Thank you for choosing MELICONI.

This symbol indicates that you must carefully read these instructions, especially the Safety Warnings, keep them for future reference, and pass them on to the new user together with the product in case of transfer. Meliconi S.p.A. denies any and all liability for personal injury or property damage due to improper use of the product.

SAFETY WARNINGS

• Only use the product indoors, do not use it outdoors.
• To avoid electric shock, do not tamper with or attempt to repair the product.
• Do not use the product in the presence of liquids and water. Do not splash or pour water onto or into the product and keep it out of the rain. Do not touch the product when your hands are wet or in humid/condensing conditions.
• Do not expose the product to sources of excessive heat, such as direct sunlight, fire or the like.
• Disconnect appliances from the mains before you hook the product up to them.
• Never allow children to use electrical products without adult supervision. The product is not a toy. It may contain small or detachable parts. Do not allow children or pets to play with the product or its packaging (bags): danger of suffocation and choking if swallowed.
• Once the antenna is positioned, check that it is stable and cannot fall over to avoid damage or injury to people.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT

The Meliconi AT52 R1 USB amplified indoors antenna receives and amplifies DVB-T and DVB-T2 digital terrestrial TV signals and DAB+ radio signals on the VHF-III and UHF bands. It also has a low-noise amplifier and special filters to eliminate interference from FM, GSM, 4G and 5G signals.

INSTALLATION

(refer to Fig. 1, 2 and 3 for hook-up instructions)

• Place the antenna in a position with good reception, for example near a window or in the direction of the television station, away from metal objects, electrical appliances and reinforced concrete walls which can attenuate the signal and limit its operation
• Connect the Meliconi antenna cable [A] to the antenna input socket on the TV (or digital terrestrial decoder).
• Turn knob [D] counterclockwise and adjust for maximum amplification.
• Connect the end [F] of the power cable [B] to the antenna [C]; insert the other end of the power cable [G] into a free USB socket on the TV (or decoder). In this way the TV (or decoder) will automatically supply power to the antenna only when it is switched on.
• Turn on the device (TV / DECODER) and select the desired channel. Check that the LED [H] on the antenna turns on. When the TV (or decoder) is turned off, the antenna (and LED) should turn off.

Alternative connections:

If your TV / decoder does not have a free USB socket, you can power the antenna in the following ways.

B1 POWER SUPPLY FROM DECODER

- If the antenna is connected to a suitably equipped digital terrestrial decoder, the decoder can power the antenna via the antenna cable [A] (refer to the decoder's user manual to enable the 5 Volt/Antenna connection).

Check that the LED [H] on the antenna turns on when decoder is on.

In this configuration, when the decoder is turned off, the antenna (and LED) will automatically turn off.

B2 EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY

- Use a standard 5 VDC/1 A USB power supply (not included) that complies with current safety regulations.

Meliconi S.p.A. denies any and all liability resulting from use of external power supplies.

IMPROVING RECEPTION

If the image quality is unsatisfactory or no signal is received, proceed as follows:

• Check that the antenna is on: LED [H] on.
• Turn the antenna until you get the best reception.
• Adjust the gain with the amplification adjustment knob [D]; the maximum gain setting does not always give the best image quality. Try reducing it a little.
• Look at the antennas on the roofs of neighbouring buildings and turn your antenna in the same direction as them.

- If possible, tune the channels of the TV / DECODER by temporarily connecting it to a different working source of reception (e.g. the building's antenna).

Note that an internal antenna is in any case an "alternative" solution for TV reception; due to the variable signal strength inside buildings, the quality of the results you get will depend on the conditions in the room. The best results are obtained when the antenna is positioned close to a window, in the direction of the transmitter, without obstacles or buildings in the way.

The crossed bin symbol on the equipment indicates that the product must be collected separately from other waste at the end of its service life. The user must therefore deliver the device to a sorted waste collection centre for electrical and electronic waste at the end of its life, or return it to the retailer when purchasing a new device of equivalent type. Adequate sorted collection of decommissioned equipment for recycling, treatment and environmentally compatible disposal helps to mitigate negative environmental and health impacts and promotes the recycling of the equipment's component materials.
