About this operating manual

This operating manual describes how to operate and maintain your product safely. Keep this operating manual in a safe place for future reference. Intended use

• This diffuser serves to improve air quality by vaporising water to increase air humidity. The device operates using ultrasound technology and creates cold mist.
• It is designed exclusively for private use in dry indoor environments.
• The humidifier must not be used as an inhaler.

Safety

• This product may be used by children aged 8 and above, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities or lacking experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the product and understand the risks that may arise.

• The device and network adapter must be kept out of reach of children under 8 years of age.

• Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are 8 years of age or older and are being supervised.

Children must not play with the device.

• Keep wrapping and packaging material away from children. There is a choking hazard. Also pay attention that children do not pull the packaging material over their heads.

• Only use the supplied mains adaptor and replace it only with one of the same type. The mains adaptor may only be used in dry indoor spaces and must be protected from moisture.

DANGER from electricity

• The water tank of the device is filled with water. However, the device itself, the network adapter cable and the network adapter plug must not come into contact with liquids or be submerged in water or other liquids. Risk of electric shock!

• Keep the device out of reach of children and do not leave it unattended while in operation.

• Do not operate the device outdoors.

• Connect the device to a correctly installed socket that has a voltage corresponding to that described under "Technical Data".

• Make sure the power socket is easily accessible, so that the network adapter plug can be pulled out quickly if necessary.

• Do not use the device:

-if the device itself or its parts are damaged,

-if the network adapter cable or network adapter plug is damaged,

-if the device has fallen down.

• Unwind the network adapter cable completely before each use. Make sure the network adapter cable does not become damaged by sharp edges or hot objects.

Pull the network adapter plug out of the power socket:

-when you are not using the device,

-before filling it with or emptying it of water

-before cleaning or putting away the device,

-if, during operation, there appears to be interference,

-during a storm.

• Always pull by the network adapter plug, not by the cable.

• Do not modify the device or power cord. Have repairs carried out only by a specialist workshop as improperly repaired devices endanger the user.

WARNING - damage to property

• Protect the humidifier from hard shocks, shaking, direct sunlight as well as dirt and excessive moisture.

• Do not place the humidifier on hot surfaces or in the direct vicinity of electrical devices and sensitive objects.

• Fill the tank preferably with distilled water to avoid the lime scale in normal tap water. However, you can also fill the tank with fresh, cold drinking water.

• Observe the manufacturer's instructions if you would like to add aroma essences. Only use water soluble aromas.
• Operation can lead to precipitations or residues in the area of the diffuser. If necessary, place a suitable underlay under the device and keep it at a distance from electrical or sensitive devices and parts.
• Do not place the diffuser directly under a shelf or wall cupboard.
• Healthy air should have a relative humidity of 40% to 60% . Frequent use increases the air humidity and thus the risk of mould developing.
• Use only original accessories.
• Do not operate the device if there is no liquid or only very little liquid in the tank.
• Do not cover the device or operate it under a blanket or pillow.

• Keep the ventilation slots of the air intake on the underside of the device free of dust and dirt. Also do not place the device on a soft carpet. The air intake must always be unobstructed.

• The device has feet located on the underside of the diffuser. Since surfaces are made from various materials and are treated with diverse care products, it cannot be completely excluded that some of these substances contain ingredients that attack and soften the feet of the device. If necessary, place a non-slip pad underneath the device.

• Do not use aggressive chemical cleaning agents, abrasives, hard sponges, etc. for cleaning.

Ask your doctor if...

In the case of an allergic respiratory illness, you should consult with your doctor before using the diffuser. This is especially important if you want to use aroma essences.

waagen-Schmitt GmbH warrants for 2 years from the purchase date the cost-free rectification of defects in material and workmanship through repair or exchange.

In the event of a warranty claim, please return the product with the proof of purchase (specifying the reason for claim) to your dealer.

Starting up

Connecting the diffuser and network adapter

• Insert the small angled network adapter plug into the connection socket on the underside of the device. Do not insert the network adapter plug into a power socket yet.

Filling with water

NOTE on material damage

-Only use water soluble aromas.

1. Remove the lid.

1. Fill the tank with distilled water or cold, fresh drinking water using a measuring jug. If desired, add a few drops of aroma essence. Maximum filling capacity: 300 ml.

• Do not overfill the tank. Pay attention to the maximum fill level indicator around the tank.
• Do not use warm water.

• Observe the manufacturer's instructions when adding an aroma essence.

• Replace the lid. Do not operate the device without the lid being placed on top.

Making the electrical connection

-Insert the network adapter plug into an easily accessible power socket.

As soon as the device is supplied with power, a beep will sound and the device can be used.

Use

Each push of a button is confirmed with a beep.

Switching vaporisation on and off

1. Press the MIST button.
2. Select the desired time period by repeatedly pressing MIST:

1H = The device will turn itself off after an hour.

3H = The device will turn itself off after three hours.

6H = The device will turn itself off after six hours.

ON = The device operates continuously.

1. To turn off the device, repeatedly press MIST until the button lighting goes off and no more mist comes out of the nebuliser port.

Select vaporisation intensity

1. Switch on the device using the MIST button and select the desired time period.

2. Hold down the MIST button until you hear 2 beeps. The device will now operate at maximum power.

3. To reset the device normal power, hold down MIST again until you hear 1 beep.

Turn lighting on and off

The lighting and vaporisation operate independently.

1. Select the desired colour and brightness by repeatedly pressing LIGHT.
2. Switch off the lighting by repeatedly pressing LIGHT until you hear 2 beeps and the light goes off or hold down LIGHT for a few seconds.

Important usage information

Auto-stop function

• If you switch on the device with an empty tank, 3 beeps will sound.
• If the tank becomes empty during use, 3 beeps will also sound and the device will turn off automatically (as well as the light).
  In both cases, proceed as described in "Filling with water".

Accidental overturning

If the device accidentally overturns while in operation, or if it is knocked, proceed as follows to avoid malfunctions:

1. Disconnect the device from the mains power.
2. Remove the lid.

3. Remove the remaining water from the tank.

4. Hold the device over a washbasin or hand towel and shake it carefully. The underside of the device has openings from which the remaining water can drip off.

5. Allow the opened device to air dry for at least 24 hours before operating it again.

Changing the aroma essence

• Clean the device before adding another aroma essence (see "Cleaning").

After use

1. Disconnect the device from the mains power.
2. Store the device in a cool, dry place.
3. When not in use for a long time: Remove the remaining water from the device and clean it (see "Cleaning").

Cleaning

Electric shock HAZARD

• The device and the network adapter cable or network adapter plug must not come into contact with liquids or be submerged in water or other liquids.

You should clean the device after 5-6 hours of use.

1. Disconnect the device from the mains power and remove the lid.

2. Pour the remaining water out of the tank.

Proceed as shown in the illustration on the left. This prevents water from accidentally entering the air intake on the underside of the device.

1. Use a soft, damp cloth and a gentle cleaning agent to clean the tank and also the outside of the device.
2. Wipe the surfaces dry with a soft cloth.

If the tank already has a build-up of lime scale, you can use a mild descaling agent, e.g. citric acid.

1. Stir the descending agent according to the manufacturer's instructions.
2. Pour a small amount into the tank and allow the liquid to take effect for a few minutes.
3. Pour away the descending agent and rinse several times with clear water.

Make sure that no descending agent remains in the tank.

Fault/Remedy

Fault Possible cause
No function. • Connected to power?	• The tank is empty. Fill the tank with water.
Three beeps sound when switching on (no function).
Light and vaporisation stop, 3 beeps sound.	• The tank is empty. Fill the tank with water.
Poor or unusual vapour.	• Is the lid properly seated on the device? • Is the nebuliser port free? • Has the tank been cleaned properly? Check the air intake on the underside of the device.
Water splashes around the device.	• Is the lid properly seated on the device? • Low temperatures or high humidity can lead to faster condensation of the water vapour and the formation of drops.

Disposing of the packaging

Dispose of the packaging with similar materials. Dispose of cardboard with waste paper and of films with recyclable materials.

Devices must not be disposed of in normal household waste

At the end of its life, the product must be disposed of in an appropriate way. In this way, valuable materials contained in the device will be recycled and the burden on the environment avoided. Bring the old device to a collection point for electronic waste or to a recycling depot. For more information, contact your local waste disposal firm or your local administrative body.
