to 2,0 MHz, 3,5 MHz to 4,0 MHz, 5,3 MHz to 5,4 MHz, 7 MHz to 7,3 MHz, 10,1 MHz to 10,15 MHz, 14 MHz to 14,2 MHz, 18,07 MHz to 18,17 MHz, 21,0 MHz to 21,4 MHz, 24,89 MHz to 24,99 MHz, 28,0 MHz to 29,7 MHz and 50,0 MHz to 54,0 MHz.b The compliance levels in the ISM frequency bands between 150 kHz and 80 MHz and in the frequency range 80 MHz to 2,7 GHz are intended to decrease the likelihood that mobile/portable communications equipment could cause interference if it is inadvertently brought into patient areas. For this reason, an additional factor of 10/3 has been incorporated into the formulae used in calculating the recommended separation distance for transmitters in these frequency ranges.c Field strengths from fixed transmitters, such as base stations for radio (cellular/ cordless) telephones and land mobile radios, amateur radio, AM and FM radio broadcast and TV broadcast cannot be predicted theoretically with accuracy. To ssess the electromagnetic environment due to fixed RF transmitters, an electromagnetic site survey should be considered. If the measured field strength in the location in which the Model PG-800B19 is used exceeds the applicable RF compliance level above, the Model PG-800B19 should | |||
be observed to verify normal operation. If abnormal performance is observed, additional measures may be necessary, such as re-orienting or relocating the Model PG-800B19.
d Over the frequency range 150 kHz to 80 MHz, field strengths should be less than 10 V/m.
Recommended separation distances between portable and mobile RF communications equipment and the Model PG-800B19
The Model PG-800B19 is intended for use in an electromagnetic environment in which radiated RF disturbances are controlled. The customer or the user of the Model PG-800B19 can help prevent electromagnetic interference by maintaining a minimum distance between portable and mobile RF communications equipment (transmitters) and the Model PG-800B19 as recommended below, according to the maximum output power of the communications equipment.
| Rated maximum output of transmitter W | Separation distance according to frequency of transmitter m | |||
| 150 kHz to 80 MHz outside ISM bands d = [ 3.5V_1 ] | 150 kHz to 80 MHz in ISM bands d = [ 12V_2 ] | 80 MHz to 800MHz d = [ 12E_1 ] | 800 MHz to 2,7 GHz d = [ 23E_1 ] | |

| 10 3.8 3.8 | 3.8 7.27 | |||
| 100 12 12 | 12 23 | |||
| For transmitters rated at a maximum output power not listed above the recommended separation distance d in metres (m) can be estimated using the equation applicable to the frequency of the transmitter, where P is the maximum output power rating of the transmitter in watts (W) according to the transmitter manufacturer.NOTE 1 At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the separation distance for the higher frequency range applies. | ||||
NOTE 2 The ISM (industrial, scientific and medical) bands between 0,15 MHz and 80 MHz are 6,765 MHz to 6,795 MHz; 13,553 MHz to 13,567 MHz; 26,957 MHz to 27,283 MHz; and 40,66 MHz to 40,70 MHz. The amateur radio bands between 0, 15 MHz and 80 MHz are 1,8 MHz to 2,0 MHz, 3,5 MHz to 4,0 MHz, 5,3 MHz to 5,4 MHz, 7 MHz to 7,3 MHz, 10,1 MHz to 10,15 MHz, 14 MHz to 14,2 MHz, 18,07 MHz to 18,17 MHz, 21,0 MHz to 21,4 MHz, 24,89 MHz to 24,99 MHz, 28,0 MHz to 29,7 MHz and 50,0 MHz to 54,0 MHz.
NOTE 3 An additional factor of 10/3 has been incorporated into the formulae used in calculating the recommended separation distance for transmitters in the ISM frequency bands between 150 kHz and 80 MHz and in the frequency range 80 MHz to 2.7 GHz to decrease the likelihood that mobile/portable communications equipment could cause interference if it is inadvertently brought into patient areas.
NOTE 4 These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is affected by absorption and reflection from structures, objects and people.
