Operating and Safety Instructions

FOR INDOOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY

When using this or any other electrical appliance, always follow these basic safety precautions, especially when children are present.

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE

WARNING-To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, serious personal injury and property damage please note the following:

  • This product is not intended for use by children. Keep the product out of the reach of children and pets. Extra caution is necessary when using this appliance near children.
  • Always ensure the product is unplugged from the electrical outlet and allowed to cool before assembling, disassembling, relocating, or cleaning it.
  • Do not leave the product unattended while it is in use. Always unplug the product from the electrical outlet when not in use.
  • Do not immerse the Base, Power Cord, or Plug of this product in or expose the Power Cord or Plug to water or other liquids.
  • Take proper precautions to prevent burns, fire, or personal or property damage as this appliance generates heat and steam during use.
  • Do not use attachments not recommended or sold by the product manufacturer.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, in a heated oven, or other heated surfaces.
  • Use the product in a well-ventilated area. Keep at least 4-6 inches of space on all sides of the product to allow adequate air circulation.
  • Use appliance on a table or flat surface.
  • Keep the product away from curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dishtowels, or other flammable materials.
  • Do not plug or unplug the product from the electrical outlet with a wet hand.
  • This product is intended solely for non-commercial, non-industrial, household use in cooking of food for human consumption; do not use the product outdoors or for any other purpose.
  • Do not operate the product empty.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter where it may be tripped over or pulled. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not operate the product if it has a damaged or cut Power Cord or plug, if wires are exposed, if it malfunctions, if it is dropped or damaged, or if the Motor Housing is dropped in or exposed to water.
  • This product has no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to examine or repair this product yourself. Please review the Warranty Policy on Page 7.
  • Do not put any stress on the power cord where it connects to the product, as the power cord could fray and break.
  • The marked electrical rating must be at least as great as that of the product;
  • If the product is of a 3-prong grounding type, the extension cord must be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
  • Arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over or pulled.

WARNING: This product is equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other blade) to reduce the risk of electrical shock. This is a safety feature. The plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If you are unable to insert the plug into the electrical outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use the plug with an extension cord unless you can fully insert the plug into the extension cord. Do not alter the plug. Do not attempt to defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.

MINCING SETUP

  1. Insert the feeding screw into the grinder house, the plastic end first. Fit the cutting blade unit onto the other end of feeding screw. (The cutting edge should be placed at the front side). An then you can also fit the coarse or fine cutting plate (Depending on the consistency you prefer Make sure the notch of the cutting plate fits into the opening on the cutter house. Fit the scre ring on the grinder head by turning the screw ring clockwise until it is properly fastened.
  2. Fit the grinder head on the unit. The lugs on the motor unit must fit precisely into the slots on the grinder head. Rotate the grinder head counter-clockwise until hear a click. The grinder head is now locked into position. You can remove the grinder head by pressing the release button of the appliance and turning the cutter housing clockwise.
  3. Place the hopper/tray on the upright part of the grinder head.
  4. Now the appliance is ready for mincing.

MINCING:

Cut the meat into 3-inch-long, 1-inch-thick strips. Remove bones, pieces of gristle and sinews as much as possible.

Note: never use frozen meat!

Place the meat on the Hopper / tray. Use the plunger to gently push the meat down.

MAKING SAUSAGES

  1. Mince the meat first. (see 'Mincing' instructions)
  2. Switch off the appliance. Press the release button on the appliance and turn the grinder head slowly clockwise to remove it from the motor unit.

Note: Make sure the appliance is switched off and has stopped running completely before

you remove the grinder head.

  1. Remove the screw ring by turn it counter-clockwise.

  2. Remove the cutting plate.

  3. Fit separator ring and sausage horn on the metal end of feeding screw. Then fit the screw ring on the grinder head by turning the screw ring clockwise until it is properly fastened. Make sure the notch of separator fit into the opening of the grinder head.

  4. Fit the grinder head onto the motor unit. The lugs on the motor unit must fit precisely into the slots on the grinder head. Rotate the grinder head counter-clockwise until you hear a click. The grinder head is now locked into position.

  5. Place the hopper/tray on the upright part of the grinder head.

  6. Now the appliance is ready for making sausages.

  7. Put the ingredients in the hopper/tray. Use the plunger to gently push the meat into the grinder head.

  8. Put the sausage skin in lukewarm water for 10 minutes. Then slide the wet skin onto the sausage horn.

  9. Push the (seasoned) minced meat into the cutter housing. *If the skin gets stuck onto the sausage horn, wet it with some water.

MAKING KUBBE

  1. Insert the feeding screw into the cutter housing, the plastic end first.

  2. Fit the Kubbe/cone attachment on the metal end of screw pusher, and then fit the Kubbe former attachment. Make sure the notch of the Kubbe/cone attachment fits into the opening of grinder head.

  3. Fit the screw ring on the grinder head by turning the screw ring clockwise until it is properly fastened.

  4. Fit the cutter housing on the motor unit. The lugs on the motor unit must fit precisely into the slots on the grinder head. Rotate the grinder head counter-clockwise until you hear a click. The grinder head is then locked into the position.

  5. Place the hopper / tray on the upright part of the grinder head.

  6. The appliance is ready for making Kubbe.

REVERSE

  1. To use the reverse feature, the meat grinder knob must be on the 'll' option. Once you have selected the 'll' option, the REV button will now operate. The knob must be on the 'll' for it to work. Once the knob is on the 'll' you may now engage the reverse gear by

pressing the 'REV' button. Keep pressing 'REV' until you get the desired meat unclogged from the grinder. This feature will make the feeding screw turn in the reverse direction.

  1. Once you have unclogged the grinder, switch the knob back to 'I' to continue using the grinder. Then the appliance can continue its normal operation.

AUTO SHUT OFF

This appliance is equipped with a thermostat system. This system will automatically cut off the supply power in case of overheating. If this happens, unplug the appliance and let the appliance cool down for 1 hour before using again.

OPERATION TIPS

  • Never use your finger or an object to push ingredients down the feed tube while the appliance is running. Only the pusher is to be used for this purpose.
  • Wait until moving parts have stopped running before you remove the parts of the appliance.
  • Do not attempt to grind bones, nuts, or other hard units.
  • Never reach into the cutter housing. Always use the pusher.
  • Unplug the appliance immediately after use.
  • Never operate the appliance continuously for more than 10 minutes.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • The use of this appliance by children or persons with a physical, sensory, mental, or motorial disability, or lack of experience and knowledge can give cause to hazards. Persons responsible for their safety should give explicit instructions or supervise the use of the appliance.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Remove Plug from socket. CLEAN THE APPLIANCE IMMEDIATELY AFTER EACH USE. DISMANTLE REMOVABLE PARTS ONLY WHEN ALL MOVING PARTS HAVE STOPPED RUNNING. WARNING: DO NOT SUBMERGE MOTOR UNIT IN WATER OR IN ANY OTHER LIQUIDS. IF THIS HAPPENS DON'T USE THE APPLIANCE ANYMORE, DISPOSE OF THE APPLIANCE.

Apart from the motor unit, all removable parts can be cleaned in hot, soapy water. Do not use any abrasive or corrosive cleaning products or scourers. Do not clean parts in dishwasher. Clean the motor unit with a damp cloth. Dry them thoroughly before storage.

MAINTENANCE:

  • Only process meat without bones and/or skin
  • Wash the cutting disc every time after use and wipe dry, coat it with a few drops of edible oil to prevent rusting

The separator, sausage horn, former and cone can be stored in the pusher. See figure 5

This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product, at our option; however, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us and our returning a product or component under this warranty to you. If the product or component is no longer available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater value. This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse.

This warranty is void if the product is used for other than single-family household use or subjected to any voltage and waveform other that a specified on the rating label (E.G., 120V\~60Hz). We exclude all claims for special, incidental, and consequential damages caused by breach of express or implied warranty. All liability is limited to the amount of the purchase price. Every implied warranty, including any statutory warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, is disclaimed except to the extent prohibited by law, in which case such warranty or condition is limited to the duration of this written warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may have other legal rights that vary depending on where you live. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or special, incidental, or consequential damages, so the foregoing limitations may not apply to you. To make a warranty claim do not return this appliance to the store.
