What types of monitors are compatible with the B114-004-R?

The splitter is compatible with VGA, SVGA, XGA, UXGA and Multisync monitors. It is not compatible with CGA, EGA or monochrome monitors, nor with digital signals.

Can I connect more than 4 monitors with this splitter?

Yes, you can cascade up to 3 levels of splitters (B114-002-R or B114-004-R) to increase the number of outputs. For example, using 3 splitters, you can get up to 4+4+4=12 outputs.

What is the maximum distance between the computer and the monitor?

The maximum transmission distance is 64 meters (210 feet) between the source and the farthest monitor, using quality cables.

What power supply should I use?

Use only the provided power adapter (9 V DC, 1 A). Using another adapter may damage the device.

How to install the splitter?

1. Connect your computer's VGA port to the splitter's Video In input using a male-to-female VGA cable (e.g., P500 series). 2. Connect the Video Out outputs to the monitors using male-to-male VGA cables (e.g., P502 series). 3. Plug in the power supply and turn on the device.

What to do if the image does not appear on the monitors?

Check cable connections, ensure the power supply is plugged in and the splitter is powered on. If using cascading, check each level. Test with a single monitor to isolate the issue.

Does the splitter support 4K resolution?

No, this model is designed for analog VGA signals with a bandwidth of 350 MHz. It does not support 4K resolutions, which require digital signals (HDMI, DisplayPort).

Is there a loss of signal quality with cascading?

Quality may slightly degrade after several levels of cascading, especially over long distances. To minimize loss, use good quality cables and do not exceed 3 levels of cascading.

How to clean the splitter?

Unplug the device before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use liquid or abrasive products.

Introduction

The Video Splitter is a signal booster and splitter that takes video input from a single source and directs it to multiple video outputs for monitors using analog signals. It extends the distance a signal is sent up to 210 ft.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This unit is not designed for CGA, EGA or MONOCHROME type monitors or any monitor using a digital video signal.

Installation

Stand-Alone Installation:

1. Connect the PC's video output port to the Video Splitter's "Video In" port using an HDDB15 Male/Female Monitor Extension Cable (such as Tripp Lite's P500-Series Cables).
2. Connect the Video Splitter's "Video Out" ports to the input of your monitors either by using the existing cable on the monitor or by using an HDDB15 Male/Male Monitor Cable (such as Tripp Lite's P502-Series Cables).
3. Connect the provided power supply to the Video Splitter and turn on the unit. Your Video Splitter is ready to go.

WARNING!

Use ONLY the 9V DC external power supply included with the unit.

Installation

Multiple Unit Installation:

1. Connect the "Video Out" port from the first Video Splitter to the "Video In" port of the next unit in the chain. Use a standard VGA HDDB15 Male/Female Cable (such as Tripp Lite's P500-Series Cables).
2. Connect the power supplies to the Video Splitters and turn the power switch on.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to connect up to three levels of Video Splitters to the chain, with the initial splitter being level one.

TRIPP LITE warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three (3) years from the date of initial purchase. Products must be returned to TRIPP LITE or an authorized TRIPP LITE service center with transportation charges prepaid and must be accompanied by a brief description of the problem encountered and proof of date and place of purchase. This warranty does not apply to equipment which has been damaged by accident, negligence or misapplication or has been altered or modified in any way.
