Frequently Asked Questions - SE3000HRWS00BNO4 SolarEdge

How to connect the LG Chem battery to the StorEdge inverter?
Make sure the battery is powered off (switch OFF and circuit breaker open). Connect the DC cables between the battery and the StorEdge interface, as well as the RS485 cable for communication. Refer to the provided wiring diagram.
How to perform a battery self-test?
In the SetApp application, go to Commissioning > Maintenance > Diagnostics > Self-Test and select Battery Self-Test. Make sure the battery circuit breaker is in the ON position and the inverter ON/OFF/P switch is set to ON.
What to do if the battery self-test fails?
Check the power and communication cables between the battery and the inverter. If the charge or discharge test fails, or if communication is faulty, reconnect the cables correctly. Make sure the inverter switch is in the ON position.
How to configure maximum self-consumption (MSC)?
In SetApp, select Commissioning > Power Control > Energy Manager > Energy Control then choose Maximum Self-Consumption.
How to power off the LG Chem battery?
First turn off the circuit breaker, then the disconnect switch or the battery's auxiliary power switch. This sequence is mandatory to avoid any risk.
What is the role of the DIP switch on the StorEdge interface?
The DIP switches terminate the RS485 bus. If no energy meter is connected, set the left DIP switch to ON to terminate the bus.
How to check the connection to the SolarEdge monitoring server?
In SetApp, go to Commissioning > Status. Check that the message S_OK - Server Connected is displayed in the main inverter section.
What cables to use for the RS485 connection between the battery and the inverter?
Use a shielded twisted pair cable (Cat5e type or similar) with proper termination. Follow the wiring diagram provided by SolarEdge.
How to configure the energy meter in SetApp?
In SetApp, go to Commissioning > Communication > RS485-1. Select Add Modbus device then Meter. The meter is automatically identified. Then configure the CT Ratio according to the CT sensor specifications.
Where to find the serial number of the StorEdge inverter?
The serial number is on the label on the side or bottom of the inverter. Note it down before contacting SolarEdge support.
