Installation and use of height rod

This symbol means: "Consult operating instructions". To achieve accurate results, read the instructions for use carefully before use and follow all instructions provided therein. Keep the instructions for use for future reference.

Your ADE height measuring rod is a quality product. For measuring the length of adults and children the height measuring rod can either be used at your ADE column scale or can be fixed directly to the wall. In order to achieve best possible results please carefully follow the operating and mounting instructions: Carton content: Telescopic measuring rod Mounting material for fixing at ADE column scale or at the wall (see picture below) Instruction manual

Column assembly: 1 spacer blocks for mounting to backside of the column 1 M6 screw 2 M5 screws Wall assembly: 2 spacers 2 screws, short (for assembling to wood or metal walls) 2 dowels S6 2 screws, long (for assembling to brick or concrete walls) 2 washers

Assembling block for fixing of the height rod to the back side of the ADE column scales including fixing screws.

B: Screw set for wall mounting incl. wall dowels, screws and washers.6 MZ10023-210420-Rev006-UM-de-e-fr-nl Installation Assembly to ADE column scale: Place the assembling block for fixing the height rod at the backside of the column over the two holes at the column of the scale. Use the 2 x M5 screws and turn them carefully tight. Place the height rod with the printed side onto the assembling block by using the two mounting holes and fix the rod by using the M6 screw (lower hole). Make sure that the screw is tightened well. Assembling to the wall: Carefully measure with an exact measure 56 cm from the floor and mark the wall. Pull out the height rod to full length. Exactly place the height measure over the marking at the hole beneath the 60 cm point on the height measure. Use a spirit level to align the height rod and mark the wall at the second fix point at 122,5 cm. Drill holes right at the marking and use the supplied dowels. You will need 1 washer for the lower screw. Slide the washer over the screw and insert the screw through the lower hole of the measuring rod from the printed side. Do the same with the second screw using the upper hole. Now place the two spacers over the screws. Place the two screws into the dowels. Make sure both screws have been carefully tightened. Safety advice Follow the instructions of the Operating Manual. Attach the height rod only on ADE column scales. After finishing the measurement make sure to fold the measuring tongue down to avoid danger of injury. Operating Instructions

1. Adjust the measuring tongue to a horizontal position.

2. Slide the measuring tongue up just above of the person to be measured.

3. Place the person to be measured under the measuring tongue.

4. Slide the measuring tongue down to the person’s head.

5. Take the result from the readout point.

Warranty – Liability ADE will repair or replace this product within a period of 2 years from date of delivery applying to defects occurred due to poor material or workmanship (presentation of invoice is necessary). All moveable parts – batteries, cables, mains units, rechargeable batteries etc. – are excluded. Warranty does not include natural wear, damages caused by incorrect or negligent handling, overuse or unsuitable or improper storage. The cost of transport will be borne by the customer should the equipment be located anywhere other than the customer’s premises. In the event of transport damage, claims under warranty can be accepted subject to using the complete original packaging and the equipment secured the way it was packed and secured originally. All the packaging should therefore be retained. Any warranty claim will be rejected if the equipment is opened by persons not authorized expressively by ADE to do so. Customers abroad are kindly requested to contact their local dealer for any warranty claim, customer service and spare parts.
