CLOTHING IMPORTANT: Always unplug the appliance from the power socket during cleaning and maintenance.
1. Carefully place the PS657 shredder on a dry, at, level surface.
2. Ensure that the motor unit is tted in place on top of the waste bin.

The power switch is located on the top of the shredder. The switch has four settings: FWD (forward), AUTO, OFF, REV (reverse). When AUTO is selected, the shredding process is started automatically by inserting paper into the feed opening. The shredder will also stop automatically when the paper has completed its travel through the feed opening. REV mode is used to assist in the removal of a paper jam. This reverses the shredding process before the cycle nished, thus clearing the cutting blades. Select the OFF mode when emptying the waste bin or when the shredder is not in use for a long period of time. FWD mode is also used to assist in the removal of a paper jam. By selecting this mode, the machine’s blades will keep rotating continuously even if no paper is inserted. This will help clear the blades and remove any remaining pieces of paper from the blades. You are now ready to start shredding.
