User manual for Petromax Cooking Tripod Thank you for choosing the Petromax Cooking Tripod with hooks and chain. With your Cooking Tripod you build a functional cooking place in no time. We are convinced that you will be delighted with your practical Cooking Tripod and we hope that with the Tripod your outdoor camps will become even more eventful. Important instructions Please read this manual carefully before using your Cooking Tripod for the first time. Pay special attention to the safety instructions and keep the user manual for future reference. If the product is given to other people, they must also be given this user manual. Product description With the practical Petromax Cooking Tripod, delivered with chain and hooks you build a functional and stable cooking place in a few steps. The three support legs of your compact Cooking Tripod are individually and continuously adjustable in height and the feet are bevelled. That way you can erect your Cooking Tripod safely also on uneven ground. Dutch Oven, Teakettle and co. can be hung onto the chain directly over the fire and the heat for food preparation can be controlled individually via the length of the chain. Safety instructions
Only use your Petromax Cooking Tripod outdoors as cooking and fireplace. Never use indoors – Fire hazard and danger of suffocation.
- Comply with fire safety regulations. Show consideration to the plant and animal life and to nature reserves when using the Cooking Tripod outdoors in nature.
When building a fireplace maintain the safety distance to flammable and heat-sensitive objects and materials.
- The Cooking Tripod with chain and hooks can become very hot during use over the open fire.
Always use heat-resistant gloves or potholders when touching the Cooking Tripod and its accessory parts.
- After the fire is extinct let your Cooking Tripod with chain and hooks cool down completely before stowing it once again. Never leave your Cooking Tripod unattended when a fire is burning underneath.
- Children and animals must not be unattended near the Cooking Tripod.
- Do not move your Cooking Tripod while it is in use or while cookware is suspended on it.
- Be careful when adding fuel to your fireplace and protect your hands with heat-resistant gloves.7
- Never use water to extinguish glowing wood or charcoal.
- Have a bucket of sand or a powder fire extinguisher nearby in case of emergency.
When having a fire underneath your Cooking Tripod make sure to completely extinguish it and clear the fireplace before leaving your camp in nature. Forest floor or a campsite meadow, but also garden or courtyard are the ideal ground for setting up your mobile cooking place. Unevenness can be easily balanced by means of the continuously adjustable support legs as well as the bevelled feet of your Cooking Tripod.8
Disassembly, care and storage As soon as your Cooking Tripod has cooled down after your fire has been extinct, remove any soot with a soft, dry cloth. For major soiling you can clean your Cooking Tripod with water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth. Dry well afterwards. The same applies to chain and hooks. Afterwards, push together the support legs of your Cooking Tripod and fasten slightly by means of the adjustable screws. Attention: If fastened too firmly the support legs may deform! Do not stow your Cooking Tripod with chain and hooks unprotected outdoors. Stow all parts only when they are completely cold, clean and dry. Strictly avoid any kind of humidity. Cover your Cooking Tripod as well as chain and hooks well or wrap them into a dry cloth to protect all parts from humidity and flash rust. Warranty Under proper use, a warranty period of two years will apply to your Petromax Cooking Tripod from the date of purchase. This does not cover wear parts. If you cannot use your Petromax Cooking Tripod properly due to a defect in material or manufacturing, you are entitled to a warranty claim. Contact your retailer for that purpose.
