Frequently Asked Questions - 10698 AEG

What type of device can I plug into this converter?
You can plug any device that operates on 12 V DC and does not exceed 6 A (72 W), such as a cooler, battery charger, or small portable refrigerator.
Can this converter be used outdoors?
No, it is rated IP20, so protected against solid objects but not against water. Use it only in a dry place sheltered from the elements.
Can I leave the converter plugged in all the time?
No, it is not designed for prolonged use. Unplug it after use to avoid overheating and damage.
What should I do if I smell burning or see smoke?
Stop using it immediately, unplug the device and have it checked by a specialized electrician. Do not reuse without inspection.
Is this converter compatible with a car battery?
No, it converts mains power (100-240 V AC) to 12 V DC. To use a 12 V battery, you need a different type of device (charger or inverter).
Can I open the case to repair it?
No, do not open it: it contains live parts and any opening voids the warranty. Entrust any repairs to an authorized workshop.
What does protection class II mean?
This means the device has double insulation and does not require grounding. It offers enhanced protection against electric shock.
How do I clean the converter?
Use a soft dry cloth. Never use water or any liquid product, as it could seep in and cause a short circuit.
Can I use an adapter for the cigarette lighter socket?
Yes, you can use an adapter or extension cord for the cigarette lighter socket, provided it supports 6 A and the cable is not damaged.
How do I dispose of this device at end of life?
Do not throw it in household waste. Take it to a collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in accordance with Directive 2012/19/EU.
