How to compensate the probe?

Set the probe attenuation to 10X on the channel menu and the probe switch. Connect the probe to channel 1 and the PROBE COMP connector (~5V @ 1kHz). Press AUTOSET. Use a non-metallic screwdriver to adjust the probe's variable capacitance to obtain a perfect square waveform (neither overcompensated nor undercompensated).

How to perform self-calibration?

Disconnect all probes from the inputs. Turn on the oscilloscope and wait 20 minutes. Press UTILITY, select Do Self Cal and follow the on-screen instructions. Perform this self-calibration if the ambient temperature changes by more than 5°C.

How to measure the frequency of a signal?

Press MEASURE. Turn the V0 knob to select Frequency and press V0. The frequency is displayed at the bottom of the screen. You can also use cursors in time mode.

How to use edge triggering?

Press TRIG MENU. Select Edge as the type. Choose the source (CH1, CH2, EXT). Set the slope (rising or falling) and the level using the TRIGGER LEVEL knob or press SET TO 50% to automatically center the level.

How to save an oscillogram?

Press SAVE/RECALL. On the first page, select the source (CH1, CH2, MATH) and the location (RefA or RefB). Choose Save to save the oscillogram to a reference memory. To save to USB, use the second page with USB Flash.

How to use the FFT function?

First display a stable YT signal. Press MATH MENU, select FFT as the operation. Choose the source (CH1 or CH2) and the window type (Hanning, Flat Top or Rectangular). Adjust the FFT zoom (x1, x2, x5, x10) with the function keys.

How to clean the oscilloscope?

Use a lint-free cloth to remove dust. For deeper cleaning, dampen a soft cloth with water or a 75% isopropyl alcohol solution. Never use corrosive solvents or liquid sprays. Wipe gently without scratching the screen.

What to do if the screen remains black after power-on?

Check that the power cord is properly connected and the fuse has not blown. Ensure the ON/OFF button is pressed. If the problem persists, contact technical support. For a display without oscillogram, check that the probe is connected and the channel is enabled (press CH1 MENU or CH2 MENU).

How to adjust the vertical scale?

Use the VOLTS/DIV knob for each channel. Turn it to change the scale in 1-2-5 steps (coarse mode) or continuously (fine mode, selectable in the vertical menu). The VERTICAL POSITION knob moves the oscillogram vertically.

How to use cursors for measurement?

Press CURSOR. Select the type Voltage or Time. Choose the source (CH1, CH2, MATH, RefA or RefB). Use the V0 knob to move the Cursor S and Cursor E. The Delta values (difference) are displayed automatically.
