Frequently Asked Questions - 60.2560.10 TFA

How to set the time manually?
Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds. The time flashes. Use the HR +/- buttons for the hour and MIN +/- buttons for the minutes. Confirm with SET. The setting sequence includes DCF reception, snooze interval, time zone and 12/24h format.
How to activate or deactivate the alarm?
Turn the alarm 180°. When the colored marker is pointing up (ON position), the alarm is activated and the alarm icon appears. In OFF position, the icon disappears and the alarm is deactivated.
How to use the snooze function?
Press the touch button SNOOZE/LIGHT when the alarm sounds. The alarm stops for the set interval (5/10/15 min, default 5 min). The snooze symbol flashes. You can set the interval in setting mode (Sn 5/10/15).
What does the flashing DCF symbol mean?
The DCF symbol flashes while the clock searches for the radio signal. If it stays solid, reception was successful. If it disappears, there is no reception. You can manually activate reception by simultaneously pressing MIN - and HR - for 3 seconds.
How to change the batteries?
When the battery symbol appears on the screen, open the battery compartment at the back and replace the two 1.5V AA batteries with new ones, observing polarity +/-. Use alkaline batteries.
Why is the clock not displaying the correct time?
First check the battery polarity and replace them if necessary. If DCF reception is activated (dcF ON), wait for the nightly reception (2h, 3h, 4h). Otherwise, deactivate DCF reception in setting mode and set the time manually. Keep the device away from sources of interference (screens, metal objects).
How to activate automatic night lighting?
Push the AUTO LIGHT switch to ON (light symbol position). The light sensor detects darkness and activates a low backlight. The AUTO LIGHT symbol appears on the screen.
How to set the time zone?
In setting mode (press and hold SET for 3s), navigate to 'Zo 0'. Use HR +/- to adjust from -9 to +9 hours. Confirm with SET. This allows displaying the time of another time zone while receiving the DCF signal.
What to do if the device does not turn on?
Check the battery polarity and insert two new AA batteries. Make sure the protective film on the screen has been removed. If the screen remains black, contact the seller.
How to clean the device?
Use a soft, damp cloth. Never use solvents or abrasive agents. Protect the device from moisture and do not immerse it in water.

5.3 Note on radio-controlled time

  • The time is transmitted from an atomic clock near Frankfurt am Main by a DCF-77 (77.5 kHz) frequency signal with a range of about 1,500 km. Your radio-controlled clock receives the signal, converts it and always shows the exact time. The adjustment of Daylight Saving Time and Standard Time is also automatic.
  • Make sure to avoid the vicinity of any source of interference such as computer screens, TV sets or solid metal objects. Within concrete walls (reinforced with steel) such as basements, the received signal is naturally weakened. In extreme cases, please place the unit close to a window to improve reception.
  • During night-time, the atmospheric interference is usually less severe. A single daily reception is adequate to keep the accuracy deviation under 1 second.

6.1.2 Time zone setting

- The time zone correction is needed for countries where the DCF signal can be received but the time zone is different from the DCF time (e.g. +1=one hour plus).
