How to connect power to the Intellinet 508834 switch?

Use the provided screw terminal. Make sure the power is off. Strip the wires about 7 mm, insert the positive wire into the terminal marked '+' and the negative wire into the terminal marked '-'. Tighten the screws to secure the wires. Repeat for the second redundant power supply if needed. Reconnect the terminal to the switch and screw it in.

How to access the web management interface?

Open a web browser and enter the default IP address 192.168.2.1. You will be prompted to enter a username (admin) and a password (the serial number located on the switch label). Click 'OK' to access the management interface.

How to reset the switch to factory defaults?

Press the reset button on the front panel using a pointed object (like a paperclip) for about 10 seconds. The LEDs will blink to indicate reset. The device will restart with default settings (IP address 192.168.2.1, username admin, password = serial number).

What to do if the LINK/ACT LED does not light up?

Check that the Ethernet cable is properly connected at both ends. Ensure the cable is Category 5e or higher. If the connection is at 1000 Mbps, the LINK/ACT LED remains off, but the SPEED LED (green) should be on. Otherwise, test the cable with another device.

Can I use Cat5e cables with this switch?

Yes, Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat6a UTP/STP cables are recommended for optimal performance. The switch automatically adapts to 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps depending on the cable and connected device.

How to mount the switch on a DIN rail?

Attach the provided DIN rail mounting bracket to the back of the switch using the screws. Align the bracket with the DIN rail and push the switch upward until it clicks into place. To remove, pull the bracket tab downward while lifting the switch.

What is the required input voltage?

The switch accepts DC power input from 44 to 57 V. It has two redundant inputs via the terminal block. Use a suitable power source (e.g., 48 V DC).

How to connect an SFP module?

Insert the compatible SFP module into the SFP slot of the switch until it clicks. Connect the fiber optic or copper cable to the module. The corresponding SFP LED will light up green if the connection is established. To remove, pull the module's tab.

How to configure a VLAN via the web interface?

Log into the web interface. Go to 'VLAN' > '802.1Q VLAN'. Create a new VLAN with an ID and name. Assign the desired ports to the VLAN as 'Tagged' or 'Untagged' according to your needs. Click 'Apply' to save.

How to update the switch firmware?

Download the latest firmware from Intellinet's website (intellinetnetwork.com). In the web interface, go to 'Maintenance' > 'Firmware Upgrade'. Select the downloaded file and click 'Upgrade'. Do not turn off the power during the update.

Cat5e/6/6a UTP/STP cables provide optimal performance; if a status LED doesn't indicate a link or activity, check the corresponding device for proper setup and operation.

Terminal Block Installation

NOTE: Ensure all power is off/disconnected before beginning!

1 Loosen appropriate screws.
2 Insert bare power-supply wires into appropriate terminal slots (positive wire into positive slot; negative wire into negative slot).
3 Tighten appropriate screws to secure wires. (If desired, repeat steps 1 – 3 on second input pair.)
4 Install block into the device and tighten screws.

Power Off Alarm

You can choose whether to connect the power failure warning device to the connecting terminal marked "Fault" according to your requirements. When using power redundancy, if one power source fails, a fault alarm will be generated.

Chassis Ground Column

Located on the side of the power supply connector, a grounding terminal connector is used to provide proper grounding for your Intellinet Network Solutions switch. If you use the chassis grounding screw, it should be wired to an object that provides earth ground.

Placement

Desktop Installation

Prior to use, place/position the switch:

• on a level surface that can support the weight of the switch and that offers at least 25 mm (approx. 1") of clearance for ventilation;
• away from sources of electrical noise: radios, transmitters, broadband amplifiers;
• within 100 m (approx. 328') of network devices it's to be connected to.

DIN-Rail Installation

1 With DIN-rail bracket attached to device with screws, angle bracket onto DIN rail.
2 Push device in till it clicks into place.

Basic Web-Based Browser Management

1 Open your Web browser.
2 Enter http:// and the IP address of the switch in the Address field. The default management IP address is 192.168.2.1.
3 Press Enter to display the login screen. In the Username field, enter admin; in the Password field, enter the serial number on the bottom of the switch. Click OK.
