Functioning
The solar cell installed in the product converts sunlight into electrical energy and stores it in one rechargeable battery. Switch on the product with the ON/OFF button 15. The product will automatically light on as it begins to get dark. The in-built light-emitting diodes are a very long-life and energy-saving light source. The light duration depends on the amount of sunlight, the angle of light on the solar cell and the temperature (the battery capacity is temperature-dependent). A vertical angle of light at temperatures above the freezing point is ideal. The battery does not achieve maximum capacity until after several charge and discharge cycles. In summer a completely drained rechargeable battery takes about 2 to 4 days to fully recharge in constant sunlight.
Operation
- Take out the solar panel compartment.
Switch the ON / OFF button 15 to ON position, the product will automatically switch on at dusk (see Fig. C).
Put the solar panel compartment back into decoration figure 1. Insert the tail 2 and stand 7 to the main body (see Fig. B).
- Setting up the product (see Fig. B)
☐ Insert the stand to the Decoration figure 1 then use the secure screw 8 to fix it. Place the ground spike 6 over the top of the stand 7 then anchor ground spike 6 to the ground to fix it.
Model C:
☐ Insert the ☐ to the decoration figure 1.
Model A and B:
● Replacing the rechargeable battery (see Fig. C)
☐ Insert the ☐ to the connector 3, then use hexagon screws 5 by hexagon key 4 to fix it. After that, insert the connector 3 to the decoration figure 1 upward or downward and fix it with hexagon screw 5 too.
In order to achieve the best result, set the product up in a place where the solar panel 9 will get direct sunlight for as long as possible.
☐ Make sure that the solar panel is not influenced by any other source of light such as yard or street lighting as otherwise the light will not come on in twilight.
☐ The light automatically switches on in twilight conditions and off again when normal outdoor lighting conditions return.
The battery should be replaced every
12 months to ensure optimum performance.
- Take out the solar panel compartment. If necessary, take a tool to help. Switch the ON / OFF button 15 to OFF position to switch off the product. Loosen the fastening screws 10 by using a small cross head screwdriver and then lever out the battery compartment cover 11 with the help of a slot screwdriver.
- Exchange the old rechargeable battery ^14 to a new one. Take care to the correct polarity, when inserting the new rechargeable battery. The polarity is indicated in the battery compartment ^13 . The new rechargeable battery has to have the same technical data like the old one (see "Technical data").
- Now again fasten the battery compartment cover 11. Pay attention to the seal, otherwise the IP protection is not guaranteed. Fasten the fastening screws 10 by using a small cross head screwdriver. Switch the ON / OFF button 15 to ON position to enable the product switching on during darkness.
● Charging the rechargeable battery
Note that the product must be switched on when the rechargeable battery is charging. The charging time of the rechargeable battery when the solar cell is used depends on the intensity
of the sunlight and the angle of incidence of the light on the solar panel 9. Place the solar panel 9 as perpendicular as possible to the angle of incidence of the light. In this way you will receive the highest light levels.
● Maintenance and care
The LED 12 cannot be replaced. The product is maintenance-free, except for any necessary change of rechargeable battery.
☐ Clean the product regularly with a dry, lint-free cloth. Use a slightly dampened cloth to remove more stubborn dirt.
