Frequently Asked Questions - 405i Testo

What does a red flashing LED mean?

A red flashing indicates that the batteries are almost exhausted. Replace the batteries with new ones.

What to do if the device shuts off automatically?

Automatic shutdown occurs when the remaining battery capacity is too low. Replace the batteries.

Why does the screen display '---' instead of the measurement?

The '---' display means that the measurement range has been exceeded (over or under) or the sensor is defective. Check the measurement and, if necessary, contact Testo after-sales service.

The Testo SMART app is not found in the store, what to do?

Make sure to use the correct search term: "testo Smart Probes". Also check that your device meets the requirements: iOS 12.0+ or Android 6.0+ with Bluetooth 4.2.

How to establish Bluetooth connection with the smartphone?

Install the Testo SMART App, turn on the probe (press the button), then open the App. The LED flashes yellow and then turns green once the connection is established.

How to clean the Testo 405i?

Clean the housing with a damp cloth and soapy water or a mild household cleaner. Do not use solvents or caustic products.

Do I need to calibrate the device regularly?

Yes, it is recommended to calibrate the device once a year to ensure measurement accuracy. Contact Testo after-sales service.

How to export measurements as PDF?

In the App, go to Memory > select a measurement > press the export button > choose Report > enable the PDF option and create the report. You can send it via email or Bluetooth.

What is the Bluetooth range of the probe?

The Bluetooth range is about 15 meters in free field. It may vary depending on the mobile device used.

Can I use the probe continuously in a humid environment?

For prolonged use in humid environments (>80% RH at ≤30°C or >60% RH at >30°C), please contact Testo. The sensor must not be exposed to volatile chemicals.
