12.2 General safety instructions

• Avoid injuries and damage, by transporting the equipment only in a package.

• Assemble and connect the appliance only in accordance with the instructions in this manual.

• The plug must be accessible after assembly.

• In the event of an emergency unplug the appliance immediately. WARNING Do not touch the plug and the power supply cord with wet or damp hands when you are connecting or removing them. DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION!

• Hold the plug tightly whilst removing the power cord. Do not pull on the power cord.

• Remove the plug before a cleaning or maintenance procedure.

• A damaged power cord must be replaced immediately by the supplier, dealer or customer service department. If the power cord or the plug is damaged, you can no longer use the appliance.

• Do not implement any further change except for the cleaning and maintenance procedures specified in these instructions.

• If you leave the equipment unattended and before each assembly, disassembly or cleaning of the accessories (nozzles, brushes, hoses, filters etc.) or of the appliance itself, always unplug it from the power supply. • Set up the vacuum cleaner on an easily accessible, even, dry, heatproof and sufficiently stable work surface. Do not place the vacuum cleaner on the rim or on the edge of the work surface.

• Do not expose the vacuum cleaner to a high temperature (heating etc.) or to adverse weather conditions (rain etc.).

• Do not use the floor vacuum cleaner any longer if its plastic components have tears or cracks or have been deformed.

• Do not suck up burning or glowing items such as cigarettes or seemingly extinguished ash.

• Do not suck up liquids or damp dirt. Let damp cleaned or shampooed carpets dry before vacuuming.

• Do not suck up toner dust from printers or copiers. The filter system cannot filter toner dust perfectly. The toner dust would be blown into the room again by the blower.

• Do not vacuum up easily flammable or explosive materials or gases.

• Do not vacuum up sharp- edged, heavy or hard objects. The vacuum cleaner would be blocked.

• Do not stand or sit on the vacuum cleaner. 13 Assembly of the wall bracket WARNING! Make sure beforehand whether there are lines hidden in the wall that you could damage! 8 Measure the height for the wall bracket. 9 Hold the vacuum cleaner against the wall, when it is completely assembled with both suction tubes and the floor nozzle. 10 Hold the wall bracket against the wall so that the two boreholes are above it. 11 Mark holes. 12 Bore the holes and set the dowels in the wall. 13 Stick the screws through the boreholes of the wall bracket. Turn the screws with the wall bracket into the dowels. 14 Hand tighten the screws. 14 Initial start-up and operation

• Put a suction tube with the thicker end on the connection on the appliance.

• If necessary put the thicker end of the second suction tube on the other suction tube.

• In order to loosen the suction tubes, twist them slightly to pull them off.

14.1 Using the appliance

8 Unwind the mains cable completely. 9 Insert the mains plug into an earthed socket that has been installed in accordance with the regulations. 10 Turn the appliance on with the On/Off switch. 11 Switch position: 1 12 Adjust the floor nozzle with the lever in accordance with the floor covering. 13 Now use the vacuum cleaner with an even speed. 14 Pressing on it isn’t necessary.Seite | 30 PLEASE NOTE: Pay attention to the reach, which is limited by the cable length.

14.1.1 Nozzle attachments

• You can put the nozzle attachments both directly on the connection on the appliance and on the suction tube, which is already installed.

• In order to loosen the suction tubes, twist them slightly to pull them off.

• The floor nozzle is equipped with rollers for easier guidance.

• You can clean smooth surfaces and carpets with the floor nozzle.

• With the lever (10) place the brushes outward or inward.

• Optimal use depends on the condition of the floor.

• We recommend the following use: use without brushes: For vacuuming carpets with a high pile

• use with brushes: For vacuuming smooth floors and carpets with a low pile Crevice nozzle

• With the crevice nozzle you can purposefully clean corners and slots. Brush nozzle

• The brush nozzle is particularly suitable for vacuum cleaning, upholstery, curtains or books.

14.1.2 Ending operation

6 Turn the floor vacuum cleaner off by using the On/Off switch and unplug it from the socket. 7 Let the appliance cool down completely. 8 If you installed the wall bracket already, hang the vacuum cleaner on it. 9 You can attach the crevice nozzle and the brush nozzle on the left and on the right beside the vacuum cleaner. 10 You can wind the mains cable loosely around the handle and the dust container.

14.2 Emptying the dust container

6 Unplug the appliance from the socket. 7 If necessary, loosen the suction tube or the nozzle attachment from the appliance. 8 Hold the appliance with the bottom plate of the dust container over a rubbish bin.Seite | 31 9 Empty the contents of the dust container. To do this, push the dust container opener downward, in order to open the bottom plate. 10 Close the bottom plate again. The locking device on the dust container must click into place. 15 The filter system

• Your appliance has 3 filters. The conventional dust bag system • was replaced by a transparent dust container. • In it coarse dirt and the smallest particles are whirled by the high flow rate • out of the “suction air”. • There is no need to buy dust bags. • The filters must be cleaned regularly. ATTENTION:
• Never wash the filters in the washing machine. • Do not use a hair dryer to dry them. • Only put the appliance back into operation, if all • the filters are completely dry and properly installed.

15.1 The filter unit

The filter unit consists of: a HEPA filter • a coarse filter (see figure B)

15.1.1 Proceed as follows to clean the

filter unit: 7 Empty the dust container as previously described. 8 (Points 1 - 4) 9 Disassembly of the filter unit

2.1 Turn the coarse filter

counterclockwise and remove it from the guide rails. Remove the coarse filter from the dust container.

2.2 Turn the HEPA filter

counterclockwise and remove it from the guide rails. 10 Remove the coarse filter from the dust container. You can brush the HEPA filter thoroughly. In the event of more severe dirt, clean the filters under running water. 11 Let the filters completely dry in the air before using them again! 12 You can wipe the dust container out with a damp cloth. 15.1.2 Disassembly of the filter unit

Pay attention to the accompanying illustration. 4 Set the HEPA filter with its 3 guides into the inner circle. Tighten the filter by turning it in the clockwise direction. 5 Set the coarse filter above the HEPA filter with its 3 guides into the outer circle. 6 Tighten the coarse filter by turning it in the clockwise direction. ATTENTION: If the filters are not tightly in position, dirt will enter into the motor. The motor can be damaged by this. Close the bottom plate.

15.1.3 Replacement HEPA filter

You can order this via our internet service portal.

In addition your appliance has an outlet filter. The cover of the filter is on the back of the appliance. 6 Unscrew the cover in the counter-clockwise direction. 7 Remove the filter fleece and wash it out. 8 Let the filter fleece completely dry in the air before putting it back into the appliance. 9 Close the outlet filter with the cover. 10 Turn this in the clockwise direction onto the appliance. 16 Cleaning and maintenance CAUTION Danger of injury! Improper handling of the vacuum cleaner can lead to injuries. Switch the vacuum cleaner off every time before you clean or maintain it and unplug it from the socket. PLEASE NOTE! Switch the appliance off and unplug it every time before you clean it. For optimal use of the appliance and to guarantee a longer life span, empty the container regularly and clean its filters.Seite | 33 ATTENTION

• Do not immerse the motor unit, the plug or the mains cord in water or any other liquid. (Clean it only with a dry cloth.)

• Clean the brushes and nozzles regularly.

• Use water and a sponge, which has been slightly dipped into a liquid cleaning agent. Then rinse it off thoroughly and dry it. Don’t use any steel wool or abrasive products.

• If the appliance is not being used for an extended period of time, it must be covered and placed in a dry location, in an upright position. The appliance can be carried by the handle on the motor unit. It is recommended that you put it back into its original packaging in order to protect it against dust and humidity.

In addition, we grant you a warranty under the following conditions: Benefit duration The warranty lasts for 24 months from the date of purchase. (Proof of purchase must be submitted.) During the first 6 months, any defects on the appliance will be eliminated free of charge, provided that the appliance is accessible for repairs without any special effort. In the further 18 months, the purchaser is obliged to prove that the defect was already in existence when the appliance was delivered. For industrial use (e.g. in hotels or canteens) or for community use by several households, the warranty lasts for 12 months from the date of purchase. (Proof of purchase must be submitted.) During the first 6 months, any defects on the appliance will be eliminated free of charge, provided that the appliance is accessible for repairs without any special effort. In the further 6 months, the purchaser is obliged to prove that the defect was already in existence when the appliance was delivered. If a claim is made on the warranty, the warranty will not be extended for either the appliance or for newly installed parts. Extent of defect rectification We will rectify all defects on the appliance that can be proven to be attributed to faulty workmanship or material defects. Replaced parts will become our property. The following are excluded: Normal wear and tear, deliberate or negligent damage, damage that was caused by a failure to comply with the user manual, improper assembly and/or installation or connection of the appliance to the wrong mains voltage, damage due to chemical and/or electro thermal effects or other abnormal environmental conditions, glass, varnish or enamel damage, variations in colour and defective light bulbs. Likewise, defects on the appliance are excluded if they are to be attributed to damage in transit. We do not render any services if any work has been performed on the Exquisit appliance by unauthorized persons or if parts from a third party were used without our specific written permission. This restriction shall not apply to error-free work that was performed by a qualified professional within our organization to adapt the appliance to the technical safety provisions of another EU country.Seite | 35 Area of application Our warranty applies to appliances that were purchased in an EU country and that are in operation in the Federal Republic of Germany or Austria.
