How to connect the Intellinet 562027 switch?

Connect the power cord to the rear panel input and then to a power outlet. Connect your network devices to the Ethernet ports using Cat5e/6/6a cables. The PWR LED should light up green.

What do the LED indicators mean?

The green PWR LED indicates power. Solid green Link/Act means connection established, blinking means activity. Solid green PoE indicates the connected device is powered via PoE.

How to isolate ports for a private VLAN?

Set the mode switch to 'VLAN' (see rear panel). Ports 1 to 8 will be isolated from each other but can communicate with ports 9 and 10 (uplink).

Can I use crossover cables?

No, all ports support Auto-MDI/MDI-X, so straight-through cables are sufficient for connecting PCs, routers, etc.

How to ground the switch?

Use the grounding terminal on the rear panel and connect it to a grounded object to protect against voltage spikes.

What to do if a Link/Act LED does not light up?

Can I stack multiple switches?

This model is not designed for stacking. You can cascade them by connecting a port to another switch using an Ethernet cable.

Does the switch support flow control?

Yes, in 'Flow Control' mode (middle position of the switch), flow control is enabled while allowing all ports to communicate.

How to clean the switch?

Disconnect the power supply. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. Never use liquids or chemicals.

LEDs

The LED indicators make it easier to monitor the switch and its connections.

Ports

All ports on the switch support Auto-MDI/MDI-X functionality, so crossover cables and uplink ports are not needed for connections to PCs, routers, other switches, etc. Cat5e/6/6a UTP/STP cables provide optimal performance; if a status LED doesn't indicate a link, check the corresponding device for proper setup and operation.

Power

Use the provided power adapter to plug the back of the switch into a power outlet and make sure the power LED is on.

Chassis Ground Column

Wire the grounding terminal to an earth-grounding object to prevent power spikes.

VLAN Flow Control Normal

VLAN Mode

The Switch features port isolation, also referred to as

"Private VLAN". It isolates all ports from each other and only allows access to the uplink port. This is useful, for example, if a private VLAN is a hotel where each room or apartment has a network port for Internet access. All ports can all access the Internet, but they cannot access each other.

Placement

Prior to use, it is recommended that the switch be placed/positioned:

• on a level surface that can support the weight of the switch
  • with a minimum of 25 mm (approx.

1") of clearance on the top and sides for adequate ventilation

• away from sources of electrical noise: radios, transmitters, broadband amplifiers, etc.
- where it cannot be affected by excessive moisture
