Frequently Asked Questions - GMH 602 Güde

What type of fuel to use for the Güde GMH 602?
Use a mixture of unleaded petrol and high-quality 2-stroke oil in a ratio of 1:40 (1 litre of petrol to 40 ml of oil). Do not use an old mixture.
How to start the GMH 602 hedge trimmer?
Ensure the tank contains fresh fuel. Activate the choke (6 to 8 times). Pull the starter cord until the engine starts. Once started, deactivate the choke.
What to do if the engine does not start?
Check the fuel level, the spark plug (clean or replace if dirty), the air filter (clean it), and ensure the mixture is correct. If the engine is flooded, dry the spark plug.
How to maintain the hedge trimmer blade?
After each use, clean the blade with a cloth soaked in oil or a metal treatment spray. Regularly lubricate the moving parts with an ecological oil. Replace blunt or damaged blades immediately.
What is the cutting length of the GMH 602?
The cutting length is 620 mm, with a maximum branch thickness of 23 mm.
What safety precautions should be taken?
Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves and safety shoes. Keep a distance of at least 10 m from people and power lines. Never work in an enclosed space due to toxic exhaust gases.
How to store the hedge trimmer after use?
Empty the fuel tank outdoors. Let the engine cool down. Clean the blade and apply a light coat of oil. Store the device in a dry place out of reach of children.
Can I use the GMH 602 to cut hardwood or thick branches?
No, this hedge trimmer is designed for trimming hedges and soft shrubs. Do not attempt to cut hardwood, branches over 23 mm thick, or composting materials, as this could damage the device.
How to adjust the spark plug electrode gap?
The gap between the electrodes should be between 0.6 and 0.8 mm. Use a feeler gauge to adjust.
Where can I find spare parts for the GMH 602?
Spare parts are available on the website www.guede.com or from Güde customer service. You will need the order number (93998) and the serial number.
