Operating and Safety Instructions

FOR INDOOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY

When using this or any other electrical appliance, always follow these basic safety precautions, especially when children are present.

READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, serious personal injury and property damage, please note the following:

  • Before each use, inspect the appliance for any visible damage. If any parts are broken or damaged, do not use the appliance and refer to the warranty policy on page 8 for guidance.
  • During initial use, you may notice a smoky smell as protective coatings on the appliance's parts burn off. This is normal. To prepare the appliance for regular use, fill it with water and let it run once. Then discard the water and clean the appliance before using it.
  • Always use the appliance on a dry, level, and heat-resistant surface. Do not place it near the edge of a table or counter to prevent tipping or accidental spills.
  • This appliance is not a toy. Do not allow children or pets near the appliance during operation or while it is cooling down.
  • Do not substitute or use extension cords, adapters, or power strips. Only the cord included should be used to ensure safe and correct operation.
  • Ensure the power cord does not encounter hot surfaces or hang over edges where it could be pulled or damaged.
  • Always ensure your hands are dry before plugging in or unplugging the appliance to avoid the risk of electric shock.
  • Plug the appliance into a grounded household electrical outlet that matches the voltage stated on the product label.
  • Do not overfill the appliance or use it with too little water. Overfilling may cause boiling water to spill out, while underfilling may result in dry boiling.
  • During boiling, make sure the lid is tightly closed to prevent hot steam or liquid from escaping and causing burns.
  • Running the appliance without water or food can damage the heating element and shorten its lifespan.
  • Foods like porridge, sauces, or thick soups may clog or cause overboiling in kettle mode. Use the hotpot side for such cooking instead.
  • Always monitor the appliance while it is in use, especially when boiling water or cooking food that may boil over.

  • The appliance surfaces become extremely hot during operation. Only touch the handles designed for safe handling.

  • Make sure the appliance is turned off and the power switch is in the center position before disconnecting from the power source.
  • Always unplug the appliance when not in use, and before cleaning or moving it. Do not pull the cord to unplug; grasp the plug directly.
  • Do not submerge the base or plug in water or any liquid. Doing so could result in electric shock or damage to the appliance.
  • Do not attempt to clean or disassemble the appliance immediately after use. Let all parts cool down to avoid burns and accidental damage.
  • Regular cleaning helps prevent mineral buildup and leftover residue, ensuring consistent performance and hygiene.
  • To protect the inner surface of the appliance, only use silicone, plastic, or wooden utensils.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

- Overheat protection is a safety feature designed to prevent the appliance from reaching dangerously high temperatures that could damage the appliance or pose safety risks. If it happens, follow these safety precautions to ensure safe handling and avoid damage or injury:

  1. Immediately switch off the appliance using the power button. If there is no response, unplug it from the power source.
  2. Allow the appliance to sit untouched and cool naturally. This could take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes.
  3. Once the appliance has cooled, check the cause of the overheating. Below are the common causes:

■ Operating with no or too little water (dry boiling).
■ Cooking thick or sticky foods in kettle mode.
■ Malfunctioning thermostat or auto shut off.
■ Blocked steam vent or improper lid position.
■ Continuous use without cooling breaks.

  1. Plug it back in and turn it on again. If the appliance operates normally, the overheat protection just did its job.
  2. If issues persist, refer to the warranty policy on page 8 for guidance.

- A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Using an extension cord with the appliance is not recommended. However, if one must be used:

  • The marked electrical rating of the extension cord must be at least as great as that of the appliance.
    ○ Arrange the extension cord so that it does not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over or pulled.

WARNING: The appliance is equipped with a 3-prong grounding plug as a safety feature. The plug will fit into an outlet in only one orientation. Never use the plug with an extension cord unless you can fully insert the plug into the extension cord and the extension cord must be a 3-wire grounding-type cord. Do not attempt to bypass the safety purpose of the plug.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Let the appliance cool down completely before cleaning.
  2. Once cooled, wipe the interior and exterior with a damp cloth to remove any residue.
WARNING: Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.

  3. Store the appliance in a clean, dry place.

IMPORTANT: Descale the appliance every 1 to 3 months, depending on the hardness of your water. If you have very hard water, you may need to descale more frequently.

  1. To make the descaling solution:

a. To descale with vinegar, mix a 1:1 ratio of white distilled vinegar and water. For example, use 1 cup of vinegar and 1 cup of water.

b. To descale with citric acid, dissolve 1-2 tablespoons of citric acid in about 2 cups of water. The exact amount may vary depending on the level of buildup.

c. To descale with a commercial descaling solution, read and follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the commercial descaling product. Typically, you will mix a specific amount of descaling solution with water.

  1. Pour the solution into the appliance, filling it up to the maximum fill line.

  2. Turn the appliance on and allow the solution to come to a full boil. Once it reaches a boil, turn off the appliance and let the solution sit inside for about 15-30 minutes to loosen the mineral buildup.

WARNING: Do not touch hot surfaces during or immediately after use.

  1. After soaking, pour out the solution and fill the appliance with clean water.

Swirl it around, then pour it out. Wipe the interior with a damp cloth. You may need to repeat the rinsing and wiping process a few times to fully remove any remaining solution.

WARNING: Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.

  1. To ensure the appliance is fully cleaned, fill the appliance with clean water, boil it once, and discard the water to ensure no residue remains.

WARNING: Do not touch hot surfaces during or immediately after use.
