Thank you very much for your purchase. We hope you enjoy using the new ultrasonic cleaner.

The vibrations triggered by ultrasonic waves which are passed into the cleaning liquid thoroughly remove deep-down dirt from the surface of many objects which are normally difficult to clean.

These operating instructions help to get yourself familiarised with your new ultrasonic cleaner.

Please read them carefully before using your new device.

Please pay particular attention to the safety instructions in order to avoid accidents and damage.

Please keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.

Designated Usage

This appliance is only approved for private use and not for commercial purposes.

Using the product for any purposes other than these explained in this manual will invalidate the warranty.

Please contact the retailer where you purchased the item if you are unsure whether this device is suitable for cleaning the respective item or whether the item may become damaged when used in conjunction with this device. Or contact your specialist shop (jeweler, clock repair shop, etc.) or manufacturer of the item for additional information.

We are not responsible for scratched or otherwise damaged items.

Safety Instructions

- Read the operating instructions carefully before using your ultrasonic cleaner.

If the appliance is passed to another user, please pass on this manual too.

- After use, store the ultrasonic cleaner in a safe place and out of reach of children.

• Do not use the appliance near filled baths, washbasins or other containers.
• Never immerse the cleaner in water or in any other liquid.

- If the cleaner falls into water, unplug from mains immediately. Do not reach into the water.

• Never continue to use a defective appliance.
• Repairs are to be carried out by a specialist trader or by our Service Centre only.
• As additional protection the installation of a residual-current protective device with a rated trip current of no more than 30 mA in the electrical circuit is recommended.

Ask advice from your electrician.

- Always make sure that your hands and the plug are completely dry before plugging in or unplugging the device (danger of electric shock!).

- Never reach into the cleaning liquid during operation: ultrasound is harmful to the skin and bones!

- This device is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with restricted physical, sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of experience and/or lack of knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for safety or receive instructions from that person on how the device is to be used. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Before Use

Unpacking and assembling the Sinus Ultra:

Carefully take the device out of the box, remove the transport packaging and check that no damage has been caused during transport and that the delivery is complete:

1 x basket insert - 1 x curved insert.

If items are missing or if your new device is damaged, please contact the Carrera Service Center (for address, see page 27). Please keep the original packaging so that you can send the device safely to our Service Center if it ever needs to be repaired.

Place the ultrasonic cleaner on a firm, even surface so that it cannot tip or tilt. The surface should be easy to clean, well lit and easily accessible. Do not place the device on surfaces which could get hot, e.g. cooker hobs or next to a gas cooker.

Use

Open the lid of the device. Place the item to be cleaned in the middle of the basket insert supplied to achieve the best cleaning result.

Cleaning watch straps:

You can use the curved insert supplied for metal watch straps.

As it rises above the MAX marking, you can place watches in the device. You do not need to remove the watch from the strap; simply fix the watch in such a way that the watch part itself is above the cleaning liquid (see ill. page 57).

Important: If the watch mechanism is immersed in the liquid, it may be damaged by the ultrasonic waves during the cleaning process.

Then fill the tank with water.

If the tank overflows, wipe the outside of the device dry immediately. The liquid must cover the item to be cleaned, but should never come above the maximum filling depth marking.

Attention: If you carry out the cleaning without water, you could damage the ultrasonic cleaner.

Close the lid and plug in the device.

Warning: The mains voltage should be 220-240 V \~ (see rating plate on underside of device).

A blue indicator lamp illuminates the interior and indicates that cleaning is in process. During the cleaning process, a low vibrating noise can be heard; this is caused by the cleaning process running in the fluid tank.

You can use the timer button ③(clock symbol) to select one of three processing times: 3, 5 or 10 minutes, depending on the type and size of the object and how dirty it is. Each time you turn the device on, the processing time "3 minutes" is pre-selected by default.

Attention! Optical lenses (whether glass or plastic) are not permitted to be cleaned in the ultrasound bath for more than one minute. This means that you must manually interrupt the cleaning process for these objects after one minute (press the ON/OFF button for the timer ④).

You can select the processing time that you want by repeatedly pressing the timer button ③(clock symbol). A red LED ⑤lights and indicates which processing time you have selected.

To start or stop the selected cleaning process, press the ON/OFF button for the timer ④. After the processing time that you have selected has completed, the cleaning process is automatically ended and the blue indicator lamp goes out. To stop the cleaning process before the timer has expired, press the ON/OFF button for the timer ④.

After the cleaning process has ended, pull the plug out of the socket with earth contact, open the cover ② and remove the cleaned object from the device. Rinse the cleaned object briefly under running water in order to remove any remaining dirt particles and cleaning agent residue

To prevent the formation of lime scale, empty the water out of the cleaning tank and wipe it out with a piece of cloth or our professional microfibre cloth (made by Vileda).

Important: Never use the ultrasonic cleaner without the basket inside. Otherwise, the object to be cleaned could be scratched.

Please note the following: Accessories, stickers or decorations that are loosely fixed to objects and other parts e.g. screws on/in glasses that are not firmly fixed may come off during the cleaning process.

Therefore, please clean above mentioned parts once a month only.

Items to be cleaned (examples of use):

Jewellery: Necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets, watch chains, etc.

Metal items: Watch/clock components, coins, medals, badges, valves, parts of devices (e.g. cutting parts), etc.

Writing materials: Pen nibs, ballpoint pen sleeves, printer nozzles, signature stamps, etc.

Hygiene articles: Toothbrushes, false teeth, braces, pacifiers, also: electric razor heads, razor blades, etc.

Optical items: Spectacles*, sunglasses*, magnifying glasses* etc.

\* Warning notes:

• AI optical glasses (glass or synthetic) must not be cleaned for more than 1 minute in the ultrasonic bath.
• Polycarbonate glasses(synthetic) must not be cleaned in any case in the ultrasonic bath.
• Use the provided basket insert for every cleaning procedure.

The following items are not suitable ultrasonic cleaning:

Wood, real pearls, leather goods, clock/watch mechanisms, material with sensitive surfaces or with surface which is already scratched or damaged, electrical equipment.

Cleaning concentrate:

For problematic dirt, such as fat, resin build-up, rust, pigments, wax, etc. that cannot be removed with an universal cleaning product, special cleaning concentrates should be used.

Please read the manufacturer's warnings and information carefully before use.

Only use special cleaning solutions for ultrasonic cleaners (also available from our service center, see page 27) or a few drops of a mild dishwasher detergent.

General cleaning

Use normal water for general cleaning.

To achieve a better cleaning result, you can add a few drops of universal cleaner. As a universal cleansing agent we recommend household washing-up liquid – preferably without regreasing additives ("balsam").

(The water should completely cover the item to be cleaned, but should not exceed the maximum filling depth.).

Thorough cleaning

For professional cleaning, special cleaning concentrates can/should be used.

Please find out which concentrate is the most suitable for the items you wish to clean and the type of dirt.

Please read the information on the manufacturer's packaging.

Partial cleaning

To clean parts of larger items, the device can be used with the lid open, as shown in the picture.

Do not reach into the liquid during cleaning.

Cleaning and Care

Make sure that the device is switched off each time after use and unplug it from the mains.

Danger of electric shock!

The device, cable or plug should never be immersed in water or any other liquid for cleaning and care.

Do not clean the ultrasonic cleaner with harsh cleaning products or sharp objects.

Please clean the tank with a piece of cloth and wipe dry.

To prevent the formation of lime scale, do not leave any water in the tank after use and/or cleaning.

Keep the device in a cool, dry place, well out of reach of children.

Do not make changes to the device or the connecting cord. Repairs should be carried out by the Service Center or an authorized repair center only.

Disposal

Do not dispose of the appliance via your domestic refuse. Please contact your local administration for environmentally compatible appliance disposal ("electronic waste").

Problems and Remedies

	No cleaning product added.	Add a cleaning product depending on type of dirt (see on page 21/22).

Please note that incorrect or improper handling of the device, failure to comply with the safety precautions that apply to the device, use of force or alterations or repairs that are carried out by a party other than the service address that we have authorized void the guarantee.

Furthermore, components that are subject to normal wear and tear or use are excluded from the guarantee.

Guarantee and Service

Under our terms of warranty, we guarantee that our technical appliances will provide faultless quality and function.

The guarantee period is 36 months from the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase.

The trader's legal guarantee obligation is not limited by this guarantee. During the guarantee period, you can send defective appliances to the Service Center (see address below), postage paid. Then you will receive a new appliance or get the repaired one back free of charge. Parcels not prepaid cannot be accepted.

Please use the original packaging in order to avoid any damages in transit and enclose a copy of the receipt. A detailed description of the complaint will help reduce repair time.

After expiry of the guarantee period, you can still send a defective appliance to the address below, also postage paid. Then, however, repairs made will be at your expense.
