How to use the DOMO DO642ED heating pad?

To use the heating pad, connect the power cord to the device’s connector, then plug it into a power outlet. Press the on/off button to turn it on. The default temperature is level 1 with a 6-hour timer. Use the + and - buttons to adjust heat to 6 levels. Set the timer using the dedicated button (2, 4 or 6 hours). The device turns off automatically at the end of the programmed time.

Can I machine wash the heating pad?

Yes, the DO642ED heating pad can be machine washed at 30°C. Before washing, always detach the power cord and remove the controller. Use a low-temperature liquid detergent. Never put it in the dryer, do not iron, and do not dry clean. Let it air dry, hung on a drying rack.

How to clean small stains without washing the whole pad?

For small stains, use a damp cloth or sponge with a little mild liquid detergent. Dab gently, then rinse with a damp cloth. Do not rub too hard. Ensure the controller and cable stay dry.

What should I do if the screen flickers?

If the screen flickers, it generally means the connection cable is not properly inserted or you plugged the power cord in before connecting the cable to the device. Unplug the power cord, firmly reconnect the connector into the pad, then plug the power cord back in. The screen should stabilize.

The heating pad turns off by itself after a few hours, is this normal?

Yes, it is normal. By default, the heating pad automatically turns off after 6 hours for safety reasons. You can set the timer to 2, 4 or 6 hours using the timer button. If the device stops suddenly before the set time, it may be due to the overheat protection. Let it cool for 10 minutes and try again.

Can I use the heating pad on a waterbed?

No, it is not recommended to use this heating pad on a waterbed. Moisture and movement could damage the heating elements or pose an electrical risk.

How to store the heating pad safely?

Before storing, let the pad cool completely. Unplug the power cord. Roll it gently without folding tightly. Store in a dry place, away from moisture, without placing heavy objects on top. Ideally, use its original packaging.

Can the heating pad be used by people with a pacemaker?

The electromagnetic fields emitted by the pad may interfere with a pacemaker. Before use, please consult your doctor and the pacemaker manufacturer for advice tailored to your situation.

What if the heating pad does not heat enough?

First check that the connector is properly inserted and the device is turned on. The pad takes about 15 minutes to reach maximum temperature. Increase the setting with the + button to the desired level (6 for rapid heating). If the problem persists, try another power outlet.

Is the warranty valid if I machine wash the pad?

Yes, the warranty remains valid if you follow the washing instructions: wash at a maximum of 30°C, always detach the controller, and never machine dry. Failure to follow these instructions may void the warranty. For accessories and wear parts, a 6-month warranty applies.

This appliance has a two year warranty period. During this period the manufacturer is responsible for any failures that are the direct result of construction failure. When these failures occur the appliance will be repaired or replaced if necessary. The warranty will not be valid when the damage to the appliance is caused by wrong use, not following the instructions or repairs executed by a third party. The guarantee is issued with the original till receipt. All parts, which are subject to wear, are excluded from the warranty. If your device breaks down within the 2-year warranty period, you can return the device together with your receipt to the shop where you purchased it.

The guarantee on accessories and components that are liable to wear-and-tear is only 6 months.

The guarantee and responsibility of the supplier and manufacturer lapse automatically in the following cases:

· If the instructions in this manual have not been followed.
· In case of incorrect connection, e.g. electrical voltage that is too high.
· In case of incorrect, rough or abnormal use.
· In case of insufficient or incorrect maintenance.
In case of repairs or alterations to the device by the consumer or non-authorised third parties.
- If the customer used parts or accessories that are not recommended or provided by the supplier / manufacturer.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be taken, including the following:

• Read all instructions carefully. Keep this manual for future reference.
• Make sure all packaging materials and promotional stickers have been removed before using the appliance for the first time. Make sure children cannot play with the packaging materials.

- This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

· staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;

· farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
· bed and breakfast type environments.

- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 16 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  · Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 16 or supervised.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children younger than 16 years.
• All repairs should be carried out by the manufacturer or its aftersales service.
• Any injury or damage caused by failure to comply with these rules are at your own risk. Neither the manufacturer, importer, or the supplier may be held liable.

▲ELECTRICAL WARNINGS

• In order to avoid a hazard this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer or a separate remote control, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.
• The appliance must be disconnected from its power source when not in use, during service and when replacing parts. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance. To disconnect, turn controls to “OFF” or “o” position, then remove the plug from the wall. Never pull the cord or appliance to remove the plug from the socket.
• Before use, check carefully that the electric tension and frequency of the power net at your home match the indications on the rating label of the appliance.
• The appliance must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is installed in accordance with local installation regulations.

• Do not let the power supply cord hang over the edge of a counter, or touch hot surfaces.

• Keep the power cord away from hot parts and don’t cover the appliance.

• Unwrap the cord completely to prevent overheating of the cord. Do not allow the power cord supply to run underneath or around the unit.
• The appliance may not be used with an extension lead or a multiple socket.
• Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord or plug or in the event the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the DOMO Service Department or its service agent for examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment. Do not try to repair the appliance yourself.

- Only use the appliance for domestic use. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for accidents that result from improper use of the appliance or not following the instructions described in this manual.
· Never leave the appliance unattended while it is functioning.
· Do not operate the appliance with wet hands.
- The use of accessories that are not recommended or sold by the manufacturer can cause fire, electrical shock or injuries.

⚠ CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• To protect against electrical shock or burns, do not immerse unit, cord, or plug in water or other liquid.
• Failure to maintain this appliance in a clean condition could adversely affect the life of the appliance and possibly result in a hazardous situation.

- The cord and control panel of the device may present a risk of suffocation, strangulation, tripping, or stumbling if not laid away neatly. The user must ensure that the attachments and the cord are always in a safe position.
- The device may only be operated using the control panel supplied.
· Always allow the device to cool down before folding it up and storing it away.
- Do not crease the device by placing objects on top of it when stored.
- Do not use the device when it is still wet. The device must be completely dry before use.
- In case of long-term use, e.g. if the user falls asleep, it is recommended to set the device to setting 1.
- Unplug the device and allow it to cool down for at least 10 minutes before cleaning.
· The device can be washed by hand.
- The controls and the cord must not be covered or placed under the blanket during use.
- Never touch the device if falls into the water. Immediately remove the plug from the power socket.
- Only use the unit in dry rooms (not in bathrooms or similar).

· Prolonged use on a high temperature setting may cause burns on a sensitive skin.
· Never carry, pull, or twist the blanket by its cord and never let the cord get tangled.
- Fold the cord neatly for storage to prevent damage to the cord.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

• Remove all packaging materials and any promotional stickers before using the appliance for the first time. Make sure that children do not play with the packing materials.
  • After unpacking, carefully check for external damage that may have occurred during transport.
  · Never use the appliance when folded, bent, turned down, and/or tucked in.
  · Do not place artificial heat sources, heavy and/or angular objects on the appliance.
• There may be a slight odour when the appliance is used for the first time. This is normal. It is recommended that the room be ventilated briefly after the first use.

USE

1. Slide the connection plug into the opening. Plug the power cord into a socket.
2. Press the power button to turn the device on. The device heats up. The standard setting is maintained: heat setting 1 and timer 6 hours.
3. Press the on/off button if you want to disconnect the appliance. Then unplug the appliance.

Note: Since it is a warming blanket for two people, both the left side and the right side can be adjusted individually.

TEMPERATURE

You can adjust the temperature using the decrease (-) and increase (+) buttons. There are 6 settings, with 1 being the coldest and 6 the warmest. The selected heat setting is shown on the display.

In case of long-term use, e.g. if the user falls asleep, it is recommended to set the device to setting 1. Setting 6 is recommended for a fast heat.

TIMER

After 6 hours, the device will switch off automatically. This is a set safety measure. You can adjust this time up to 6 hours using the timer button. Press the timer button multiple times to set the timer (2, 4, 6 hours). The time is visible on the display. You do not have to confirm this; the timer will be set if you do not press any button for a few seconds. After this selected time has elapsed, the device switches off automatically.

Attention:

- The device is equipped with overheating protection. This protection prevents the device from overheating across its entire surface by automatically switching off the power in the event of a malfunction. Please note that the device may not be used afterwards for safety reasons and must be returned to your retailer.

· Prolonged use on a high temperature setting may cause burns on a sensitive skin.

- Check if the temperature is pleasant with the top of your hand. This zone is more sensitive than the palm of the hand.

- If you use the appliance for several hours at the highest setting, the appliance could overheat.

- Spread out the electrical blanket evenly over your mattres, starting at the foot of your bed.

· The electrical blanket cannot be folded, tucked in or laid around the mattress.

- Now place the sheets on the bed, like you normally do. This way the electrical blanket is situated between the mattres and the sheets.

Always make sure the electrical blanket is straight and doesn't get wrinkled up or gets folded during use, especially when you have an adjustable bed or a mattress which consists of more than one part.

- Make sure to check the blanket when you make up your bed, the electrical blanket can only be used when it is laid out flat.

We recommend to turn on the electrical blanket 90 minutes before going to bed and to cover the blanket with your quilt or with the covers, to prevent the heat from escaping.

- Caution: not suited for use on water beds.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1. Let the appliance cool down completely before cleaning it. Remove the connection plug. Always remove the plug from the electrical socket before cleaning.
2. The blanket can be washed by hand. Place the blanket in soapy water and mild liquid detergent. Gently wring out any excess water. Rinse with clean water to remove all the detergent.
3. Small stains can be cleaned with a cloth or damp sponge, if necessary with a liquid mild washing detergent.
4. Then let it air dry. Never dry in a tumble dryer, in the sun, or on a heater. Do not use clothes pegs. Instead, drape the device over a drying rack.

- Attention: the electrical blanket may not be cleaned chemically.

- When the blanket is very dirty it can be washed in the washing machine at 30°C. Always use a mild liquid washing detergent.

- Keep in mind that your blanket is an electrical appliance!

- The switch must never come in contact with water. Therefore, never forget to detach the cord from the blanket before washing.

⚠️ Never switch the device on to dry it faster. Only use the appliance when it is completely dry.

⚠ Washing it too frequently can lead to colour changes or wear. Only wash the appliance when absolutely necessary.

STORING THE DEVICE

• If you do not use the device for a longer period of time, we recommend that you store it in its original packaging in a dry environment and without placing anything heavy on top of it.
• Allow the device to cool down before storing it.
• Store the appliance in a dry place. Make sure the appliance is rolled up properly. Do not fold the appliance.

The appliance has been stopped working.	· After 6 h, the appliance shuts off automatically. Let the appliance cool down for 10 min. and press again the on/off button. · You can set the timer up to a maximum of 6 hours to allow the device to work for longer.
The display will flash.	· Did you first insert the plug into the socket and then insert the connector plug into the device? You must always insert the connector plug first, and then plug the other end into the electrical socket. · Did the connector plug accidentally come off while using the device? Remove the plug from the electrical socket first, then reattach the connector plug to the device, and then plug the cable back in.
The appliance does not heat enough. After +/- 15 min.	· the appliance reaches the set temperature. Increase the temperature if necessary.
