SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Read these instructions carefully before use and keep them in a safe place. This appliance may be used, cleaned and serviced by children older than 8 years of age provided they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety. Keep the appliance and the power cord away from children younger than 8. Children are not allowed to play with the appliance. Children should always be monitored to prevent them from playing with the appliance. The appliance may be used by persons with a physical, sensory, mental or motor disability and by persons without the necessary experience and knowledge, provided they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety, or when they are given instructions on how to safely use the appliance and if understand the dangers that come with the use of the appliance.
- This appliance is only intended for normal household use.
- Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.
- Only use the appliance and accessories for their intended purposes.
- Do not use the appliance and accessories for any other purposes than those described in the instructions.
- Do not use the appliance when a part, accessory, the power cord or plug is damaged or defective. Only let the supplier or an acknowledged service centre replace a damaged or defective part, accessory, power cord or plug.
- Do not use the appliance near facilities containing water, such as bath tubs, showers and wash basins.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. If this nevertheless happens, unplug the appliance from the wall socket as soon as possible. Never remove the appliance from water or other liquids before unplugging it from the wall socket. You can no longer use an appliance that has been immersed in water or other liquids.
- Make sure that water cannot get into the connection points of the power cord nor the extension cord.
- Always keep the power cord away from heat sources, oil and sharp edges.
- Always check, before use, that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate of the appliance.
- For extra safety, connect the appliance to a group protected by a residential current operated circuit breaker with a nominal operating current of max. 30 mA.
- Never operate the appliance by means of an external time switch or a separate remote control system.
- Always unroll the power cord and extension cord (when applicable) fully. Make sure that the power cord and extension cord (when applicable) do not dangle over the edge of the worktop to prevent them from becoming entangled or somebody accidentally tripping over them.
- Do not unplug the appliance by pulling the power cord.
- Always unplug the appliance when not in use.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors. Place the appliance on a stable and level surface.

- Heating devices: wait until the appliance has cooled down before you touch the housing and parts of the unit.
- Be extra careful during cleaning and servicing. NOTE The Classic Deep Fryer Comfort 2.5 L can be di- rectly filled with liquid fat or oil. If you wish to use solid fat, we recommend first melting the blocks of fat on the stove in a normal pan. To do so, heat the fat slowly and for no longer than necessary to completely melt the fat. Do not allow the fat to overheat! As soon as the fat is melted, carefully (!) pour it into the deep fryer. Only turn on the deep fryer after it has been filled with fat or oil. If solid fat has been left in the deep fryer in preparation for the appliance’s next use, be sure to first set the thermostat to a low temperature (120°C). Only increase the temperature once the fat has completely melted. APPLICATION The Bourgini Classic Deep Fryer Comfort 2.5 L is an electrically heated deep fryer. It is the perfect appliance for frying chips, snacks, fish and more. The Classic Deep Fryer Comfort 2.5 L features a removable filter lid with viewing window, frying basket, foldable handle and metal fat filter. The thermostat can be adjusted up to 190°C. The inner pan has a non-stick coating for easy cleaning. The on/off light indicates whether the plug is in the socket; the temperature light indicates whether the oil is heated. The anti-slip feet keep the pan stable on counters or worktops.

- The appliance must be cooled down before assembly.
- Do not put the plug in the socket during assembly.
- Clean the appliance and accessories. See “Cleaning and servicing”.
- There should be enough space around the appliance to let the heat escape.
- Make sure there is enough ventilation.
- Place the appliance on a stable and level surface.
- Do not position the appliance on flammable tablecloths or flammable cloth mats and placemats. DEEP FRY SAFELY!
- Always unplug the appliance when it is not in use or when you are servicing the appliance.
- Beware of spatters. Avoid spatters. See further down in this document.
- Beware of hot parts. The accessible surfaces can get hot when the Classic Deep Fryer Comfort 2.5 L is in use.
- Make sure your hands are dry before touching the appliance.
- Do not move the appliance when the power is on, when the housing is still hot or when the ingredients are still hot.
- Make sure the cord is placed in such a way that no one accidentally pulls it or trips over it. Ensure that the Classic Deep Fryer Comfort

- The Classic Deep Fryer Comfort 2.5 L has minimum and maximum oil level lines. Fill the pan to a level that is between these lines and maintain this level while deep frying.
- Note: overfilling can cause spattering. An insufficient oil level may cause overheating.
- Change the oil regularly. GENERAL USAGE
- Leave the lid on the pan when frying.10
- Fill the Classic Deep Fryer Comfort 2.5 L. Make sure that the level of the oil or fat is between the minimum and maximum markings on the pan.
- Insert the plug into the socket at this point, and not before.
- The appliance is switched on by turning the thermostat to the desired temperature. The temperature can be set to a maximum of 190°C. Please refer to the food packaging for the desired temperature and cooking time.
- The appliance is equipped with a thermostat to keep the oil at the required temperature.
- Allow the appliance to preheat to the desired temperature for approximately 10 minutes. First heat up the cold pan to around 120°C, then turn the thermostat to the required temperature after 5 minutes.
- After use, switch off the appliance, unplug it and wait for it to cool down.• When the appliance is not being used, store it in a dry place.
SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR DEEP
- Use liquid or solid deep frying fat or deep frying oil. When using solid fat, first turn the thermostat to the lowest level to let it melt. Only turn up the thermostat once the fat has melted.• Fill the basket with food, then place the basket in the appliance. Be extra careful and watch out for spatters when doing so. Then close the lid.• Do not put too much food in the basket. Add extra oil or fat if necessary.• Ensure that no water (e.g. ice from frozen foods) enters the oil. This will cause powerful oil spatters! • As soon as the food is done: • Remove the basket from the oil and shake the basket using the handle to remove excess oil or fat.• Leave the basket to rest for a while on the hook of the pan to remove excess oil or fat.• Empty the basket on a plate or dish using the handle. Use a vegetable oil, such as peanut oil, corn oil or soya oil for the tastiest results.• For the healthiest results, thaw the food before use and frequently replace the oil or liquid fat.• Deep fry pre-cooked chips only once. • Always replace the oil or liquid fat after deep frying raw meat or raw snacks such as chicken legs.• After using the deep fryer, sift the food remains from the oil or fat. It will keep the oil or fat fresh much longer. • Always pre-fry fresh chips. Deep fry the chips for approx. 5-10 minutes at 170°C. Shake the chips loose and leave them to cool in a dish for a short while. Then deep fry the chips again for approx. 2-4 minutes at 175°C. CHANGING THE OIL OR FAT
After having used the appliance four, or a maximum of five times, replace the oil or fat as follows:
- Remove the lid from the appliance by pulling it straight up from the open position. Remove the basket.
- Pour the oil or fat in a container and take it to a recycling point.
- Clean the pan, then dry it thoroughly.
- Reassemble the appliance.
- Only fill the tank with fresh oil or fat when you are going to use the deep fryer again.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Unplug the appliance and wait for it to cool down before cleaning and/or servicing.
- Do not use any acerbic or abrasive cleaning liquids.
- Do not use any sharp objects.
- The basket and lid are dishwasher safe. The pan, cord and plug must never be submerged in water. Using a damp towel, wipe the pan clean. Dry the pan thoroughly after cleaning.
- The pan can be cleaned by filling it with water11
and a detergent up to the minimum level, and switching the pan to the lowest temperature for 10 minutes. Do not let the water boil! Subsequently leave the pan to cool, unplug it and rinse well with cold water.
- Regularly check the appliance for any damage. WASTE DISPOSAL Electrical appliances, accessories and their packaging must be reused as much as possible in an environmentally sound manner. Do not dispose of these items together with your normal rubbish. Only for EU countries:According to the European 2002/96/EG WEEE Guideline on the disposal of old electric and electronic appliances, the appliances that are no longer used must be collected and recycled in an environmentally sound manner.

The warranty is valid for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase as stated on your purchase receipt, which also your proof of warranty. Please turn to your retailer to claim your warranty. The warranty shall not apply if the product is subjected to incorrect use,, improperly disassembled, damaged by falls, impacts or similar, or if damage is caused due to failure to descale in good time products that are manufactured for use with water. Should a certain product be provided with specific warranty terms and conditions, these shall receive priority over general terms and conditions. The warranty shall not apply to indirect damages.
