This operating manual describes how to safely use and care for your products. Keep this operating manual in a safe place in case you would like to refer to it later. If you pass this item on to someone else, pass on this manual as well. Failure to observe the recommendations in this operating manual can lead to injuries or damage to your product. Safety This item can be used by children 8 years of age and above, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities or lacking experience and knowledge, if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the item and understand the dangers that may arise. Children must not play with the item. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are 8 years of age or older and are being supervised. Batteries, when swallowed, can be life-threatening. You should therefore keep the batteries and scales out of reach of small children. If a battery is swallowed, medical assistance must be sought immediately. DANGER for Children Keep children away from packaging material. Risk of choking if swallowed. Also pay attention that children do not pull the packaging material over their heads. RISK of fire/burning and/or explosion There is a risk of explosion if batteries are replaced incorrectly. Replace the battery using only the same or an equivalent type of battery. Batteries must not be recharged, reactivated by other means, dismantled, thrown into fire, or short-circuited. Otherwise there is an increased risk of explosion and of leakage; furthermore, gases may escape. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and mucosa. If you come into contact with battery acid, flush the affected site immediately with plenty of clean water and see a doctor promptly. BEWARE of material damage Place the scales on a stable, even surface. Do not overload the scales. Place animals on the scales exclusively for weighing purposes. Protect the scales from sharp jolts and vibrations. Remove the batteries from the scales if they have been used up or if you are not going to use the scales for a long time. You will thus avoid damage that may result from the leakage of battery acid. When inserting and changing batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-). Do not subject the battery to any extreme conditions, by – for example – storing it on radiators or under direct sunlight. Increased risk of leakage! Clean the battery and device contacts, as needed, before inserting the battery. Only insert batteries of the same type; do not use different types or used and new batteries with each other.12 MV303600-210517-Rev002-UM-de-e-fr-es-it Do not make any modifications to the item. Only allow repairs to be carried out at a specialist workshop. Repairs carried out incorrectly can considerably endanger the user. Do not place the scales in the vicinity of devices that may emit electromagnetic radiation, such as mobile phones, wireless devices, or the like. Doing so may lead to incorrect display indicators or malfunctions. There are feet on the underside of the scales. Since surfaces are made from various materials and are treated with diverse care products, the possibility cannot be completely excluded that some of these substances contain constituents that attack and soften the feet of the device. 6MV303600-210517-Rev002-UM-de-e-fr-es-it 13 Start-Up Insert and replace the battery: To install batteries, remove the battery compartment cover located on the bottom of the scale. Insert two AAA alkaline batteries. Make sure that they are inserted according to the pole marking. When battery power is low, the display will show ‘lo’. Please replace the batteries. Positioning the scales Place the scales on an even, firm, and dry surface. Do not place the scales on a carpet. The scale and base surface, e.g. a table, must not wobble in any case. An uneven surface could result in inaccurate readings. Weighing

1. Press the ON/OFF button.

2. Wait for a couple of seconds until the display shows zeros. A short function test

‘8888’ can be seen on the display before it comes to ‘0.00’ or 0: 0. Once the scale shows zeros on the display, it is ready to use.

3. Place your pet on the scale, as close to the centre of the scale as possible. The

weight reading will show on the display. Switching the scale off To switch the scale off, press ON/OFF button. The scales automatically switch off if they are not used for approx. 60 seconds. Hold function The Hold function allows you obtain an accurate weight reading, even if the animal is moving on the scale. With the animal on the scale, press HOLD once. The weight reading will flash several times, and then display the correct weight for around six seconds. Afterwards, the scale switches off automatically. Tare function The Tare function allows you to remove unwanted weight readings, such as a towel or blanket. With the scale switched off, place the item you wish to tare off (towel or blanket) onto the platform. Press ON/OFF once. The display will show zero. You can now place your pet on the scale and only the weight of pet will display. When switching the scale off the tare weight will be automatically cancelled. Choosing the unit of measurement At any time, with the scale switched on press UNIT to toggle between kg and lb readings. The scale will start up in the last setting.14 MV303600-210517-Rev002-UM-de-e-fr-es-it Care and maintenance Cleaning For cleaning just use a damp cloth or common disinfection fluids. Do not use any aggressive cleaning fluids. Make sure no water or cleaning fluids is penetrating the scale. Do not under any circumstances use harsh, scraping, or abrasive cleaning agents or the like to clean the scales. If you do, the surface could be scratched. Fault/Remedy Fault

The scales appear to be displaying false weighing results Are the scales standing on a firm, even surface? Are the scales exposed to extraordinary temperatures? Is a device that can cause electromagnetic disturbances located in the vicinity of the scales? Remove the battery from the scales and wait a moment. Reinsert the battery.

Storage and Transport Please keep all original parts and pieces for an eventual sending back of the scale in order to avoid any possible damage during transport which automatically leads to non warranty. Disposal

Waste electrical equipment do not belong in household waste. Devices with this marking may not be disposed of as residual waste, but must be recycled.

Remove (if possible) all batteries and rechargeable batteries from the devices and send them to the battery disposal.

Make sure that only depleted batteries or batteries with insulated poles are disposed of so that there is no short circuit!MV303600-210517-Rev002-UM-de-e-fr-es-it 15 Warranty – Liability ADE will repair or replace this product within a period of 1 year from date of delivery applying to defects occurred due to poor material or workmanship (presentation of invoice is necessary). All moveable parts – batteries, cables, mains units, rechargeable batteries etc. – are excluded. Warranty does not include natural wear, damages caused by incorrect or negligent handling, overuse or unsuitable or improper storage. The cost of transport will be borne by the customer should the equipment be located anywhere other then the customer’s premises. In the event of transport damage, claims under warranty can be accepted subject to using the complete original packaging and the equipment secured the way it was packed and secured originally. All the packaging should therefore be retained. Any warranty claim will be rejected if the equipment is opened by persons not authorized expressively by ADE to do so.
