Frequently Asked Questions - AM22650 RIDGID

Can I use an extension cord with this fan?
No, it is prohibited to use an extension cord with this fan. Plug it directly into a GFCI-protected outlet.
How many units can I daisy-chain?
You can connect up to four additional units (total of five) in a daisy chain, provided the total current does not exceed 8.9 A on a single outlet.
What to do if the built-in circuit breaker trips?
Set the switch to the off position, unplug all units, then press the reset button on the circuit breaker. Then plug the units back in one by one.
The fan stops by itself after a few minutes. Why?
This may be due to an obstruction of the air intake or discharge grilles, triggering the motor's thermal protection. Clean the grilles and allow the unit to cool before restarting.
Can I stack multiple fans for storage?
Yes, you can stack up to three units by positioning them with the outlets facing down and slightly offsetting the vents for stability. Do not operate them stacked.
How to clean the fan?
Unplug the unit, then wipe the polyethylene housing with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents or water inside the motor.
What to do if the power cord is damaged?
Do not use the unit. Have the cord replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized service center, or a qualified technician to avoid any risk.
The fan makes a scraping sound. What should I do?
A scraping sound indicates that the fan wheel is rubbing against the housing after an impact. Contact customer service for repair.
Can I use this fan outdoors?
No, this fan is designed for indoor use only. Do not expose to rain or liquids. Plug it into a GFCI-protected outlet.
How to get replacement parts?
Replacement parts are available at www.RIDGIDparts.com. Order by part number (e.g., 841135 for intake vent).

Motor Specifications and Electrical Requirements

This Air Mover is provided with a 3-speed, 120 volt, 60 Hz induction motor with a grounding conductor. It is thermally protected and will automatically shut down if over-heated. Once it cools, the motor will restart automatically if not unplugged.

In the event of a malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This Air Mover is equipped with an electric cord having an equipment grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into a matching outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

Do not modify the plug provided. If it will not fit the outlet, have the proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
