Connection and Preparation
Remove all packaging and prepare your Majority Touro for use. Insert the power adaptor to the back of the device into its port (Ref.14) and plug the other end into power socket.
Ensure the switch button at the back of the radio has been switched to 'ON' (Ref.13).
Standby Mode
To set the radio to 'Standby Mode' or to power on while in Standby Mode, press and hold the Standby/Mode button (Ref.1) for 2-3 seconds.
Radio Antenna
Ensure that the radio antenna is fully extended before scanning DAB/DAB+/FM radio stations to get the best possible radio signal reception available at your location.
Presets
Presets are stored on the unit and cannot be accessed from other radios.
The number of presets for each mode are DAB-20; FM-20, and 10 in total for the Internet Radios and Podcasts.
To store a preset, press and hold the 'FAV' button for 2-3 seconds (Ref.3). The display will show the 'Save the Preset' screen. Select an empty space number to save the current playing station.
To recall a preset, press (do not hold) the 'FAV' button (Ref.3), and select one of the saved preset stations.
When a preset station is playing a star icon is showing at the bottom of the screen.
First Time Set-up for use
Connecting to network
- A broadband connection in combination with a wireless access point, router, or similar network device.
- The network device needs to support Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n) wireless connection.
Make sure your wireless network is set and you have the WEP, WPA or WPA2 security password to activate the connection with the Majority Touro. You may also use the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) function for easy pairing between the network device and the radio. Check if the light indicators on the network device have the appropriate status.
When powering the device up for the first time, you will be appointed to change the language. Rotate the navigation dial (Ref.7) to select the menu language you want from the list and press the Navigation Dial/'OK' button (Ref.7) to confirm your selection. The privacy policy will be displayed right after. Press the Navigation Dial/'OK' button to confirm and continue (Ref.7).
A 'Setup Wizard' guide will be automatically launched to guide you through the process.
Select 'YES' and confirm to launch the setup wizard.
If you select 'NO', the next window will ask to you choose if you want to start the Setup Wizard again the next time you power the radio on.
Setting date and time - Select the clock format such as: '12' for 12-hour display format or '24' for 24-hour display format. If you select the 12-hour format, the display shows 'AM' in the morning or 'PM' in the afternoon after the time.
Please Note: 'AM' / 'PM' displays only if you have chosen the 12-hour time format. Select 'AM' for the morning hours or 'PM' for the afternoon hours.
Once selected, the following options will be displayed on the radio screen to choose from for the time and date to be updated: Update from DAB, Update from FM, Update from Network or No Update.
Please Note: If you choose 'Update from Network' you must indicate your time zone in the next window.
Next, switch on Daylight Savings Time during summertime, otherwise select 'OFF'. If you choose 'No Update', you will have to enter the date and time manually.
Connecting the Majority Touro with your network
The device will ask if you wish to keep network connected. To control the device in all operating modes via the app, select 'YES' to confirm. If you choose 'NO,' it isn't possible to control the device from the app in Standby Mode.
Note: The power consumption in Standby Mode will be higher when the network is connected.
Once you have confirmed your selection, a list of WIFI networks found available at your location will then be displayed on the radio screen. Select your network from the list to connect to the Majority Touro to using one of the following methods:
- Push button: The radio prompts you to press the 'Connect' button on your Internet router. Once activated, The Majority Touro scans for a ready Push Button Network available and connects.
- Pin button: The radio generates an 8-digit pin code number for you to enter into your wireless router, access point, or an external registrar.
- Skip WPS: Enter key as for a standard encrypted network. To enter the network key, use the Navigation Dial (Ref.7) to move the cursor through the characters and press the Navigation Dial / OK (Ref.7) to confirm. As each character is selected, the key is built up near the top of the display.
There are three options accessible by tuning the Navigation Dial Knob (Ref.7) back before the first characters – Backspace, OK and Cancel.
Please Note : For more information on setting up a WPS encrypted network, see your WPS router's instructions.
Once the key has been entered the Majority Touro will search and connect to your network. If the set-up has been successfully completed, the screen will show its connection status. If connecting with your network using this method fails, it returns to the previous screen to try again. Once completed, press the Navigation Dial (Ref.7) to quit the setup wizard.
Control your radio with OKTIV App
The Majority Touro is accessible using the OKTIV App for network remote via a smartphone or tablet with IOS or Android operational system. This will allow you to control the radio using the network remote on your device. To be able to activate and use this Net-remote, you must download the OKTIV app on your phone/ tablet from Google Play or Apple Store and install onto your device.

GET IT ON Google PlayBefore using the OKTIV app, make sure that the Majority Touro and your phone or tablet are connected to the same WIFI network. Launch the app. The app will initialise and scan for Internet Radio in the network. Once connected you can control the selected mode on your smartphone/tablet and on the display of the device simultaneously.
Please note: Be aware that if another smartphone/tablet with the app in the same networks have access with the device, the original connection will be cut off.
Internet Radio & Podcasts
The Majority Touro can play thousands of Internet radio stations and podcasts from around the world through a broadband Internet connection. When you select Internet Radio or Podcasts Mode, the device directly contacts the Frontier Smart Technologies portal to get radio stations or podcasts.
The listed menu is provided by the portal and is only accessible when the device is connected to the Internet Network.
Please note: The contents and sub-menus may change from time to time.
Choose required category and search for the radio station or podcast you would like to play on The Majority Touro.

While the stream is playing, the screen shows its name and description. To view further information, press 'Menu'/'INFO' (Ref.2).
Each time you press the 'Menu'/'INFO' (Ref.2) button, another set of information will be displayed, cycle through name/description, genre/location, reliability, codec/sampling rate, playback buffer and today's date.
Press the Navigation Dial/'OK' button (Ref.7) to view the station album in full screen.
Presets - 10 presets available (see section 'Basic Operations' at page 6).
Spotify Connect
Use your smartphone, tablet, or computer as a remote control for Spotify.

Start playing Spotify on your smartphone as per usual. The devices icons are displayed at the bottom of your phone screen. Open the devices icon list to see the ones available on your network, and then select 'Majority Touro.' Once successfully connected, the radio icon will turn green, and you can begin streaming via the Majority Touro.
USB Music Player
This feature is only to be used to play audio files from a USB stick. Insert the USB stick on its port on the back of the radio (Ref.16).
- The USB stick specifications that you can use with the Majority Touro are:
• Supported USB file systems: FAT16, FAT32
• Maximum device capacity: 128 GB.
• Maximum number of items (files/sub directories) including any directory is: 5000.
• Maximum depth of file system tree: 8 directory levels.
Whilst in USB Mode, the menus are generated based on the content of the USB stick (folders, audio files, etc). Browse through the files using the Navigation Dial (Ref.7) and the 'BACK' button (Ref.4).
The radio display shows folders and file names (not necessarily track names).
Once you have found a track you want to play, press the Navigation Dial/'OK' button (Ref.7), and the track will play immediately.
While in USB Mode you can use the button 'Tuning +' (Ref.5) to skip to the next track, hold to fast forward or use the 'Tuning-' (Ref.6) to go to the previous track, hold to fast backward.

Music Player USB playback > My playlist > Repeat play: Off > Shuffle play: Off > Clear My playlist >My Playlist - The files/audio tracks can be added to 'My Playlist' by browsing your available tracks through the USB playback menu. Highlight the track you wish to add, and then press, and hold the Navigation Dial/OK button (Ref.7) for 2 seconds to save. The playlist is preserved during Standby Mode. The device holds a queue of up to 200 tracks in 'My Playlist'.
Clear My Playlist - To clear everything saved in 'My Playlist.'
Repeat/Shuffle - You can set these options to repeat tracks or play them in random order.
Now Playing Information - While a track is playing, the screen shows the file and artist. There is also a progress bar with figures for elapsed and total track time. At the bottom of the screen, an icon indicating USB (depending on the source) will appear. To view further information, press the 'Menu/Info' button (Ref.2). Each time you press 'INFO', another set of information will be displayed, cycling through: artist, album, codec/sampling rate, playback buffer and today's date.
Note: In USB Mode, the album cover is not supported.
DAB Radio Mode
To enter DAB Mode, press the 'Power/Mode' (Ref.1) button repeatedly multiple times until DAB Mode comes up.
While in DAB Mode, the Majority Touro receives DAB/DAB+ digital radio signal and displays information about the station, stream and track playing.

The first time you select DAB Mode, or if the station list is empty, the radio automatically performs a full scan for the available radio stations.
To start a scan manually, choose 'Full scan.' To scan only stations with good signal strength, select 'Local scan'.
Once the scan is complete, the radio shows a list of available stations.
To remove stations that are listed but not available, choose 'Prune invalid'. Rotate the Navigation Dial (Ref.7) to scroll through the list of DAB radio stations found, highlight the one you would like to play, then press the Navigation Dial/'OK' button (Ref.7) to confirm. Once selected, the radio station will start to play. While playing, the radio screen displays information about the radio station, audio track or broadcast info.
Now Playing Information
To view more info while streaming, press the 'Menu'/'Info' button (Ref.2).
Each time you press the 'Menu'/'Info' button, the screen will display a set of details, cycling through DLS text, programme type, ensemble name/frequency, signal strength/error rate, bit rate/codec/channels and today's date.
Press the Navigation Dial/'OK' button (Ref.7) to view the station album in full screen.
Presets – 20 presets available (see the section 'Basic Operations- Presets' on page 6).
DAB Mode Settings
Dynamic Range Compression (DRC)
If you are listening to music with a high dynamic range in a noisy environment, you may wish to compress the audio dynamic range. This makes quiet sounds louder, and loud sounds quieter. You can change DRC as Off, Low or High.
Radio Station Order
You can choose the order of the DAB station list to be either Alphanumeric, Ensemble or Valid.
Ensemble lists groups of stations that are broadcast together on the same ensemble.
Valid lists valid stations first, alphanumerically, then off-air stations.
FM Radio Mode
To enter FM Radio Mode, press the 'Mode' button (Ref.1) repeatedly to find and enter the FM Mode.
FM Radio Mode receives analogue radio from the FM band and displays RDS (Radio Data System) information about the station and broadcasts if available.
Scanning for stations
While in FM Mode, to find/scan for radio stations, press and hold the Navigation Dial/'OK' button (Ref.7) for 2-3 seconds. The frequency display starts to run up as the device scans the FM band. Alternatively, you can tune manually by pressing and holding the 'Tuning +' button (Ref.5) to scan up the FM band, or by pressing and holding the 'Tuning -' button (Ref.6) to scan through the FM band for available radio stations.
Now Playing Information
While the stream is playing, the screen shows its frequency. If RDS information is available such as station name, programme name, track title and contact details these will also be visible. If there is no information available, on the radio display you will only see the radio station frequency. Stereo broadcasts are indicated with an icon at the top of the screen. To view further information about the broadcast, press the 'Menu'/'Info' button (Ref.2).
Each time you press the 'Menu/Info' button (Ref.2), another set of information is displayed, cycling through RDS text, further RDS text (station/programme type), frequency and today's date.
Presets - 20 presets available (see the 'Presets' section on page 6).
FM Settings: Scan settings
By default, FM scans stop at any available station. This may result in a poor signal-to-noise ratio (hissing noise) from weak stations. To stop at radio stations with good signal strength only, change the scan settings to 'Strong stations only' and select 'Yes' to confirm.
Audio Settings
All stereo stations are reproduced in stereo. For weak signal radio stations, this may result in a poor signal-to-noise ratio (hissing noise). To play weak stations in Mono, select FM weak reception: 'Listen in Mono only' and then 'YES' to confirm.
Bluetooth Mode
To enter Bluetooth Mode, press the 'Mode' button (Ref.1) repeatedly, until you see the Bluetooth logo on the radio display.
The Majority Touro can be paired via Bluetooth with a phone, a tablet or similar device to play audio via the radio speaker.
In Bluetooth Mode, the radio enters the pairing mode automatically.
Turn on Bluetooth on your device and search for 'Majority Touro'. While the pairing is in progress, there is a blinking Bluetooth icon at the bottom of the screen. If the pairing is successful, the Bluetooth icon becomes steady.
Control the music playback from your Bluetooth device.
To disconnect the Majority Touro from a device which it is already paired with, press and hold the Navigation Dial (Ref.1) button for 2-3 seconds.
Please note: The Majority Touro is not compatible with Bluetooth earphones.
Aux-In (Line-In) Mode
The Line-In Mode can be used to play audio from an external source such as an MP3 player, a tablet, or any other similar device, via the Majority Touro's speaker.
Connect the external audio source to the LINE-IN jack port on the back of the radio (Ref.15), using a 3.5 mm audio cable (not included).
If necessary, adjust the volume level on the unit and on the audio source device that you are connecting with.
Alarm
There are two versatile wake-up alarms with snooze facility, and a sleep function to turn the system off after a set period of time. Each alarm can be set to start in a particular mode.
Select Alarms under the main menu to set or change an alarm. Alternatively, press the 'Alarm' button (Ref.8) for direct access.

Alarm 1 Enable: Daily Time: 07:30 Mode: Internet Radio Preset: Last listened Volume: 10Select the alarm number (1 or 2), and then configure the following parameters:
Enable: OFF, Daily, Once, Weekends or Weekdays,
• Time: as per your choice
- If you select to enable the alarm 'Once', you will be prompted to also add the date.
• Mode: Buzzer tone, Internet Radio, DAB or FM,
- Preset: Last listened or Preset 1-10
• Volume: set the volume level between 0-32.
To activate the alarm with the new settings, scroll down and select 'Save'. The screen shows active alarms with an icon at the bottom left of the radio display screen.
Please Note: If you press the 'Back' or 'Menu' buttons to exit the Alarm settings without saving, a dialogue screen is displayed asking if you wish to save the changes or not.
Snoozing, Cancelling or Switching the Alarm set off.
At the set time, the alarm will sound. To temporarily silence it, press the 'Snooze' button (Ref.9). Pressing the 'Snooze' button repeatedly cycles through the available snooze periods: 5 Min, 10 Min, 15 Min & 30 Min.
The radio returns to Standby Mode for the set period, with the silenced alarm icon flashing and a countdown of the remaining snooze period. Once the set snooze time selected ends, the alarm will sound again.
Please note: While snoozing if you would like to change the snooze timer already set, press the 'Snooze' button (Ref.9) again to select a different snooze timer. Any remaining snooze time is reset to the new selected time.
To cancel a sounding alarm, or an alarm in snooze, press the ON/Mode button (Ref.1) or the Alarm button (Ref.8).
To switch off an alarm already set, press the 'Alarm' button (Ref.8) to access and set to OFF. Alternatively, go through Main Menu to enter the Alarm section, and set the one you'd like to remove to OFF.
Sleep Timer
To set the sleep timer, press the 'Sleep' button (Ref.9) repeatedly to cycle through the sleep time options: Sleep OFF, 15 MINS, 30 MINS, 45 MINS or 60 MINS. Stop when the required time is displayed on the radio screen. After a few seconds, the displayed time will be saved, and the radio will return to the previous screen.
Whilst on the 'Now Playing' screen, the remaining sleep time is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Alternatively, you can set a 'Sleep Timer' via the Menu: Menu > Main Menu > Sleep, and select one from the sleep timer options. Once you select a sleep period, the system returns to the main menu. Press the 'Menu/Info' button (Ref.2) to return to the 'Now Playing' screen.
To cancel a sleep timer, select the 'Sleep OFF' from the sleep options using either of the above methods.
Please note: A sleep timer is automatically cancelled if the Majority Touro is set to Standby Mode.
While on the playing screen of any modes, press and hold the 'MENU'/'INFO' button (Ref.2) on the unit for 2-3 seconds and choose 'System Settings' to continue.

System settings Equaliser > Network > Time/Date > Language > Factory reset >Equaliser
Several preset EQ modes are available: Normal, Flat, Jazz, Rock, Movie, Classic, Pop and News. Also, a user-defined setting is available; create your own EQ with custom Bass and Treble settings.
Network
Network Wizard - Enter to search AP SSID, then input the WEP / WPA key or choose Push Button/Pin/Skip WPS to connect to the wireless network.
PBC WLAN Setup - The Push Button Configuration (PBC) connects the AP that supports Wi-Fi Protected Set-Up (WPS).
View Settings - View the information of current connected network: Active connection, MAC address, WLAN region, DHCP, SSID, IP address, Subnet mask, Gateway address, Primary DNS, and Secondary DNS.
Manual Settings - Choose wireless network connection and enable or disable DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol).
Net-Remote PIN Setup - Here you can view and edit the Net-Remote PIN. The default Net-Remote PIN is: 1234. The Net-Remote PIN is required when you want to connect a smartphone, tablet or PC to your radio.
Network Profile - The smart radio remembers the last four wireless networks it has connected to, and automatically tries to connect to whichever one of them it can find. From here you can see the list of registered networks. You can delete unwanted networks by pressing the Navigation Dial/'OK' button (Ref.7), and then choosing 'YES' to confirm your choice.
Clear Network Settings - Select 'YES' to clear all the current network settings. Select 'NO' to cancel.
Keep network connected - If you choose to keep the network connected, the radio will be connected at all times with your network even when is set in Standby Mode. This option allows the device to be ready for use in all modes when using the NetRemote- OKTIV app. Select 'NO' to deactivate WIFI on the radio.
Time/Date
Set the time manually or automatically update time format, time zone and daylight-saving time- Refer to 'First Time Setup' on p7.
Language
The default language is English. Change it as your preference should you wish to do so.
Factory Reset
A factory reset will set all user settings to default values, therefore the existing presets, Time and date, and network configuration will be lost.
Software Update
Auto-check setting - This option automatically checks for latest updates from time to time. Automatic updating is enabled by default. To disable it, select 'NO.' To enable it again, select 'YES.'
Check now - Search for available updates immediately.
If newer available software is detected, you will be asked if you want to go ahead with an update. If you agree, the new software is then downloaded and installed. After a software upgrade, all user settings are maintained.
Please note: Before starting a software upgrade, ensure that the radio is plugged into a stable main power connection. Disconnecting power during an upgrade may permanently damage the unit.
Setup Wizard
With this function, you can start the setup wizard at any time. Any parameters or stations entered already, are not deleted. For more information, please refer to 'First-time Set-up' on p7.
Info
Enter Info to view the firmware version and the radio ID.
Privacy Policy
View the information of Privacy Policy. Please read the data protection regulations listed there or go to this website: www.frontiersmart.com/privacy
Backlight
You may change the backlight of each environment (Power On or Standby) to High, Medium, or Low. Adjust the timeout duration which the radio turns to 'Standby' backlight level when it has not been controlled.
