Frequently Asked Questions - EMCF302 EAS Electric

How to adjust the temperature of my EAS Electric EMCF302 freezer?
The adjustment knob is located in the lower right corner. Positions 1 to 3 correspond to refrigeration mode (3 being the coldest), and positions 4 to 9 correspond to freezing mode (9 being the coldest). The recommended setting is 6 for freezing and 2 for refrigeration.
How to defrost the freezer?
Unplug the appliance and open the door. Remove food and baskets. Place a container under the drain hole. The frost melts naturally; you can use an ice scraper to speed up the process. Never use mechanical tools or chemical products.
What to do if the door does not close properly?
Check that nothing is blocking the door (food, packaging). Make sure the freezer is level. If the problem persists, the tilt may be the cause; adjust the feet.
Why is my freezer making noise?
A humming noise is normal when the compressor is running. Noises from refrigerant gas circulation are also normal. Check that the appliance is stable and that accessories are properly positioned.
How to clean the interior of the freezer?
Unplug the appliance and remove all food. Mix two tablespoons of baking soda in a liter of warm water. Clean with a soft cloth, rinse with clean water and dry. Leave the door open before plugging back in.
What to do in case of a power outage?
Avoid opening the door. Food can stay frozen for several hours. Do not add fresh food to the freezer during the outage.
Why is there condensation on the door gaskets?
This is normal when ambient humidity is high. Wipe with a clean cloth. If condensation persists, check the gaskets for sealing.
How to replace the interior bulb?
Unplug the appliance. Remove the bulb cover. Unscrew the old bulb (max 15W) and install the new one by screwing it in. Replace the cover and plug back in.
What are important safety precautions?
Do not store flammable substances. Do not use electrical appliances inside. Do not damage the refrigeration circuit. Keep ventilation openings clear.
How to save energy with my freezer?
Place the appliance in a cool location, away from heat sources. Let food cool down before storing. Pack food well and do not overload the freezer. Open the door as little as possible.

heat producing appliances or heating ducts, and out of the direct sunlight.

Overloading the appliance forces the compressor to run longer. Foods that freeze too slowly may lose quality, or spoil.

the appliance. This cuts down on frost build-up inside the appliance.

paper toweling. Liners interfere with cold air circulation, making the appliance less efficient.

Remove as many items as needed at one time, and close the door as soon as possible.

3. Maintenance of freezer

3.1 Overall cleaning

Dusts behind the freezer and on the ground shall be timely cleaned to improve the cooling effect and energy saving.

Please turn off the power before cleaning interior, remove all foods, basket, container, etc.

Use a soft cloth or sponge to clean the inside of the freezer, with two tablespoons of baking soda and a quart of warm water. Then rinse with water and wipe clean. After cleaning, open the door and let it dry naturally before turning on the power.

For areas that are difficult to clean in the freezer (such as narrow sandwiches, gaps or corners), it is recommended to wipe them regularly with a soft rag, soft brush, etc. and when necessary, combined with some auxiliary tools (such as thin sticks) to ensure no contaminants or bacterial accumulation in these areas.

Do not use soap, detergent, scrub powder, spray cleaner, etc., as these may cause odors in the interior of the freezer or contaminated food.

Clean the baskets with a soft cloth dampened with soapy water or diluted detergent. Dry with a soft cloth or dry naturally.

Wipe the outer surface of the freezer with a soft cloth dampened with soapy water, detergent, etc., and then wipe dry.

Failed operationCheck whether the appliance is connected to power or whether the plug is in well contact Check whether the voltage is too low Check whether there is a power failure or partial circuits have tripped
SmellOdorous foods shall be tightly wrapped Check whether there is any rotten food Clean the inside of the freezer
Long-time operation of the compressorLong operation of the freezer is normal in summer when the ambient temperature is high It is not suggestible having too much food in the appliance at the same time Food shall get cool before being put into the appliance The doors are opened too frequently Thick frost layer (defrost is needed)
Light fails to get litCheck whether the freezer is connected to power supply and whether the illuminating light is damaged
Doors cannot be properly closedThe door is stuck by food packages Too much food; Unbalanced freezer
Loud noiseCheck whether the floor is level and whether the freezer is placed stably. Check whether accessories are placed at proper locations
Transient difficulty in door openingAfter refrigeration, there will be pressure difference between the inside and outside of the freezer to result in transient difficulty in door opening. This is a normal physical phenomenon.
Freezer enclosure heat CondensationThe freezer enclosure may emit heat during operation specially in summer. This is cause by the radiation of the condenser and it is a normal phenomenon. Condensation on the exterior surface and door seals of the freezer is normal when the ambient humidity is too high. Just wipe the condensate with a clean towel.
Abnormal noisesRefrigerants circulating in the refrigerant lines will produce eruption of sound and grunts which is normal and does not affect the cooling effect. Buzz will be generated by running compressor, specially when starting up or shutting down. The solenoid valve or electric switch valve will clatter, which is a nomal phenomenon and does not affect the operation.
