Before use, please read these instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place for future reference. When passing on the appliance to a third party, make sure to include these instructions for use.

This appliance is intended and suitable for toasting sandwiches, making waffles and broiling. All other use or modification of the appliance is not intended by the manufacturer and might entail a risk of damage or injury. appliance is not intended for commercial use!

General Safety Instructions

• Manufacturer takes no responsibility for any damage caused by incorrect use.
• Incorrect or improper use can damage the appliance and cause injuries to the user.
• Before connecting this appliance to the mains, make sure your local voltage matches the technical data of the appliance. Otherwise the appliance may overheat and get damaged.

Caution! Danger of electric shock!

• Never put the appliance, cord or plug into water or another liquid.
• Do not use the appliance near a sink or wash basin.
• Do not use the appliance with wet hands.
• Do not use the appliance outdoors.

An electric appliance is not a toy!

• Never leave the appliance unattended during use.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 y and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 supervised.

- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of childr less than 8 years.

• Always unplug your appliance when it is not in use, and before cleaning.

- Always pull the plug - not the cord.

- Keep the appliance and the cord well away from any surfaces to avoid any damage to the appliance.

- Make sure the cord may not inadvertently be pulled or cause anyone to trip when in use. Do not allow the cord to hang over sharp edges.

- Do not bend the cord or wind it round the appliance.

Do not use the appliance,

• if the cord is damaged.
  • in case of malfunction.
• if the appliance was dropped or is damaged otherwise. Have it checked and, if necessary, repaired by a qualified person/Customer Service. Never attempt to make any modifications to or repair the appliance yourself.
  • Only use accessories evaluated for use with this applia
• Never attempt to drive any objects into the appliance.
• Never attempt to open the housing yourself!
• The appliance is not intended to be operated by means an external timer or separate remote-control system.

Special Safety Instructions

Warning! To avoid the possibility of injury/damage to the appliance, electric shock, risk of fire and burns!

• Only use the appliance for its intended purpose and as described in this manual.
• Place the appliance on an even and heat-resistant surface
• Attention: The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high during operation. Therefore, do not touch the appliance during and/or immediately after operation. Only use the handle. Danger of serious burns!
  • Do not move the appliance during operation.
• Always use a flat wooden or plastic spatula to remove sandwiches. Never use any sharp or metal objects (e.g. knife, metal spatula, etc.) as they would damage the n stick coating of the plates.

• Adhere to a safety distance around the appliance.

• Do not use the appliance close to or under inflammable objects, e.g. curtains, wall cabinets

• Always unplug the appliance after use and let it complete cool down before cleaning.

Before First Use

- Remove all packaging material incl. the protective film on top of the lid and check whether the appliance is complete and undamaged.

Do not use the appliance if it shows any signs of damage and contact your dealer or customer service.

- Place the appliance on an even and heat-resistant surface.

- Fully unwind the power cord (8) and connect the appliance to a properly installed wall socket.

Note: The cooking plates (6) have a protective coating. To remove the protective layers on the heating elements, heat up the cooking plates (6) (without food) for a few minutes.

This could cause a slight build-up of smoke and odour. This doesn't cause any harm nor does it mean that your appliance does not work properly. Make sure that the room is well ventilated!

Slightly grease the cooking plates (6) with some cooking oil before using the appliance for the first time. This helps to seal the cooking plates (6) and must only be carried out once.

After this preheating process your 3 in 1 XXL Sandwich Maker is ready for operation. Let it completely cool down and clean it as described under Cleaning and Care.

Warning: Plastic bags are a danger to toddlers and babies, therefore keep them away to avoid suffocation.

Exchanging the cooking plates

Always make sure that the appliance is unplugged and completely cooled down. Risk of burns!

- To remove the cooking plates (6), press down the release button (7) and slide it backward.

- To insert the cooking plates (6), insert the prongs of the cooking plates into the drilling holes of the appliance and make sure they click into place.

Operation

Your 3 in 1 XXL Sandwich Maker can toast sandwiches, broil foods or bake Belgian Waffles. Always make sure to insert the respective/correct cooking plates.

The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high during operation. Therefore, do not touch the appliance during and/or immediately after operation.

Tip: Prepare all ingredients in advance before switching on the appliance.

Toasting Sandwiches

1. Connect the appliance to a properly installed wall socket.
2. The Red indicator light (2) lights up and the heating process starts.
3. As soon as the necessary temperature is reached the Green indicator light (3) will light up as well. Your Sandwich Maker is now ready for operation.
4. Open the lid (1) of the appliance by pulling the fastener (5) at the handle (4) upwards.
5. Place your prepared sandwich into the sandwich maker.

Tip: To guarantee an even browning process grease either the toasting plates with some oil / butter or butter the outside of the resp. bread or toast slices.

1. Close the lid (1) carefully until the fastener (5) locks into place. You will hear a click sound. Your sandwich is now being toasted.

Attention: Never try to close your appliance forcefully. Remove some of the toppings in case that the appliance cannot be closed. The toast slices should not be bigger than the toasting plates.

1. After 4 – 5 minutes your sandwich will be ready. Open the appliance and check whether your sandwich is toasted according to your liking.
2. To remove your sandwiches use a wooden or plastic spatula to avoid damage to the non-stick cc of the plates.
3. If you wish to prepare more sandwiches follow steps 3 - 7.
4. After use, disconnect the appliance from the mains and let it completely cool down.

Broiling

Perfect for broiling steaks, chops, Panini, etc.

1. Follow steps 1 – 4 as described under Toasting Sandwiches and make sure that you have applied some butter or oil to the grill plates (6b).
2. Place the foods to be grilled onto the grill plates (6b).
3. Close the lid (1), do not lock the fastener (5).
4. Grill the foods to your liking and follow steps 8 - 10 as described under Toasting Sandwiches.

Baking waffles

1. Follow steps 1 – 4 as described under Toasting Sandwiches and make sure that you have applied some butter or oil to the waffle plates (6c).
2. Fill approx. 2 - 3 table spoons of batter into the lower waffle plate. Make sure not to put too much batter, in order to avoid overflowing.
3. Close the lid (1) carefully and do not close the fastener (5).
4. The baking process lasts approx. 8 - 10 minutes, depending on the thickness, content of the water batter and of course your liking
5. Follow steps 8 -10 as described under Toasting Sandwiches.

For a better result!

• Fill batter into waffle plates quickly to produce evenly brown waffles.
- Place waffles on a cake rack to keep them crispy. Stacked waffles get soggy easily.

To turn the appliance properly off the power plug (8) must be disconnected from the mains after each use.

During operation, an integrated thermostat switches the appliance on and off to ensure a constant temperature. This is indicated by the Green indicator light (3) cycling on and off.

Recipe suggestions:

Belgian Waffles (Gaufres de Liège)

• 400g wheat flour
• 160ml lukewarm milk
• 2 eggs
• 150g coarse sugar
• 50g sugar
• 1 pinch of salt
• 12 packet dry yeast
• 100g butter, room temperature
• 1 vanilla bean, core

Preparation:

Combine the wheat flour, dry yeast, salt and sugar, properly. Add the eggs, butter and core of the vanilla bean. Stir in the lukewarm milk until the batter is smooth.

In order for the dough to rise, leave it to rest for approx. 45 minutes.

Before starting the baking process knead in the coarse sugar. Preheat the appliance and bake small amounts of the batter.

Delicious!

If you prefer them with a chocolate icing, just dip half of the waffle into melted chocolate. Yum!

Classic Waffles

Ingredients:

125 g butter

100 g sugar

1 packet Vanilla sugar

4 eggs

250 g flour

1 table spoon baking powder

200 ml milk

Preparation:

Separate the eggs. Beat whites until moderately stiff, set aside.

Mix butter with sugar, vanilla sugar and egg yolk until smooth. Alternatively add flour/baking powder and milk. Fold egg whites into the mixture.

To add additional flavor, add less milk and 1 table spoon of vanilla or rum extract. However, be careful when adding liquids, as batter should not be too thin.

Bake waffles following the above instructions.

Dust with icing sugar before serving.

Cleaning and Care

Due to hygienic reasons clean your Sandwich Maker on a regular basis, best after each use, and remove any food residues. Not doing so could possibly result in a hazardous situation.

Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains. Let it own.

Never immerse the appliance in water. Danger! Electric Shock!

Clean the appliance with a moistened soft cloth.

Remove the cooled down cooking plates (6) as explained under "Exchange Cooking Plates" and clean them in warm water using some dishwashing detergent.

Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents and/or other hard objects to clean the appliance.

Dry the entire appliance and all parts well after cleaning.

Do not allow stains to dry. To remove food residues apply some cooking oil on the cooking plates (6) and leave it on for some time. Afterwards, wipe the cooking plates (6) with a moistened soft cloth.

Storage

Disconnect the appliance from the mains after each use and let it completely cool down.

Keep the appliance away from children and store it in a clean and dry place.

Disposal Instructions

Waste electrical devices marked with this sign must not be disposed of with your household waste, but are to be collected separately. Therefore, please return this device at the end of its life cycle to special collection points for disposal or your local dealer.
