Frequently Asked Questions - Universal PDP

How to pair the universal remote with my PS4™?
Turn on the PS4™. Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth Devices. Press the PS button on the remote, then hold the SHARE and PS buttons until the red LED flashes. The remote will appear as 'PDP Universal Remote'. Select it and confirm with 'Yes'.
How to program the remote for my TV?
Two methods: automatic or manual. In automatic mode: turn on the TV, hold the TV key and the device key (TV) for 5 seconds until the red LED lights up. The remote searches for the code; the TV will turn off when the code is found. Immediately press any key to finish. In manual mode: with the code table, hold the TV key and enter the 4-digit code.
What to do if the remote stops responding?
Check the batteries (insert new batteries). Make sure there are no obstacles between the remote and the device. For PS4™, ensure Bluetooth is enabled and the remote is paired. If the remote is in sleep mode, press the PS button or a device button to wake it up.
How does the learning function work?
The remote can learn IR commands from other remotes. Hold down the gray key corresponding to the device (e.g., TV) and the desired programmable key (e.g., red). The red LED lights up. Point the existing remote at the IR window of the universal remote and press the key to learn. The LED flashes 3 times to confirm.
How to set up direct volume control?
First program the devices. Then hold down the gray key of the device that should always control the volume (e.g., amplifier) and the MUTE key. The red LED flashes 3 times to confirm. Thus, the volume keys will work for that device in all modes.
What batteries to use and how to replace them?
Use 2 AAA alkaline batteries. Open the battery compartment cover on the back. Observe polarity (+/-). Do not use damaged or leaking batteries. Remove batteries if the remote is stored for a long time.
Is the universal remote compatible with all TVs?
It is compatible with most brands. Use the automatic search mode or the provided code list. Some advanced features may not be available. If programming fails, try other codes or contact support.
How to reset the remote to factory settings?
There is no reset procedure indicated in the manual. Try removing the batteries for 30 seconds to clear settings. Otherwise, contact PDP customer service.
What is the range of the remote in IR mode?
The infrared range is about 8 meters in direct line of sight without obstacles. For Bluetooth (PS4™), the range is about 10 meters depending on the setup.
Does the warranty cover accidental damage?
No, the 2-year limited warranty covers only manufacturing defects. Accidental damage, abuse, or unauthorized modifications are not covered. Keep your proof of purchase.
