Caution!

Please read the following usage and safety instructions carefully before use, and follow the instructions for proper operation. Improper use will void the warranty and disclaimer.

  • The meter should never be dismantled by inexperienced persons under any circumstances. This should be performed done only by qualified technicians.
  • Persons or objects should not be present between the meter and the sound source so as to get an accurate reading and to ensure that the sound waves are not distorted by reflections.
  • Wind noises may distort the reading. Therefore, use the provided foam cover in windy conditions.
  • If you are measuring ambient noise outside, please place the wind cover on the microphone. Otherwise, the wind noise may distort the reading.
  • Calibrate the meter if it has not been used for a long time.
  • Do not store or use the device under high temperature and high humidity conditions.
  • Avoid heavy vibrations.

  • Remove the batteries if you do not intend to use the meter for a long time, in order to avoid damage due to electrolyte leakage.

  • When the batteries are empty, the symbol "☐" is shown on the LCD display. This means that the batteries are already empty and need to be replaced.
  • Clean the housing with a dry cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents

6. Calibration

The device is pre-calibrated and should be re-calibrated only by qualified technicians. A calibration screw is provided at the rear of the device for this purpose.

Caution! Calibrate the device only if you have the necessary technical expertise and equipment!

7. Operation and commissioning

Take the appliance out of the packaging and remove all the packaging material. Open the battery compartment at the back of the device and insert three 1.5 v AAA batteries. Then close the battery compartment cover. Press and hold the "ON/OFF" button for 3 seconds to switch on the device.

Measuring the sound level:

Press the ON/OFF button "after switching on the device to start the measurement. The current sound level reading is shown in the display after about one second. The reading changes if the noise level fluctuates.

Minimum and maximum function:

Press the "MIN/MAX" button. "MIN" or "MAX" is shown in the display. If you now take the next reading, either the minimum or the maximum reading from the current measurement is shown, depending on which mode (MIN or MAX) the device is in. The current data is retained until the corresponding value is exceeded or falls below. Press the "MIN/MAX" button to change or end the function.

Hold function:

Press the "Hold" button to retain the current reading. The HOLD function is active as long as "HOLD" is shown in the display. Press the button again to switch off the function.

LCD backlight:

Switch off:

8. Battery
