What water to use in the Tefal Access Steam DT7050?

Use untreated tap water. If your water is very hard, mix 50% tap water and 50% commercial demineralized water. Never use water containing additives (perfume, softener, etc.) or condensed water.

How to descale the device?

Perform the ANTI CALC operation: fill the tank with a 50% water and 50% white vinegar mixture, plug in the device, let it heat, then press the steam trigger until the tank is empty. Then rinse with clean water.

Why is there no steam?

Check that the device is plugged in and on, that the tank has enough water, and that it is properly inserted. If it's the first use, hold the trigger for a few seconds to prime the pump.

Water leaks from the tank, what to do?

Make sure the tank cap is tightly closed and the tank is properly locked onto the device. Also check that the voltage selector is in the correct position.

The steam leaves stains on clothes, why?

This may be due to water containing additives or poorly rinsed descaling. Use only tap water or the recommended mixture, and rinse well after descaling.

How to use the door hook?

The door hook allows you to hang a hanger with a garment to steam it. Attach it to a door, hang the garment, then use the steam gun from top to bottom.

Can I use the device on worn clothes?

No, never direct steam at a person or worn garment. Always remove the garment before steaming.

How to clean the device after use?

Unplug the device, let it cool for at least one hour, then clean the exterior with a damp sponge. Never immerse the device in water.

What if steam comes out continuously?

Check that the steam trigger is not in locked position. If it is stuck, unlock it. Also check that the voltage selector is correctly set.

What type of electrical plug is needed?

The device operates on 100-120 V or 220-240 V depending on the selector position. Use a plug suitable for the set voltage. In North America, set to 100-120 V.

When using your appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:

• Use appliance only for its intended use.
• To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
• Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead, grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
• Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let appliance cool completely before putting away.
• Loop cord loosely around appliance when storing.
• Always disconnect appliance from electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying, and when not in use.
• Do not operate appliance with a damaged cord, or if the appliance has been dropped or damaged. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble or attempt to repair the appliance, take it to a qualified service for examination and repair. WARNING: For use in North America, the voltage selector switch should be placed in the 100-120 V position. For use in several others countries, the voltage selector switch may need to be placed in the 220-240 V position.

Confirm the voltage available at each location before using the appliance.

For connection to a 220-240 V supply, use a suitable attachment plug adapter of the proper configuration for the power supply receptacle. Please ensure it meets the safety requirements of the country you are in. Be sure dual voltage selector is in correct voltage position before operating. Before plugging in, read the information about dual voltage operation contained in the instruction section of this manual.

This appliance was set at the factory to operate at 100-120 V. Refer to the Operating Instructions section of this manual for conversion to 220-240 V operation.

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• The use of other accessory attachments than those provided with the appliance is not recommended and may result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.
• Do not direct steam at people, animals or clothes while they are being worn.
• Care should be taken when using the appliance due to the emission of steam.
• Do not leave appliance un-attended while plugged in or while it is still hot.
• Unplug the appliance during filling and cleaning.

• If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a cord with a 15A ampere rated shall be used. A cord rated for less amperage can result in a risk of fire or electric shock due to overheating. Care shall be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or be tripped over.

• The appliance must not be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking.

• Check the electrical power for sign and ware or damage prior to use. If the electrical power is damaged, it must be replaced at an approved service center to avoid any danger.

Before first use

- When you first use the appliance, some smoke or a harmless odour may be produced or there may be a small discharge of particles. This will not affect the use of the appliance and will disappear quickly.

What water to use?

- Your appliance has been designed to use tap water. If your water is very hard, mix 50% tap water and 50% bottled demineralised water. Never use water containing additives (starch, perfume, aromatic substances, softeners, etc.), or condensation water (for example water from tumble dryers, water from refrigerators, water from air conditioning units, rainwater). This water contains organic waste materials or minerals that concentrate under the effect of heat and cause spitting, brown colouring or premature ageing of your appliance.

PROBLEMS POSSIBLE CAUSES SOLUTIONS
There is no steam. The appliance is not plugged in, or not switched on.		Check that your appliance is correctly plugged in and switched on.
		The water level is too low. Unplug your appliance and refill it.
		The steam pump has not been primed.
		You are using the appli-ance for the first time.
		The water tank is not fully in place.
The appliance does not heat.	It is not plugged in, or not switched on.	Plug in your appliance and switch on.
Water leaks. The water tank is not fully in place or the stopper is not closed properly.		Ensure that stopper is closed and that the water tank snaps when put into place.
		The dual voltage is not set correctly.
Steam rate decreases.	Calc Sealing. Refer to 'ANTI CALC section in instruc-tions for use.
The steam leaves stains on the fabric or the appliance spits.	You are using water with additives.	Never add any additive in the water tank.
	The appliance has not been cleaned enough after the descaling operation.	Read carefully the 'ANTI CALC' section in instructions for use.
	You are using other liquids than white vinegar to descale the product.	Use only white vinegar during 'ANTI CALC' procedure.
Appliance steams continuously.	The steam trigger is on the lock position.	Unlock the steam trigger.
There is not enough power or too much.	The dual voltage is not set correctly.	Ensure that the dual voltage selector is in correct voltage position before oper-ating. Unplug the appliance and switch the selector to the correct voltage.
