Frequently Asked Questions - KORE Dali

How to properly unpack the Dali KORE speaker?

Unpacking requires at least two people. Remove the screws from the crate, use the back panel as a ramp, unscrew the bolts securing the speaker to the bottom, then roll the speaker on its transport wheels. Avoid touching the speakers.

What is the ideal placement for Dali KORE speakers?

Place the speakers 3 to 5 meters apart, at least 1 meter from the rear wall. Keep them away from corners and reflective surfaces. The listening position should be centered, equidistant from the speakers. Do not aim the speakers toward the listening position (wide dispersion).

How to connect speakers in single-wire configuration?

Use the supplied connection jumpers to connect the upper and lower terminals. Connect the speaker cable to the lower (or upper) terminal. Ensure polarity (+/-) is correct.

What speaker cables do you recommend?

Use high-quality cables with a minimum cross-section of 2.0 mm² (AWG 14). Cables should be the same length and not exceed 20 meters. Choose bare wires, 4 mm banana plugs, or spade connectors.

How to adjust the decoupling spikes?

Using the 5 mm Allen key, lower the spikes until the transport wheels are lifted off the floor. Adjust the height to leave a 30 to 40 mm clearance under the base. Ensure verticality and stability. Retighten the lock nuts.

Can I use the speakers in bi-wiring or bi-amping?

Yes. Remove the connection jumpers between the upper and lower terminals. For bi-wiring, use two cables from the same amplifier. For bi-amping, use two separate amplifiers (one for bass, one for mid/high). Refer to the manual.

What is the break-in time for the speakers?

Dali KORE speakers require approximately 100 hours of moderate volume operation to reach optimal performance. This process is called break-in. The lifespan of the drivers increases with regular use.

How to clean the speakers without damaging them?

Dust with a soft dry cloth. For stains, use a damp cloth with a non-abrasive household cleaner. Avoid touching the domes of tweeters and driver membranes as they are fragile.

What to do if the sound is distorted?

Distorted sound indicates your amplifier lacks power or the volume is too high. Immediately reduce volume to avoid damaging speakers or amplifier. Also check connections.

What finishes are available for the Dali KORE?

The Dali KORE is available in gloss lacquer with Armana maple veneer and textured finishes. Consult your dealer for exact options.

3. Unpacking your speakers

We recommend unpacking your DAI I KORF speakers near where you intend to use them DAI I KORF speakers are listed with transit wheels to make it easier to move them around. The transit wheels should remain listed until the speakers are in their final working positions. Section 4 describes how to position your speakers.

Using the same 6 mm Alon key, loosen the four M8 bolts holding the restraining bars A so that the speaker is lowered onto the transit wheels. Then removes the four bolts entirely and withdraw the two restructuring bars B

Position the magnetic spike feet underneath each spike A then uncrew and remove the golden thumbscrew B located above the spikes

Use the 1 mm Allan key to lower the spikes until the transit wheels are raised from the floor and the speaker is supported by the spikes.

11 Adjust the height of the spikes using the 5 mm Alon key.

The spike height should be adjusted to leave a gap of between 33 mm and 43 mm from the II door to the underside of the speaker base.

The spike heights can be adjusted to ensure the speakers are vertical and stable.

When you've finished adjusting the sole heights, screw the four thumbscrews back on.

4. Positioning your speakers

In this section, we guide you through placing your speakers in your listening room. You'll likely

need to make adjustments as you become more familiar with the character and performance of your new speakers, so if you need to move your speakers.

Position your DAI KORF speakers 3 to 5 metres apart, well away from corners in the room and 1 to 2 metres from the next wall. The distance between the speakers and the rear wall is where you're likely to make most adjustments as you become more familiar with their performance in your listening space.

The primary listening position should be located centrally between the speakers, at approximately the same distance as that, between the speakers (Disgrem 1)

As DALL speakers are designed to off or wide acoustic dispersion, we recommend that you avoid singing (or tooing-n) your DALL KOR- apsakers towards the

primary listening position. You can read more about the DAL Trade dispersion on philosophy in the DAL KORE White Paper.

Try to position each DALIKORE speaker-in an acoustically similar environment. Curtains windows, bookozoes and other nearby objects can al off cat speakers' acoustic performance

If you move your TAL1 KOIP—speakers closer to a wall boundary, the low-frequency elements of your music are likely to become more prominent. Although this might initially appear to improve the sound, it will likely be at the expense of musical clarity and accuracy.

5. Connecting your speakers

Each DALIKORE speaker is listed with two pairs of binding post terminals on the connection panel located on the rear face of the plinth. The upper pair of terminals connects to the balanced Drive SMC midrange and FVO K Hybrid I weather module, while the lower terminal pair connects to the Delances Drive SMO base drivers.

Included in the Accessory Kit are four Terminal Jumpers, which can be used to connect the upper and lower pairs of binding posts, so that only a single twin-core speaker scale is required to connect each speaker to a single power amplifier if the terminal jumpers are

removed, two twin-core speakers' cables will be needed, sharing the output from a single power simplification in a "ci-wire" format.

Diagram 2 shows single-wire, bi-wire and bi-amp connection formats.

When blwring or b-amping, ALWAYS remove the terminal jumpers between the terminals before connecting the speaker cables.

The specifications and type of speaker cables you use to connect your DALI KORE speakers can influence their audio performance. For best results, use high quality cable with a minimum conductor cross-sectional view of 2.0 mm ² . Each speaker cable should be of similar length and less than 20 minutes long. Your DALI KORE retailer will be happy to offer advice on the best speaker cable for your setup.

When connecting your DAL KORE speakers to an amplifier, begin by connecting the speaker cables to the speaker terminals. Ensure that the cable wire marked 'positive' or mounted red and connected to the positive (red) speaker terminals, and 'negative' or black cable wires are connected to the negative (black) speaker terminals.

The DIALI KORE connection terminals can accommodate stripped cables, 4 mm plugs or cable spades.

Here's how to connect each of ps:

Striped cables: Unscrew the speaker terminals fully twist the stripped cable strands together, ensuring there are no stray screens, and insert the cable into the hoes through the terminals posts. Finally, tighten the terminals down onto the stripped cable securely. We recommend checking the terminals for

tightness soon alt or you first tighten them and periodically herself or

4 mm plugs insert the plug directly into the end of the socket terminals. The terminal tighten around the plug to strengthen the connection and minimise the chance of mechanical buzzing.

- Cable spaces. Fully uncrew the speaker's terminase and position on each cable space arm either side of a terminal post. Secure the cable spaces by tightening the terminals. We recommend checking the terminals for tightness soon after you first tighten them and periodically thereafter.

With cables connected to your DIAL KORE speakers, they can now be connected to the amplifier's output terminals. Ensure the amplifier is switched O= before you make any connection.

Connect the cables from the left speaker to the amplif en's left channel output terminals and the cables from the right speaker to the amplif en's right channel output terminals. Ensure that the cable winds marked "positive" or coloured red are connected to the positive amplif or output terminals, and winds marked "negative" or coloured black are connected to the negative amplifier output terminals.

6. Using your speakers

Now that your DALI KORE speakers are installed in your listening space and connected to one on more amplifiers, the next step is to start enjoying them. Go find your favourite music, take a seat and get ready to rediscover your music collection.

The front grille

The magneto front grille is located in a separate compartment of the shipping crate. To art see the grille, carefully move it close to the front bell and the magnets pull it into position. In remove the grille, carefully pulls top to loosen it and then take it off

Running in

Your DAJI KORF speakers will experience a "running in" period before they perform optimally especially if they have been exposed to prolonged low temperatures during shipping or storage. Although the running in period will very depending on the incensity of use and playbook volume, you should expect your DAJI KORF speakers to perform at their best lift up to 100 hours of use. Unlike many other mechanical services, the Ileapan of a speaker will increase with regular use.

Precautions

If your amplify or is able to deliver enough power, your DALL KORE speakers are capable of extremely high volume levels. Please remember the listening to music for extended periods at high volume can damage your hearing. Man, as necessitates of those you live with and others easily, if the sound from your DALLKORE speakers improves disturbed, this is a sure sign that your amplify is running out of power. To avoid masking your speakers or amplifier, reduce the volume until the music no longer distorts.

7. Cleaning and maintenance

Your DALL KORE speakers need no special maintenance or care and should be treated by any other valuable item of furniture in your name. Remove dust from the cabinets with a soft dry cloth, and clean them using a soft sample cloth where mills all purpose, non abrasive household cleaning agent. Use caution when dusting the boxes or manage driver comes as they are extremely fragile. We also recommend that, you would starch the tooth car dome and ribbon sweater altogether.

8. Disposal

If you sent to depress of your DALLKORE speakers, don't mix them with your generic household waste. In accordance with EU legislation, a separate collection system for used electronic products enables private households in EU member states, Switzerland, Ithertbanen and Norway to return used electronic products free of charge to designated collection facilities or in a mobile (if you purchase a similar replacement product) if you made in a country not mentioned but also please contact your local authorities to determine the correct method of disposal and prevent any potential negative effects on the environment and human health.
