FUNCTIONANDPURPOSE

Thisunitisintendedtobeusedforcontactgrillingfoodsincommercial foodserviceoperationsonly.Itisnotintendedforhousehold,industrial orlaboratoryuse.

Before using this equipment must be cleaned and dried thoroughly. Clean all surfaces before use. Failure to cleans surfaces before using the unit could cause food contamination.

Thissandwichpressisamedium-dutyappliancecapableofawide varietyofapplications. Thetemperatureisthermostaticallycontrolled. Thetemperaturerangeisbetween120°F(49°C)and550°F(288°C). ThethermostatisalsotheON/OFFswitch.Anindicatorlampadjacentto thethermostatdialindicateswhentheelementsareheating.

UNPACKINGTHEEQUIPMENTANDINITIALSETUP

1. Remove all packing material and tape, as well as any protective plastic from the unit.
2. Cleananyglueresidueleftoverfromtheplasticortape.
3. Washthegrillplatestoremoveanymachineoilfromthe manufacturingprocess.SeeCleaningprocedureinthismanual.
4. Plugtheunitintoaproperlygroundedelectricalsupplymatchingthe nameplaterating.Damagetotheunitcanoccurifincorrectpoweris supplied.
   5.Seasonthegrillplates. Useaclean,lint-freeclothtowipecookingoilontothegrillplatesor coattheplateswithcookingoilspray.Setthetemperatureto400°F. Aftertheequipmenthasreachedtemperature,allowtheplatesto seasonfor10-15minutes.Smokemayappearduringthisprocess. Thisisnormal.Allowtheplatestocoolcompletely.Wipeoffthe excessoilusingaclean,lint-freecloth.Repeattheprocessatleast onemoretime.
