Frequently Asked Questions - Classic Deep Fryer Comfort 2.5L 18.1020.00.00 Bourgini

How to use the deep fryer for the first time?
Before first use, clean the appliance and its accessories as indicated in the Cleaning and maintenance section. Make sure the tank is dry, then fill it with oil or liquid fat between the min and max marks. Plug in, set the thermostat to the desired temperature and let it preheat for 10 minutes.
How much oil should I put in?
The deep fryer has minimum and maximum level marks inside the tank. Always fill between these two marks. A level too low can cause overheating, a level too high can cause splashing.
Can I use solid fat?
Yes, but first melt the solid fat in a saucepan on the stove over low heat, then gently pour it into the deep fryer. Never put solid fat directly into the cold deep fryer. If you let the fat solidify in the fryer, set the thermostat to 120 °C to melt it before increasing the temperature.
How to clean the deep fryer?
Unplug and let it cool completely. The basket and lid can go in the dishwasher. The tank should never be immersed; clean it with a damp cloth. For deeper cleaning, you can fill the tank with water and dish soap up to the min mark, then heat at low temperature for 10 minutes without boiling, then rinse.
Why does the temperature indicator not light up?
The temperature indicator lights up when the heating element is on and goes out when the set temperature is reached. If the indicator remains off, check that the thermostat is set to a temperature above room temperature and that the plug is properly inserted. If the problem persists, contact after-sales service.
How to change the oil?
Let the oil cool completely. Remove the lid and basket. Pour the used oil into a suitable container for recycling. Clean and dry the tank. Only fill with fresh oil before the next use.
What temperature to use for fries?
For fresh fries, pre-cook for 5 to 10 minutes at 170 °C, then let cool. Then fry again for 2 to 4 minutes at 175 °C. For frozen fries, follow the instructions on the package, usually around 180 °C.
Is the basket dishwasher safe?
Yes, the basket and lid (including the metal filter) can be washed in the dishwasher. Be sure to remove the handle if it is clipped on. The tank and cord should never be put in the dishwasher.
What to do if the oil overflows?
Immediately unplug the appliance. Wait for the oil to cool before cleaning. To prevent overflow, do not exceed the maximum mark and do not put too much food in the basket. Make sure the food is dry to limit splattering.
