Thank you for choosing LANAFORM's Magic Sofa. The Magic Sofa lift chair provides optimum comfort for relaxation and also helps you move from sitting to standing without any effort. The easy use of the control box allows perfect operation and the leg rest inclines at the same time as the back rest for optimal comfort.

PLEASE READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR «MAGIC SOFA», ESPECIALLY THIS BASIC SAFETY INFORMATION :

• Only use the product according to the instructions given in this manual.
• This unit is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or persons with lack of experience or knowledge, unless a person responsible for their safety can supervise or instruct them beforehand in the use of the unit. Children should be supervised to make sure they do not play with the device.
• Do not use attachments that are not recommended by LANAFORM® or supplied with this unit.
• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a similar cord available from the supplier or the after sales service.
• Do not use the unit if the plug is damaged, if the unit is not working properly, if it has been dropped on the floor or if it is damaged or in contact with water. In this case have the unit examined and repaired by the supplier or his after sales service.
• Never use pins or other metallic fasteners with this unit.
• The Magic Sofa can support a maximum load of 130 kg.
  • Always unplug the unit after use or before cleaning.
• An electrical apparatus must never remain plugged in without supervision. Unplug it when you are not using it.
• Keep the power cord away from hot surfaces.
• Do not move the chair when it is inclined.
• Do not move this chair when it is in use or turned on.
• Do not sit on the leg rest or armrests, they are not intended for such use.
• A 15-minute rest period must be observed if the motor was used intensively for a short period of time.
• Do not support yourself on the leg rest or on the top of the backrest to sit down as the chair may tip over.
  • Always keep the chair in the sitting position when it is not used.
• Periodically inspect your chair for any signs of damage, cuts, tears or a damaged frame. Check the remote control. If you find any defect, do not try to use the chair. Consult the dealer or the carrier for the procedure to follow. Users must not dismantle the chair themselves.
• Do not leave the chair in the lifting position.
• The chair is designed to be used only by one person at a time.
• The remote control is intended to be used only by the occupant of the chair.
• For optimal operation, place the chair more than 65 cm away from walls or other obstructions.
• Never use this unit for sleeping. It is not intended for that purpose.
• The covering of this product is not designed to withstand fire. It is therefore forbidden to smoke in the chair or to use any source of heat.
• Never let anything drop or insert any object into any openings.
  • This chair is intended for indoor use only.
• Do not move the chair when it is in the inclined or lifting position or when the power is on.
• Never use the unit in a room where aerosol (spray) is used or where oxygen is being administered.
• When disconnecting the unit, make sure that the «On/Off» button is in the off position before removing the power plug.

• If you are concerned about your health, consult a physician before using the product.

• If you experience any pain during the use of this product, stop using it immediately and consult your doctor.

• Do not use this unit for more than 15 minutes at a time.
• Never use this unit on a body part that is swollen or inflamed or in the case of skin rash.
• Check that the voltage of your power grid corresponds to that of the unit.
• Do not use the Magic Sofa if its covering is damaged.
• Do not drop anything on the product. This may affect its correct operation.
  • We advise you not to eat or drink while using the Magic Sofa.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

1) Remove the chair from the box.
Precaution : Be sure to remove and dispose of the moisture protection sachets.
2) Place the chair on a flat surface. Adjust the levelling feet located at the front of the Magic Sofa. Turn the levelling feet clockwise to lengthen them and anticlockwise to shorten them. (picture 1)
3) Take the backrest and attach it using the fasteners provided for this purpose, checking that the metal bars slide correctly into the rails of the chair. For convenience, refer to the diagram. (picture 2)
4) Then connect the chair to the mains outlet. The Magic Sofa is now powered.
5) Finally, replace the backrest fabric correctly and secure it with Velcro strips. (picture 3)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

The control handle lets you operate the motor to move the chair up or down or recline it.

Setting the chair positions :

To lie down

Press the «Down» button.

This function allows you to lay the chair down; the backrest reclines and the footrest rises.

To sit up

Press the «Up» button.

This allows you to straighten the chair after its horizontal use to return it to its original position.

To rise up

Press again the «Up» button and the chair will rise to let you get out more easily.

To return the chair to its original position, press «Down».

Note : It is recommended to place the chair in its original position before removing the power plug.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

Storage

• Unplug the product from the power outlet and wait a few minutes before storing.
• Place the Magic Sofa in its box or in a dry place.
• Avoid bringing it into contact with sharp edges and other sharp objects that could cut or puncture the fabric surface.
• To avoid breaking the power cable, do not wrap it around the chair.

Cleaning

• Unplug the product from the power outlet and wait a few minutes before cleaning it.
• Clean it with a soft and slightly damp sponge.
• Never allow water or other liquids to come into contact with the Magic Sofa.
• Never use abrasive cleaners, brushes, or a thinner.

ADVICE REGARDING THE DISPOSAL OF WASTE

- All the packaging is composed of materials that pose no hazard for the environment and which can be disposed of at your local sorting centre to be used as secondary raw materials. The cardboard may be disposed of in a paper recycling bin. The packaging film must be taken to your local sorting and recycling centre.

- When you have finished using the device, please dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way and in accordance with the law.

LIMITED WARRANTY

LANAFORM® guarantees this product against any material or manufacturing defect for a period of two years from the date of purchase, except in the circumstances described below.

The LANAFORM® guarantee does not cover damage caused as a result of normal wear to this product. In addition, the guarantee covering this LANAFORM® product does not cover damage caused by abusive or inappropriate or incorrect use, accidents, the use of unauthorized accessories, changes made to the product or any other circumstance, of whatever sort, that is outside LANAFORM®'s control.

LANAFORM® may not be held liable for any type of circumstantial, indirect or specific damage.

All implicit guarantees relating to the suitability of the product are limited to a period of two years from the initial date of purchase as long as a copy of the proof of purchase can be supplied.

On receipt, LANAFORM® will repair or replace your appliance at its discretion and will return it to you. The guarantee is only valid through LANAFORM®'s Service Centre®. Any attempt to maintain this product by a person other than LANAFORM®'s Service Centre will render this guarantee void.
