Connection DANGER! Electric shock hazard! The device can cause injuries due to improper installation! Before installation and connecting the local power grid specification should be compared with that of the device (see rating plate). Connect the device only in case of compliance! Connect the device only to properly installed single socket with protective terminal.

  • The electrical circuit in the socket must be secured to at least 16A. Only connect the device directly to the wall socket; do not use any extension cords or power strips.- 28 -
  • Clean the device before first use in accordance with the instructions in 6 "Cleaning and descaling".
  • Fill the basin up to the top with water and add a cleaning agent. Turn the device on and boil the water for several minutes. Next, remove the water from the basin and rinse it with clean water.
  • The device is now ready for preparing food products.

Activating the device

  • Place the basin into the device's housing and carefully insert the circuit box with heating device on the edge of the basin. The bolt at the side of the circuit box must fit in the opening of the slat at the rear of the housing for it to be properly placed. For safety reasons the device only operates when the circuit box is properly placed in the housing, allowing the microswitch to place it in standby mode.
  • Ensure the device is turned off (temperature dial is in position "0" and the ON/OFF switch is in the position "O").
  • Place the heating element shield in the basin.
  • Fill the basin with water to the required level, observing the "MIN" and "MAX" indicators. CAUTION! Never turn the device on without water in the basin. Always ensure that the water level is somewhere between "MIN" and "MAX". Monitor the water and change it as necessary.
  • Turn the device on using the ON/OFF switch (set to position "I"). The green standby light will come on.
  • Set the desired temperature (to 110 °C) using the temperature dial. The orange control light will come on, and will go off when the device reaches the set tempe- rature. When the temperature inside the basin falls, the control light comes back on and the device again heats to the set temperature.- 29 - Preparing dishes NOTE! Put salt into heated water before placing the basket with pasta inside.
  • Place the desired food products into the basket. NOTE! Do not fill the baskets more than halfway, as the food contained may be over- or under-cooked. Follow the instructions for cooking as written on packaging.
  • Place the basket in the basin. Do not leave the device unattended when in operation!
  • After the cooking time has elapsed, grasp the handle and remove the basket from the basin, then place it on an appropriate holder to drain.
  • After draining, the food can be served. WARNING! Risk of burns! Steam may burn arms, hands or fingers. Remove baskets by grabbing the handles. Wear protective gloves when removing baskets containing food.
  • When the water level in the basin falls below "MIN", add or change water.
  • After the device is no longer in use, turn the temperature dial to position "0", and the ON/OFF switch to position "O". Remove the device's plug from its socket.
  • If the device is to remain unused for longer periods, clean it according to the instructions in 6 "Cleaning and descaling" and store in a dry, clean place protected from frost, sunlight and children.

Overheating prevention mechanism

  • If the device is activated with too little or no water in the basin, the device automatically shuts off when it begins to overheat.
  • If this happens, turn the device off using the ON/OFF switch (set to "O") and remove the plug from its socket. Leave the device to cool.- 30 -
  • After the device automatically shuts down to prevent overheating, it can only be reactivated by using the RESET button located at the bottom of the circuit box.
  • First, leave the device to cool, then remove the plastic cover over the RESET button by turning it counterclockwise, press the button, then turn the cover clockwise to replace it.
  • After performing the above steps, the device can be used again.
