Use E5 Super unleaded (95 RON) or alternatively E10 (91 RON) with slight power restrictions.
How to adjust the seat height?
Under the seat there is a height adjustment (page 149 of the manual). Turn the knob to set the seat to the desired position.
How to reset the service light?
The reset must be carried out by a BMW Motorrad dealer or a specialized workshop using the diagnostic system. The light goes out after the service.
How to use the hill start assistant?
Firmly apply the brake, then release it. The system maintains brake pressure for about 2 seconds to allow you to start on a hill without rolling back.
What to do if tire pressure is too low?
A flashing red warning light and the message 'Tire pressure differs from set value' appear. Stop immediately, check the tires and adjust the pressure to 2.9 bar (front and rear cold).
How to pair a smartphone via Bluetooth?
From the TFT screen, go to Settings > Bluetooth and enable Bluetooth. On your phone, search for 'BMW K 1600 GT' and accept pairing. The PIN code may be displayed on the screen.
How to activate the cruise control?
Press the Cruise control button on the left handlebar (page 88). Ride at the desired speed and press 'Set' to memorize. Use the arrows to increase or decrease.
How does the intelligent emergency call work?
In the event of a serious accident, the system automatically sends GPS coordinates to the emergency center. You can also trigger the call manually using the SOS button on the right handlebar switch (page 74).
What engine oil to use and how to check the level?
Use a high-quality engine oil BMW Motorrad or equivalent (viscosity SAE 5W-40 or 10W-40). The level is checked electronically on the TFT screen in the 'My vehicle' menu, with the engine hot and the motorcycle upright.
How to unlock the fuel cap without remote control?
In case of remote control failure, use the spare key (page 72). Insert it into the manual lock located under the tank cover to unlock the cap.
