Set up your phone system Package contents 1 Base station 1 Cordless handset 3 NiMH-Akkus, 1,2 V, 600 mAh 1 Adapter 1 Carrying clip for handset 1 Line cord 1 User’s manual Connection the base station Installing the batteries Charging Before initial operation, fully charge the handset for 15 hours or more. To charge the handset, simply place it on the charger. Using handset carrying clip (optional) The supplied handset carrying clip allows you to conveniently carry the handset with you. It clips easily to your belt, waist band, or shirt pocket. To AC wall outlet To phone wall outletUsing headset (optional) The headset jack is located in the left side of the handset and is 3.5 mm standard plug. Simply plug the headset into this jack and the headset will be activated. Using the phone Key functions To enter *. Press and hold to turn on/off keypad lock function. In standby mode press and hold this key to activate the torch function. Perform the functions indicated by the text immediately over them (on the bottom line of the display) which changes time by time. End call key: Press to turn the phone on. If held pressed, turns the phone off. In menu mode, briefly press it to cancel your input and return to standby mode. During a call, briefly press it to end the call. Talk key: Makes telephone calls and answers them. If pressed during a call, activates the speakerphone for handsfree operation. One-touch memories. You can store 3 numbers in One-touch memories (M1, M2 and SOS = M3). Navigation key: Up key / calls list: Scroll up through lists and menu options. Enter the incoming calls list. Down key / phonebook: Scroll down through lists and menu options. Enter the phonebook.
INT key: Set up an internal call to another handset. Transfer an incoming call to another handset. Redial: Redial a number. Insert one or more pauses when pre-dialing. Display icons Shows the current signal strength. The more segments, the stronger the signal. Indicates the handsfree function is enabled. New entries in the calls list. Battery charge level: = full / = empty.) Alarms set to ring at a specified time. Keypad is locked. The line is engaged. One or more messages in yoir voice mailbox (depends on provider). Vibration is activated. To turn off the handset, press and hold the End call key until the display goes out. Setting the language In the delivery state, the language is set to "English". 1 Press Menu, select HS Settings and press Select. 2 Select Language and press Select. 3 Select the desired language and press Save. Setting date and time 1 Press Menu, select HS Settings and press Select. 2 Select Date & Time and press Select. 3 Select Set Time and press Select. 4 Enter the current time and press Save. 5 Select Set Date and press Select. 6 Enter the current date and press Save. 7 Select Date Format and press Select. 8 Select the desired date format and press Save. 9 Select Time Format and press Select. 10 Select the desired time format and press Save.
1 Enter the telephone number. If you make a mistake, correct it by using the Erase key. 2 Press the Talk key. 3 To end the call, press the End call key or replace the handset on the charger. Taking a call 1 Press the Talk key. 2 To end the call, press the End call key or replace the handset on the charger. Hands-free 1 Press the Talk key once again during a call. 2 To turn off the speakerphone, press the key again. Redial 1 Press or Redial to open the redial list. 2 Select an entry and press the Talk key. Setting the volume 1 Whilst in a call press the volume keys located on the side of the handset. Amplification Your phone is equipped with a specialized amplification function. 1 Whilst in a call press the Amplification key, located on the side of the handset, to enable the function. You can also use the Tone setting key to control the sound. 2 Press the key once again to disable the function. 22Mute (microphone off) 1 Press Mute to mute the microphone. 2 Press Mute once again to switch on the microphone. Locking the keypad (cordless handset only) If the keypad is locked, all keys except M1, M2, SOS and the Talk key are locked so that you can call the direct call numbers or accept an incoming call. During this call, the key lock is released, but it is activated again after the call is ended. 1 In idle state press and hold the * key, until the symbol appears, to lock the keypad. 2 For unlocking the keypad press and hold the * key until the symbol disappears. Paging (base phone only) To find a mislaid handset, you can initiate a paging call on the base. 1 In idle state press the paging key . 2 To cancel the paging press the key once again or press any key on the handset. Phonebook Storing a new entry 1 Press Menu, select Phonebook and press Select. 2 Select New and press Select. 3 Enter the name and press Select. 4 Enter the telephone number and press Select. 5 Select a melody for this entry and press Save. Dialing from the phonebook 1 Press . 2 Select an entry and press the Talk key. Editing or deleting entries 1 Press Menu, select Phonebook and press Select. 2 Select Edit or Delete and press Select. 3 Select an entry (M1, M2, M3 = direct call keys) and press Select to edit or to delete it.
GBDeleting all entries 1 Press Menu, select Phonebook and press Select. 2 Select Delete All and press Select. 3 Confirm the confirmation query. Phonebook status 1 Press Menu, select Phonebook and press Select. 2 Select PB Status and press Select. 3 The current status is displayed (e.g. 03/50: 3 out of 50 possible entries are used). Call log Viewing calls and calling 1 Press Menu, select CID Book and press Select.
1 Press . 2 Select an entry. Missed calls are marked with a , already reviewed calls with a . 3 Press the Talk key to call the telephone number. Editing entries 1 Press Menu, select CID Book and press Select.
1 Press . 2 Select an entry and press More. You can save or delete the entry or delete the entire list. Direct call keys Storing telephone numbers 1 Press one of the direct call keys (M1, M2 or SOS). 2 If a telephone number has not yet been stored, enter a number and press Next. 3 Select a melody for this entry and press Save. Dialing with direct call keys 1 Press one of the direct call keys to dial the stored number. 24Editing or deleting direct call numbers 1 Press Menu, select Phonebook and press Select. 2 Select Edit or Delete and press Select. 3 Select the entry (M1/M2/SOS=M3), you want to edit or delete, and press Select. Internal call 1 Press . 2 Enter the number for the desired device. Transfering a call / 3-party conference 1 You are conducting an external call and want to forward it internally or establish a 3-party conference. 2 Press . 3 Enter the number for the desired device. 4 If the internal partner had answered, press the End call key to forward the call, or the star key to establish a 3-party conference. 5 If the internal partner does not answer, or if you want to cancel the transfer, press again. Note: - If one of the participants leaves the conference, the others remain con- nected. Alarm An active alarm is indicated in the display by the symbol. 1 Press Menu, select HS Settings and press Select. 2 Select Alarm and press Select. 3 Select On and press Select. 4 Enter the alarm time and press Next. 5 Select whether the Snooze function should be on or off and press Save. 6 When the alarm sounds, press any key to turn it off. Note: - If the snooze function is activated, the alarm is repeated at intervals of approx. 11 minutes. To turn it off completety, press the End Call key. - To deactivate an alarm, proceed as described above, then select Off in step 3.
GBMore settings Further settings are described below. You can access the corresponding function via the menu (see menu structure). Auto Answer (HS Settings) If set to on, you can answer a call by simply picking up the handset from the charger, without pressing any key. Select Base (HS Settings) If your handset is registered to different base stations (up to 4), you can select the active base station. HS Name (HS Settings) You can give the handset an individual name. LCD Contrast (HS Settings) You can adjust the display contrast. Reset (HS Settings / BS Settings) Base phone or handset are reset to the delivery state. To reset, you must enter the PIN (in delivery state 0000). Audio settings (HS Settings -> Audio Setup) Set the default handset and loudspeaker volume. You can make individual changes during a conversation with the volume keys on the side of the handset. Ringer melody and ringer volume (HS Settings -> Ring Setup) Select the ringtone and volume for internal and external calls. Notification tones (HS Settings -> Tone Setup) Turn the key tone or the tone for the range warning (handset too far from the base) on or off. BS Settings In this menu, you can deregister handsets, set the dialing method, determine the duration of the flash signal, change the PIN (in delivery state 0000) or reset the base to default. Note: If you have questions about dialing method or flash time, please contact your network operator. 26Registering a new handset You can register up to 5 handsets to your base. To do this, assign a new number to each handset that you register. The supplied handset is already registered with the number 1, appearing as 1. 1 Press the paging button on the base station for approx. 5 seconds until it flashes red / blue. 2 Now perform the necessary steps for the registration of the new handset (see respective user manual). Example D7000: 1 Press Menu, select Registration and press Select. 2 Select a base and press Select. 3 Enter the base station’s PIN code (in delivery state 0000) and press Select. Removing a handset Please note that the handset cannot be used anymore with the base. 1 Press Menu, select BS Settings and press Select. 2 Select Terminate HS and press Select. 3 Enter the current PIN (in delivery state = 0000) and press OK. 4 Select the handset that you want to remove, and press Select. 5 After a few seconds the handset is deleted.
- Read the instructions in this handbook carefully. Be sure to save it for future reference.

- Hold your handset firmly. Otherwise it may fall and be damaged.
- Do not operate the phone in an explosive atmosphere.
- Do not use the phone near water, or spill liquid of any kind on it. If you think that liquid has penetrated the phone, immediately unplug it, dry it with a soft, clean cloth and contact your dealer.
- Respect the environmental conditions. All of the parts of this equipment are designed for indoor use only. Never expose them to extremely hot or cold temperatures. Don't expose the cordless telephone to excessive vibrations or dusty, rainy places.
- Never try to disassemble or service the equipment by yourself (aside from the routine maintenance described in this manual). Doing so immediately voids the warranty, and you can cause damage requiring extensive repair work. Always contact your local dealer for assistance.
- Handle the batteries properly. Particularly, strictly follow the directions stated in this manual.
- Never use the phone with non-suitable batteries, and charge them only with the supplied base and charger. The use of any non-genuine parts can create hazards, electric shocks and other risks, and voids the warranty.
- In case of problems, please refer to this user's manual or contact your dealer and/or the nearest official service center. Every service operation not provided by official service centers voids the warranty.
- Use always good sense! Don't go on with any operations if you are not sure what you are really doing. In case of doubts please contact your dealer.
- This phone cannot be used to place calls, including emergency calls, under these conditions: during power failure, if batteries are defective or depleted, or if the keypad is locked. 28• Do not use this phone near emergency medical equipment or near people with implanted electrical devices, such as pacemakers. Additionally, radio signals between the handset and the base can interfere with hearing aids, causing strong noise. Power adapter plug The power adapter plug supplied fulfils the ecodesign requirements of the European Union (Directive 2009/125/EC). This means that, both in an operating state and in an idling state, the power consumption is considerably lower compared to power adapter plugs with an older design. Disposal In order to dispose of your device, take it to a collection point provided by your local public waste authorities (e.g. recycling centre). According to laws on the disposal of electronic and electrical devices, owners are obliged to dispose of old electronic and electrical devices in a separate waste container. The adjacent symbol indicates that the device must not be disposed of in normal domestic waste! Batteries represent a hazard to health and the environment! Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to pollute the environment. They may contain toxic, ecologically hazardous heavy metals. You are legally obliged to dispose of power packs and batteries at the point of sale or in the corresponding containers provided at collection points provided by local public waste authorities. Disposal is free of charge.
