USER MANUAL Ligretto Kids Schmidt
Fast-paced fun for players big and small! A high-speed, entertaining card game by Britta Fiore for 2-5 players from the age of 5 Contents: 5 sets of 30 cards with their own picture on the rear: palm tree (green), butterfly (blue), pineapple (yellow), flower (pink), coconut (brown). Objective of the game: The task – to put down as many cards with the same colour OR the same animal as possible. Most important – speed, combining and reacting quickly! The nice thing – you all play at the same time! Nobody has to wait, nobody gets impatient. 26Preparing to play: Sort the cards out into 5 sets of cards according to the rear of the cards (palm tree, butterfly, pineapple, flower, coconut). Each player receives one set of 30 cards. You keep this set of cards until the end of the game. If there are fewer than 5 players, the rest of the sets of cards are taken out of the game. Shuffle your pile of cards well. Then pick up the pile of the cards with the rear of the card face up (your so-called hand) and place the top card face up in the middle of the table. The cards in the middle of the table are the starting cards of your pile (2 cards for 2 players, 3 cards for 3 players, etc.). Any player can put down cards on any of these piles! Tip: alternatively, instead of holding the hand of cards, you can put them down on the table and turn them over and put them down from there. 27How to play: One of you gives the starting signal “Ligretto!” Now, at the same time, you all try to get rid of your cards as quickly as possible by turning over each card one by one and, if possible, putting it down on the correct pile in the middle. The following applies when you are putting down the cards:
1. Colour on colour OR animal on animal: if a card has the
same colour or the same animal, quickly put it on the right pile in the middle of the table
2. If you cannot put your card down, put the “incorrect”
card down in front of you. This means that you will each have your “own” discard pile
in front of you. Should the top card of your pile match a card on any one of the piles in the middle during the course of the game, you can put this card down in the middle at any time during the course of the game. If, once you remove the top card from the pile, you uncover a card which also matches a card on one of the piles in the middle, you can put this card down too, etc.
283. If the pile in your hand is empty, pick up your discard pile,
turn it over and start again trying to get rid of all the cards! End of the game: The first player to get rid of all their cards wins the game! In this case, the player with the empty hand shouts out loudly “Ligretto Stop!” Or the game comes to an end if all the players are unable to put down any more cards. In this case, the player with the fewest cards in their hand and in their discard pile, wins. You can play several rounds of the game. In this case, each player writes down all of the cards they have left over. The player with the fewest cards after 3 rounds is the winner. 2930Beginners’ version for younger players from the age of 4: In this version, you omit the cards in the middle of the table. Instead, each child has their own pile right in front of them. The matching cards are only put down on these piles. The incorrect cards can be put down face up on the table and also be played from there. Advantages of the beginners’ version: - The children can play at their own pace - They only have to think about putting down one card at a time 31ES
