How to fill the water tank of the OKOIA HAIRSTEAMR200 straightener?

Remove the tank from the bottom of the device, unscrew the cap, fill with distilled water (do not remove the wick), then replace the cap and snap the tank back into place.

What temperatures are available and for which hair type?

Temperatures are: 120°C (damaged hair), 140°C, 160°C, 180°C (default), 200°C (straight hair). Adjust according to your hair type.

How to activate the steam function?

Press and hold the cold mist button for 2 seconds. The LED indicator lights up. Steam is only released when the plates are closed on a section of hair.

What to do if the device does not heat up?

Check that the device is plugged in and the outlet works. Press the power button for 2 seconds. Wait for the temperature indicator to stop blinking (heating). If the problem persists, contact customer service.

How to clean the HAIRSTEAMR200 straightener?

Unplug and let cool. Wipe with a slightly damp cloth, then dry with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive products and do not immerse the device.

Can the straightener be used on wet hair?

No, hair must be dry and detangled before use. Steam is produced only by the tank during straightening.

What does automatic shut-off mean?

After 45 minutes of inactivity, the device automatically turns off for safety reasons. To turn it back on, press and hold the power button for 2 seconds.

How to lock the straightener for storage?

Safety Precautions

• Before you connect the appliance, ensure that the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local power voltage.
  • Always turn off and unplug the appliance when not in use, or before cleaning.
• Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended when in operation.

OPERATION

1. Make sure to fill the water tank before using the steam function.

2. Remove the water tank from the bottom of the appliance.

3. Remove the tank cap.
   NOTE: DO NOT remove wick from tank as it aids the cool mist.
   • Fill the tank with distilled water.
4. Re-insert the tank cap and make sure the tank does not leak.

5. Attach the water tank back to the appliance until it clicks in place.

6. Wash your hair cleanly with appropriate shampoo.

7. Hair should be dry and free of tangles before using the appliance.

8. Plug the appliance into the mains socket.
9. Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn on the appliance.

• The default temperature 180°C will flash.

1. You can repeatedly press + / - to select your desired temperature according to your hair type and condition.
2. During the heat-up time, the temperature indicator light will flash.

1. When the appliance reaches the set temperature, the indicator light will stop flashing, and your appliance is ready for use.
2. Press and hold the cool mist button for 2 seconds to activate the steam function.

• The LED on the cool mist button will illuminate.
- To deactivate the steam function, press and hold the cool mist button for 2 seconds and the LED on this button will go out.
9. Use a comb to divide your hair into several strands. Do not put too much hair in one strand.

1. Place one strand of hair between the straightening plates and press the handles of the appliance firmly together.
2. Cool mist will only dispense when the appliance is in use with the plates closed.
3. Slide the straightener down the length of the hair for a few seconds, from root to hair end.
4. Do not hold the appliance in one area for a long period of time or damage to hair may occur.
5. Repeat this process with all the sections of your hair.
6. When you have finished styling, press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn off the appliance.

Auto Shut-off after 45 Mins

The appliance is fitted with an automatic switch-off function. After approx. 45 minutes the appliance will switch off automatically. If you want to continue using the appliance, press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to switch it on again.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Before cleaning or storage, unplug the appliance from the mains socket and allow it to cool down completely.
• Clean the appliance with a slightly damp cloth.
• Ensure all parts are wiped dry with a soft dry cloth.
• Do not let water or any other liquid to enter the appliance.
• Never use abrasive or chemical cleaning agents.
• Do not wrap the power cord around the appliance.

Hinge lock

Your appliance has a hinge lock to make plates lockable for storage.

- To lock the appliance, squeeze the plates together, and push the switch to the locked position.

- To unlock the appliance, pull the switch to the unlock position.

NOTE: Do not heat the appliance in the locked position.
