Fail- ure to follow the safety notices and instructions may result in electric shock, fi re and / or injuries. ■ This device may be used by people with reduced physical, sen- sory or mental abilities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised or have received instruction on how to use the device safely and have understood the dangers resulting from this. ■ This device must not be used by children. Children and animals must be kept away from the device and the mains cable! ■ The device is not a toy! ■ The device is not designed to be operated with an external timer or a separate remote control system. ■ Never immerse the device, mains cable or mains plug in water or other liquids and ensure that they cannot fall into water or become wet. ■ The device must always be disconnected from the mains power when it is left unattended, when it is being assembled or disas- sembled, and before cleaning. ■ Do not make any modifi cations to the device. You may not re- place the mains cable yourself. If the device, the mains cable or the mains plug of the device is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, customer service department or a similarly qualifi ed person (e.g. specialist workshop) in order to avoid any hazards. ■ It is essential to follow the instructions in the “Cleaning and Care” chapter.EN 14 DANGER – Danger of Electric Shock ■ Never immerse the motor unit, mains cable or mains plug in water or other liquids and ensure that they cannot fall into water or become wet. ■ Should the device fall into water, switch off the power supply immediately. Do not at- tempt to pull the device out of the water while it is still connected to the mains power! ■ Never touch the device, mains cable or mains plug with wet hands when these com- ponents are connected to the mains power. WARNING – Danger of Injury ■ Warning of suffocation! Keep children and animals away from the packaging ma- terial. ■ Danger of strangulation! Make sure that the mains cable is always kept out of the reach of small children and animals. ■ Danger of injuries caused by rotating parts of the device! Keep clothing, jewel- lery, hair, hands and other body parts away from the device so that nothing can get caught in rotating device parts. ■ Danger of scalding! Do not use any hot food in the device as it could spurt out during use. ■ Danger of tripping! Make sure that the connected mains cable does not present a trip hazard. The mains cable must not hang down from the surface on which the device is placed in order to prevent the device from being pulled down. ■ Do not move the device during operation. Ensure suffi cient stability. WARNING – Danger of Fire ■ Do not use the device in rooms containing easily ignitable dust or poisonous and explosive fumes. ■ Do not operate the device in the vicinity of combustible material. Do not place any combustible materials (e.g. cardboard, paper or plastic) on or in the device. ■ Do not cover the device during operation. ■ Do not place any objects into the ventilation slots of the device and make sure that no objects block the ventilation slots. ■ In the event of a fi re: Do not extinguish with water! Smother the fl ames with a fi re- proof blanket or a suitable fi re extinguisher. NOTICE – Risk of Damage to Material and Property ■ Only connect the device to a properly installed plug socket. The socket must also be readily accessible after connection so that the connection to the mains can quickly be isolated. The mains voltage must match the rating plate of the device. Only use suitable extension cables whose technical data is the same as that of the device. ■ Always place the device on a dry, level and solid surface with adequate space on all sides. ■ The device should only be used if it has been correctly assembled!15 EN ■ Make sure that the mains cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and does not come into contact with hot surfaces. ■ The mains cable must not hang down from the surface on which the device is placed in order to prevent the device from being pulled down. ■ Switch off the device and pull the mains plug out of the plug socket if an error occurs during operation or before a thunderstorm. ■ When the mains plug is removed from the plug socket, always pull on the mains plug and never the mains cable. ■ Do not pull or carry the device by the mains cable. ■ Do not operate the device without food. This might result in the device overheating or damage to the motor. ■ Use only original spare parts from the manufacturer. If accessory parts which are not authorised by the manufacturer are used, all warranty and guarantee claims are void. ■ Never place heavy objects on the device. ■ Protect the device from other heat sources, naked fl ames, sub-zero temperatures, persistent moisture, wet conditions, direct sunlight and impacts. Dough Hooks The dough hooks are suitable for stirring and kneading bread doughs and cake mix- tures. Mixing Bowl The mixing bowl is used for receiving the food during the preparation of cake mixtures and bread doughs, for example, and for mixing together eggs and whipped cream, for example. Before Initial Use PLEASE NOTE! ■ Never remove the rating plate and any possible warnings!

1. Check the items supplied for completeness (see the “Items Supplied and Device

Overview” chapter) and possible transport damage. If you fi nd any damage to the components, do not use them (!), but contact our customer service department.

2. Remove any protective fi lms and stickers that may be present from the device.

3. Clean the accessories before you fi rst use them as they may have possible produc-

tion residues on them. To do this, follow the instructions in “Cleaning and Storage”. Use PLEASE NOTE! ■ Make sure that the switch for adjusting the speed settings is in the 0 position before the device is connected to the mains power. ■ Do not overfi ll the mixing bowl. This might result in the device overheating or dam- age to the motor. ■ Never switch on the device if the tilting mixer head has not been fl ipped down! ■ Never fl ip up the tilting mixer head during use. The device must be switched off when the tilting mixer head is being fl ipped up or down. ■ Never fi ll the device with hot food or liquids! The contents must not be hotter than 50°C. Allow hot food to cool down before processing it any further with the device. ■ Remove the mains plug from the plug socket before each exchange of the inserts. ■ Make sure that the inserts are not mixed up for use. Only either the dough hooks or the stirrers may be used at any one time. The device is equipped with overload protection that deactivates the device when it overloads. If this occurs, immediately disconnect the plug from the socket and17 EN let the device cool off for approximately 10 minutes. Afterwards, the device is ready for use again.

1. Place the device on a dry, even and fi rm surface with suffi cient clearance around it.

2. Place the ingredients in the mixing bowl in accordance with your recipe.

3. Press the release button and attach the mixer head.

4. Insert the mixing bowl into the basic device. Rotate the mixing bowl clockwise to-

wards the closed lock symbol (on the basic device). Hold the turntable fi rmly as you do so.

5. Choose the inserts you want (see the “Accessories” chapter).

6. Slide the inserts into the receiving socket on the mixer head. Note the markings (L

and R) on the inserts and the receiving socket. The insert with the marking R goes in the receiving socket with the marking R. The same applies to the insert and receiv- ing socket with the marking L.

7. Turn the insert to the right until the locking lug fi ts in the recess provided in the re-

ceiving socket. The insert must be heard to engage in place.

8. Press the release button and fl ip down the mixer head until it clicks into the motor

9. Make sure that the switch for adjusting the speed settings is in the 0 position before

you connect the device to the mains power in order not to switch the device on ac- cidentally.

10. Set a suitable speed setting using the switch for adjusting the speed settings:

1 - 3 Slow mixing, stirring and kneading

4 - 6 Fast mixing, stirring and kneading

11. To get even mixing, stirring and kneading, the bowl can be turned by hand and be

moved back and forth with the aid of the lever (on the front of the basic device).

12. To switch off the device, move the switch for the speed settings to the 0 position.

Danger of injury due to rotating device parts! Always wait until the inserts have come to a complete standstill before putting up the mixer head.

13. Remove the mains plug from the plug socket.

14. Press the release button and attach the mixer head.

15. Remove the inserts by pressing the eject button on the top of the mixer head.

16. Rotate the mixing bowl anticlockwise towards the open lock symbol

(on the basic device). Hold the turntable fi rmly as you do so. You can now remove the mixing bowl. Cleaning and Storage PLEASE NOTE! ■ Clean the device immediately after every use to prevent the formation of germs. ■ Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning. These could dam- age the surfaces.

1. Ensure that the appliance has been disconnected from the mains.EN 18

2. Remove the mixing bowl and the stirrers from the base unit.

3. Clean all used accessories and the mixing bowl with warm, clean water and some

detergent. Rinse all parts under running water or in the dishwasher.

4. Clean the base unit with a moist, soft cloth and dry with a soft cloth.

5. Allow to dry completely before assembling the appliance again and/or storing it in a
