Hot/Cold Pack Delay

When the charger detects a battery pack that is too hot or too cold, it automatically starts a Hot/Cold Pack Delay, suspending charging until the battery pack has reached an appropriate temperature. The charger then automatically switches to the pack charging mode. This feature ensures maximum battery pack life.

A cold battery pack may charge at a slower rate than a warm battery pack.

The hot/cold pack delay will be indicated by the green light(s) continuing to blink but with the red light continuously ON. Once the battery pack has reached an appropriate temperature, the red light will turn OFF and the charger will resume the charging procedure.

Electronic Protection System

Li-ion tools are designed with an Electronic Protection System that will protect the battery pack against overloading, overheating or deep discharge. The tool will automatically turn off and the battery pack will need to be recharged.

Important Charging Notes

  1. Longest life and best performance can be obtained if the battery pack is charged when the air temperature is between 65^ - 75^ (18^ - 24^) . DO NOT charge when the battery pack is below 40^ (4.5^) , or above 104^ (40^) . This is important and will prevent serious damage to the battery pack.
  2. The charger and battery pack may become warm to the touch while charging. This is a normal condition, and does not indicate a problem. To facilitate the cooling of the battery pack after use, avoid placing the charger or battery pack in a warm environment such as in a metal shed or an uninsulated trailer.

  3. If the battery pack does not charge properly:

a. Check operation of receptacle by plugging in a lamp or other appliance;
b. Check to see if receptacle is connected to a light switch which turns power off when you turn out the lights;
c. If charging problems persist, take the tool, battery pack and charger to your local service center.

  1. You may charge a partially used pack whenever you desire with no adverse effect on the battery pack.

Improperly attached accessories or hoses can become damaged under pressure and can cause serious injury. Possible air leaks can cause false pressure readings. Make sure that all connections are secured tightly.

NOTE: If the pressure rating for the item being inflated is above 30 PSI, note that the maximum run time is 5 minutes. The high-pressure air hose 2 is meant to be used for objects that need more air pressure, such as tires and basketballs. The air chuck on the high-pressure air hose can be used without an adaptor to inflate any application that has a valve stem that fits the air chuck opening.

  1. Remove the high-pressure air hose 2 from the hose storage area 6.
  2. Attach a nozzle as described in the Fitting the Accessories section. Attach the air chuck 3 to the tire stem to inflate a tire, or attach an accessory to inflate a ball or other inflatable.
  3. Attach or insert the nozzle into the object being inflated.
  4. Squeeze the trigger switch 1 to begin inflation. A readout will appear on the digital gauge display 4.
  5. To stop the inflator at any time, release the trigger switch.

NOTE: The pressure readout on the digital gauge display while inflating is a measurement of the changing pressure between the item and the air hose. To get an accurate reading, release the trigger switch and wait for the readout to adjust. The gauge will indicate the pressure in PSI. When the desired pressure is reached, release the trigger switch and disconnect the inflator.

NOTE: Maximum PSI for this unit is 150 PSI.

NOTE: You may notice the actual pressure reading drop after a couple of seconds. This is normal.

Using the Inflator as a Pressure Gauge (Fig. A)

WARNING: Operating a vehicle with improperly inflated tires could result in serious injury.

Your inflator does not have a calibrated pressure gauge; therefore exact values are not binding. When using the inflator as a pressure gauge, please verify pressure with a separate gauge in advance.

  1. Connect the high-pressure air hose 2 to the item to be checked.
  2. Squeeze the trigger switch 1 for 3 seconds.
  3. The digital gauge will display the item's pressure.
  4. After checking, detach the high-pressure air hose from the application and return the air hose to the storage area.
