2.1 Owner's liability
• The battery test device was
developed and manufactured according to the technical norms and standards accepted and valid at the time and is considered to be operationally reliable. Nevertheless, the battery test device may present a danger when it is not used as intended or used in an inappropriate way by non-qualified personnel. Please make sure that any person using this battery test device or carrying out any maintenance work carefully reads these operating instructions and fully understands all the provided information before starting work.
- Keep the operating instructions together with the battery test device at all times.
- Modifications of any kind or any additions or modifications to the battery test device are prohibited.
- All specified installation values or setting ranges must be observed.
2.2Intendeduse
The function of the battery test device 4650-6 is to easily and quickly measure the state of a vehicle battery as well as its start-up and charging systems.
- It is able to test and detect bad cells in all types of starter batteries, including lead acid, AGM flat batteries, AGM spiral batteries, GEL batteries, START&STOP batteries and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
- The non-reversible polarity feature ensures that incorrect connections do not damage the test device, the vehicle or the battery.
- Battery-free operation guarantees that the test device is always ready for operation.
- The test device is capable of analysing batteries in accordance with most battery standards such as CCA, BCI, CA, MCA, JIS, DIN, IEC, EN, SAE, GB.

The battery test device may only be used if it is in good working order.
• The battery test device is not water-proof. -
Never use the battery test device at temperatures below 0 °C or above +50 °C; the function is only guaranteed within this temperature range.
- Do not subject the battery test device to shocks or impacts.
- The proper functioning of the battery test device is only guaranteed with original spare parts.
- Incorrect use of the battery test device or use that fails to comply with the safety precautions can result in serious injury.
- Any deviation from the intended use and/or any misapplication of the device is not permitted and will be considered as improper use.
- Any claims against the manufacturer and/or its authorised agents resulting from damage caused by improper use of the device are invalid.
- Any personal injury or material losses caused by improper use are the sole responsibility of the owner.
- The product must be used in strict compliance with local electrical safety regulations.

2.3 Dangers that may arise from using the device
Before each use, check the HAZET battery test device for full functionality. Do not use the battery test device if its functional efficiency (according to the test results) cannot be ensured or if damage is detected. If the battery test device is used even though it has been determined that it is not in good working order, there is a danger of serious damage to body, health and property. Electrical energy can cause serious injuries. The following fundamental safety instructions must be observed and adhered to in order to avoid electric shock, injuries or fire:
- The connecting cables and housing must not be damaged. Tools that have been dropped or damaged must be checked by qualified personnel before being used again.
- Never use tools with a defective on/off switch. Any tools that cannot be switched on or off with the On/Off switch are dangerous and must be repaired.

- The cables must not touch hot or sharp parts or become damaged in any other way. The cables must be laid in such a way that they do not present a tripping hazard.
- Do not expose the battery test device to water or other liquids. Dangerous voltage discharges may occur.
- Do not disassemble/open the battery test device yourself. Any improper assembly can impair its functionality and cause a fire, an electrical shock and/or injuries.
- All service or repair work must be carried out by qualified personnel only. Only use original spare parts so as to guarantee its long-term operational safety.
- Safety devices and/or cover parts may not be removed.
- Only use the battery test device at places that are governed and regulated by applicable provisions for work areas and electrical systems.
- For safety reasons, any modification to the HAZET battery test device is strictly forbidden. Any modification made to the device will result in immediate exclusion of liability.
- Safety devices and/or cover parts may not be removed.
- If smoke, odours or noises emanate from the device, switch off the device immediately, disconnect the power cord and contact customer service.
Maintenance
If the product is not working properly, please contact your dealer or the nearest service centre. We accept no responsibility for problems caused by unauthorised repair or maintenance.
- Carefully wipe the device with a clean cloth.
- If the device is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection provided by the device may be impaired.

Keep power tools out of the hands of children.
Unattended tools could be used by unauthorised persons and could cause injury to them or to other persons.

2) Contrast setting: to set the contrast of the LCD display.

3.5 Operations and tests
The test device displays battery voltage as soon as it is connected to the battery. The main menu can then be called up by pressing any button.

3.6 Battery test
If surface charge is detected, switch the headlights on until it is removed. As soon as it has been removed, switch the lights on as instructed and press ENTER.
Selecting the vehicle type
Select between car and motorcycle battery tests. Press ENTER as soon as the vehicle type has been selected.

Notes:
LiFePo4 lithium batteries are displayed in the motorcycle battery menu.

Select the correct battery type in accordance with the battery operating instructions or the instructions on the battery itself and press ENTER.

Standards for battery tests
The battery test device carries out the test in accordance with the entered nominal power and the test standard. Use the UP/DOWN keys to select the test standard and enter the value specified on the battery. For example, 540 (EN)
CCA: Cold Cranking Amps, specified by SAE&BCI, the value used most frequently for starter batteries at 0°F (-18°C).
BCI: Battery Council International standard
CA: Cranking Amps standard, effective start-up current at 0°C
MCA: Marine Cranking Amps standard, effective start-up current at 0°C.
JIS: Japanese industrial standard, is displayed on the battery as a combination of numbers and letters, e.g. 55D23,80D26.
DIN: German automotive industrial commission standard
IEC: International Electrotechnical Commission standard
EN: European association of the automotive industry standard
SAE: Society of Automotive Engineers standard
GB: Chinese national standard

④ Spare parts

- For safety reasons, only the manufacturer's original spare parts may be used.
- Unsuitable or defective spare parts may cause damage, malfunction or total failure of the tool.
- The use of non-approved spare parts will void all warranty, service and liability claims as well as all claims for compensation against the manufacturer or its agents, distributors and sales representatives.

The tool must be stored under the following conditions:
- Do not store the tool outdoors.
- Keep the device in a dry and dust-free place.
- Do not expose to liquids or aggressive substances.
• Storage temperature: -20 up to +70°C.
• Relative air humidity: max. 65 % - When transporting the device, keep it in its original or comparable packaging.

After unpacking, keep all packing material for future use, insofar as possible. In the event of a complaint, please use suitable packaging for the return shipment, preferably the original packaging.

HAZET accepts no responsibility for transport damage caused by improper packaging during return shipment.
- Do not drop the product and avoid violent impacts. Keep the device away from magnetic interference.
