Only Lavazza "A MODO MIO" pods should be placed in the pod
compartment. Do not put your fingers or any other object in the compartment.

Single-dose pods brew a single coffee/product. DO NOT use the pods more than once. Inserting 2 or more pods can cause the machine to malfunction.

To perform the operations listed below, the steam / water knob must be closed.

We recommend pre-warming the mug to always have coffee at ideal temperature. Pull the loading lever forwards until it stops and without inserting any pods. Place the mug under the dispensing spout and use the coffee brew button/switch to dispense a sufficient amount of water to pre-warm the cup.

Place the mug/small cup under the dispensing spout.

Lift the pod compartment door, insert a pod and close it.

Mechanical assembly diagrams showing two stages of a piston-cylinder mechanism with directional arrows indicating motion (no text or labels)3 Place the milk container in such a way that the steam / hot water wand is closed to its bottom, and then open the knob slowly. The machine will start dispensing steam. Move the container gently downwards to get thin and creamy milk froth. It is advisable that the
container is filled with milk for max 1/3 of its volume.

EXTRA press the steam switch again. Only the coffee brew switch or both switches of the machine will be on.
PREMIUM press the steam button again. Only the machine manual brew button will blink.
Before carrying out any other operation, prime the water circuit (see section "Priming the Water Circuit"). This way, you will prevent the following coffee from being over-extracted (almost like burnt taste - strong, bitter and ashtray).
We suggest using partially skimmed milk, at refrigerator temperature, in the desired quantity to obtain a thick froth.
CAPPUCCINATORE (optional on Extra and Premium models).
The Cappuccinatore CAPPUCCINO CUOR DI CREMA LAVAZZA A MODO MIO is sold as an accessory for the Lavazza A MODO MIO coff ee machines. Visit our website www.lavazzamodomio.com to find out where to buy it.
Always ensure that the power supply is disconnected and wait for the machine to cool down.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
EN
We recommend rinsing the tank every day. Never use solvents, alcohol, harsh substances to dry the machine components, and never place them in an oven. Wash the components (except the electrical ones) with cold/lukewarm water and non-abrasive cloths/sponges.
CLEANING THE STEAM / HOT WATER WAND
After using the steam / hot water wand, dispense steam for a few seconds. Clean the wand externally with a damp cloth.
CLEANING THE BREW GROUP
Carry out the MANUAL COFFEE BREWING procedure weekly without inserting the pod.
CLEANING THE DREGDRAWER
i Empty and clean the dregdrawer every two/three days or after having brewed 10 coffees.
1 Remove the dregdrawer and the cup grill.

natural_image
Mechanical assembly diagram showing two stages of a device with directional arrows indicating motion (no text or symbols)2 Remove the top drawer to take out the used pods and to drain the drip tray. Clean and dry both parts before putting them back.
Check periodically that the dregdrawer is not full so as to avoid malfunctioning and damages to the machine.
PANNARELLO (optional for Extra model)
The Pannarello can be bought separately from an authorized dealer.
The Pannarello must be removed and completely washed after every use with milk, following the instructions given below.
Remove the Pannarello end by pulling it towards the outside.

natural_image

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Wash the removed part with lukewarm water to remove any residuals of milk.

Clean the hole in the upper area carefully. Through this operation you will always be able to brew excellent cappuccinos.

natural_image
Diagram of a hand holding a tool near a water channel, with an inset showing a magnified view of the device (no text or symbols present)Clean the fixed part installed on the steam / hot water wand with a damp cloth.
At the end, assemble the outer part again. Make sure this component is inserted up to its limit stop to prevent it from sliding away during operation.

After cleaning, we recommend dispensing some steam to complete the process.
DESCALING
Limescale normally builds up with extended use of the appliance; the machine needs descaling every 3 - 4 months and/or whenever a reduction in water flow is noticed.

In case of conflict, priority must be given to what is indicated in the operation and maintenance manual over the instructions provided on separately sold accessories and materials.

Use the Saeco descaling product. Its formula has been designed to ensure better machine performance and operation for its whole operating life. If correctly used, it also avoids alterations in the brewed product. The descaling solution must be disposed of according to the manufacturer's instructions and/or regulations in force in the country of use. Note: if the optional water filter is used, REMOVE IT BEFORE DESCALING.

Never drink the descaling solution or any products dispensed until the cycle has been carried out to the end. Never use vinegar as a descaling solution.

Remove the water tank and empty it out.

Pour HALF the content of the Saeco concentrated descaling solution into the water tank, and then fill it with fresh water up to the MAX
level indicated.
3 Turn the machine on and place a container under the steam / hot water wand.
4 Turn the steam / hot water knob to the open position.
5 EXTRA: press the coffee brew switch and dispense two cups of water (about 150 ml each).
PREMIUM: wait for the brew buttons to be steadily on, then press the manual brew button to dispense two cups of water (about 150 ml each).
6 Then close the knob and turn off the machine.
7 Let the descaling solution sit for about 15-20 minutes with the machine off.
8 Turn on the machine by pressing the main switch and perform the operations described in steps ④, ⑤ and ⑥. Then keep it off for 3 minutes.
9 Repeat the operations described in step ⑧ until the water tank is completely empty.
10 Rinse the tank with fresh drinking water and fill it up.
11 Turn on the machine by pressing the main switch. Dispense the whole content of the tank through the steam / hot water wand. Use a suitable container.
12 When water is finished, fi ll the tank again and repeat the operations described in step 11. Once finished, the descaling cycle is complete.
