Operating and Safety Instructions

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using this or any other electrical appliance, always follow these basic safety precautions, especially when children are present.

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
WARNING-- To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, serious personal injury and property damage please note the following:
- Read all Instructions.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do not immerse cord, plugs, Kettle or Power Base in water or other liquid.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off part and before cleaning appliance.
- Do not operate any appliances with a damaged cord or plug or after to appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off” then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

This product is not intended for use by children. Keep the product out of the reach of children and pets. Extra caution is necessary when using this appliance near children.

Always ensure the product is unplugged from the electrical outlet and allowed to cool before assembling, disassembling, relocating, or cleaning it.
- The kettle is only to be used with the stand that has been provided.
- Check that the voltage of this appliance is corresponding to the one of your electric system.
- Do not leave the product unattended while it is in use. Always unplug the product from the electrical outlet when not in use.
- Do not immerse the Base, Power Cord, or Plug of this product in or expose the Power Cord or Plug to water or other liquids.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs when handling product. Use protective oven mitts or gloves when removing the Lid or handling hot containers to avoid burns or personal injury.
- Take proper precautions to prevent burns, fire, or personal or property damage as this appliance generates heat and steam during use.
- Do not use attachments not recommended or sold by the product manufacturer. Attachments, when furnished, may become hot during use. Allow any attachments to cool before handling them.
- Keep the appliance and the power supply cord away from any wet surface. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, in a heated oven, or other heated surfaces.
- Turn off the switch before removing the kettle from the base.
- Do not overfill the Kettle.
- Do not immerse the Kettle or base into water.
- Use extreme caution when moving an appliance containing hot food, water, or other liquids.
- Use the product in a well-ventilated area. Keep at least 4-6 inches of space on all sides of the product to allow adequate air circulation.
- Use appliance on a table or flat surface.
- Keep the product away from curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dishtowels, or other flammable materials.
- Do not plug or unplug the product from the electrical outlet with a wet hand.
- This product is intended solely for non-commercial, non-industrial, household use in cooking of food for human consumption; do not use the product outdoors or for any other purpose.
- Do not operate the product empty.

Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter where it may be tripped over or pulled. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces.

Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
- Do not attempt to examine or repair this product yourself. Only qualified service personnel should perform any servicing; take the product to the appliance repair shop of your choice for inspection and repair.
- Do not put any stress on the power cord where it connects to the product, as the power cord could fray and break.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
a. Turn spout away from you while it is warming, it will release hot steam and scalding may occur.
b. Do NOT fill the kettle while it's positioned on Base. Wipe off any excess water on the bottom of the kettle before placing it on the base.
c. To prolong the life of the Kettle do not refill it right way after use. Wait for the Kettle to cool down before refilling.
d. A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is to be provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
e. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
f. If a long detachable power-supply cord extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
- If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be grounding type 3-wire cord.
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

Before First Use
IMPORTANT: Please check all packaging material carefully before discarding as there may be accessory parts contained within the packaging material.
WARNING: Do not place any part of the product in a dishwasher.
Before your first official use we recommend running your Kettle.

Fill the Kettle to the maximum level mark on the appliance with fresh tap water.

Bring it to a boil.

Empty the water from the Kettle. Once cooled, rinse Kettle with water.
- Repeat process at least 2 times to ensure your Kettle is clean before use.
Attention: First use may cause a slight odor or small smoking upon heating, it is normal. This is a result of the heating element chemical reaction. It quickly goes away.
Using Your Kettle:
- Pull out the power cord from the base unit and connect it to a power outlet.
- Remove kettle from power base then open the lid to fill Kettle with water.
CAUTION: Do not overfill the product or operate it when empty. - Close the lid. Wipe off any excess water on the bottom of the kettle before placing it onto the base. Place the Kettle back onto the base unit.
- Turn the Kettle on by pushing the switch from "O" (off) to "I" (on). The light on the Power Base will illuminate to indicate the Kettle is heating.
- The Kettle will automatically switch off to the "O" position once the water has boiled. The indicator light will also turn off.
Note: The power switch only works when the Kettle body is correctly placed on power base.
- Lift the Kettle from the base using its handle and pour out hot water into your container.
Note: If you need to heat water again, let the appliance rest for 1 minute before starting again.
- When heating is complete, make sure the power switch is on the "O" position, and then unplug the product from the electrical outlet.
Note: Always unplug the product from the electrical outlet when it is not in use or unattended.
Cleaning Your Kettle:
WARNING: Always unplug the product and allow it to cool completely before cleaning or storing it.
NOTICE: To avoid damaging the product, do not pour cold water into the Appliance after use. Do not use abrasive cleaners/pads to clean any part of the product.
- Make sure the Kettle is empty and has had time to cool before handling it.
- Do not run any part of this appliance in the Dishwasher.
- Remove Kettle from base and clean with non-abrasive cleaners and warm soapy water.
- Base should only be cleaned with a soft damp towel and dried before storing. DO NOT USE RUNNING WATER.
- Dry all parts thoroughly before storing or using again.
