How to set the DMX starting address?
Navigate the menu using the buttons until 4Ch, 5Ch or 10Ch is displayed. Use the arrows to select the mode then confirm. The starting address is displayed (e.g., d 1). Use the arrows to choose the address (1-508) and confirm.
How to configure master/slave mode?
Chain the units together with DMX cables. On the master unit, select an automatic program (P1 to P4) or a static color. On the slaves, set the DMX address to d 1 (or any address outside the master range) so they follow the master.
How to use custom static colors?
In the menu, select u----. Use the arrows to set the red (r: 0-255), green (g: 0-255), blue (b: 0-255) and amber (A: 0-255) values. Confirm each value.
What automatic programs are available?
Four programs: P1 (4 colors in snap), P2 (4 colors in pulse), P3 (19 colors in snap), P4 (19 colors in fade). Speed is adjusted via S-- (S 1-100).
How to set the dimmer speed?
In the menu, select diM. Choose from oFF (fast response), diM1, diM2 or diM3 (slow to fast). Confirm your choice.
How to activate the strobe?
In 10-channel DMX mode, use channel 7 (Strobe). Values 064-084 produce a slow to fast strobe. Values 000-010 disable the strobe.
What are the essential safety precautions?
The device MUST be connected to a grounded outlet. Never expose eyes directly to the light. Use a safety cable when mounting overhead. Do not immerse (IP65 however). Unplug before cleaning or replacing the fuse.

  • ONLY connect this product to a grounded and protected circuit.
  • DISCONNECT from power before cleaning or replacing the fuse.
  • DO NOT look at the light source when the product is on.
  • Make sure the power cord is not crimped or damaged.
  • Never disconnect this product from power by pulling on the cord.
  • When mounting this product overhead, ALWAYS use a safety cable.
  • DO NOT allow flammable materials close to the product when it is operating.
  • DO NOT touch the product's housing when it is on because it will be hot.

  • The voltage of the outlet to which you are connecting this product must be within the range stated on the decal or rear panel of the product.

  • DO NOT submerge this product (IP65). Regular outdoor operation is fine.
  • Always mount this product in a location with adequate ventilation, at least 20 in (50 cm) from adjacent surfaces.
  • Be sure that no ventilation slots on the unit's housing are blocked.
  • Never connect this product to a dimmer or rheostat.
  • Replace the fuse with the same type and rating.
  • Never carry the product by the power cord. Use only the hanging bracket or handle to carry this product.
  • The maximum ambient temperature is 113°F (45 °C). Do not operate this product at higher temperatures.
  • In the event of a serious operating problem, stop using immediately.

This product has an auto-ranging power supply that works with an input voltage range of 100 to 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz.

DMX Linking

The SlimPAR Pro Q IP can work with a DMX controller. Instructions for connecting and configuring this product for DMX operation are in the User Manual. To learn more about DMX, download the DMX Primer from www.chauvetdj.com.

Starting Address

To ensure full access to all channels available in each DMX mode, the highest recommended DMX address is 503.

Master/Slave Connection

The SlimPAR Pro Q IP uses the DMX data connection for its Master/Slave mode. Information about configuring the SlimPAR Pro Q IP for Master/Slave operation is in the User Manual, which is available from the Chauvet website.
