How to charge the battery of the GoFree Flex Pro II?

Plug the charger into a wall outlet (100-240 V), insert the battery onto the charger and turn the knob to lock it. The red LED lights up, then green indicates the end of charging. Charging time is approximately 1.5 h for the 6 Ah battery and 3 h for the 12 Ah battery.

What to do if the battery does not charge?

Check that the charger is plugged in and the outlet works. If no LED lights up, remove the battery and do not insert another. Contact ProTeam customer service at 866-888-2168.

Can I use the vacuum while charging?

No, the vacuum operates only on battery. You must charge the battery before use. The charger is designed only to charge the battery.

What is the runtime of the vacuum?

The manual does not specify the exact runtime. The battery maintains constant power until depletion. The usage time depends on capacity (6 Ah or 12 Ah) and usage conditions.

How to check the battery charge level?

INSPECTION UPON RECEIPT

Carefully unpack and inspect your new ProTeam Lithium Ion Battery and Battery Charger for shipping damage. Each unit is tested and thoroughly inspected before shipping. All returns must have a Return Authorization Number (RAN). To request a RAN or to ask questions regarding any shipping damage, contact ProTeam at 866.888.2168 or [e-mail].

This Owner's Manual has important information for the use and safe operation of the GoFree Flex Pro battery and charger. Read this manual carefully before charging batteries. Keep this manual available at all times and instruct all operators to read it before using. If instructions are not followed, an injury may occur, or equipment, furniture, or buildings may become damaged.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING

Read all safety warnings and instructions in the manual and on the battery, charger, and vacuum before using this vacuum. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, property damage and/or serious injury or death.

1. Use only ProTeam charger 107515 and ProTeam battery packs 107513 and 107637. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
2. DO NOT use charger to charge non-rechargeable batteries.
3. When charging, make sure that the charger has at least 6 inches of clearance on all sides. Adequate airflow is required to cool the charger when in use.
4. DO NOT charge batteries outdoors.
5. Connect charging cord to a properly grounded outlet only. See Grounding Instructions.
6. DO NOT leave charger plugged in when not in use.
7. DO NOT operate charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or damaged in any way.
8. DO NOT use charger if it has a damaged cord or plug. DO NOT carry charger by cord.
9. DO NOT pull on charger's cord to unplug. Grasp and pull the plug, not the cord.
10. DO NOT handle charger, including charger plug and charger terminals, with wet hands while charger is plugged in or while inserting plug into electrical outlet.
11. DO NOT use or store vacuum or batteries in wet or moist conditions, or near flammable or combustible materials.
12. When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery or charger terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
13. DO NOT use vacuum and battery pack in temperatures above 104^ F ( 40^ C) or below 50^ F ( 10^ C). DO NOT charge the battery pack in temperatures above 104^ F ( 40^ C) or below 50^ F ( 10^ C). Follow all charging instructions. Charging at temperatures outside of the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire. DO NOT store battery pack in ambient temperatures above 122^ F ( 50^ C) or below 50^ F ( 10^ C).
14. DO NOT expose battery packs to temperatures above 122^ F ( 50^ C). Never leave battery packs in automobiles on hot days, where temperatures can be much higher than the outside temperature.
15. DO NOT use a battery pack or vacuum that is damaged or modified. DO NOT crush, drop, incinerate, or damage the battery pack. DO NOT incinerate the battery even if it is non-working or severely damaged. The battery can explode in a fire. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion, or risk of injury.
16. DO NOT attempt to repair, service, or modify the battery pack or charger. Contact ProTeam Customer Service with any issues.
17. Battery pack and charger are non-serviceable and must be replaced if damaged.
18. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
19. DO NOT expose a battery pack or appliance to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 265^ F may cause explosion.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS

Violation of any of these instructions may void any and all warranties.

CHARGER GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

THE GOFREE FLEX PRO BATTERY CHARGER MUST BE GROUNDED. If the charger should malfunction or stop working, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electrical current, thereby reducing the risk of electrical shock. This unit is equipped with a cord that has an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug must be inserted in an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances. Cutting off the ground wire or using a cord that is not equipped with a ground plug will void the warranty on the unit, and ProTeam will accept NO liability associated with the unit.

WARNING

Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electrical shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you are unsure that the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the charger. If it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

The GoFree Flex Pro battery charger is for use on a nominal 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz circuit, and has a grounded plug in the US and Canada, the plug looks like the plug illustrated in sketch A in Figure AA. A temporary adaptor that looks like the adaptor illustrated in sketches B and C may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle as shown in sketch B if a properly grounded outlet is not available. The temporary adaptor should be used only until a properly grounded outlet (sketch A) can be installed by a qualified electrician. The green colored rigid ear, lug, or the like extending from the adaptor must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box cover. Whenever the adaptor is used, it must be held in place by a metal screw.

Note: In Canada, the use of a temporary adaptor is not permitted by the Canadian Electrical Code.

For Canada – This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit and has a grounded attachment plug that looks like the plug illustrated in sketch A in Figure AA. Make sure that the charger is connected to an outlet having the same configuration as the plug. No adaptor should be used with the chargers detailed in this manual.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

OPERATION

This charger is intended to recharge ProTeam Lithium Ion batteries 107513 and 107637.

WARNING

Charge in a well-ventilated area. DO NOT block charger vents. Keep them clear to allow proper ventilation.

CHARGING PROTEAM LITHIUM ION BATTERY PACKS

Lithium Ion batteries deliver fade-free power for their entire run time. The GoFree Flex Pro vacuum will not gradually lose power due to decreasing battery charge. The vacuum will perform at its normal performance level until the battery has been depleted. Once this happens, recharging of the battery is required. It is not necessary to drain the battery pack completely before recharging.

If none of the charger LEDs is lit at any point during the charging process, remove the battery pack from the charger to avoid damaging the product. DO NOT insert another battery. Contact ProTeam Customer Service with any issues.

BATTERY PROTECTION FEATURES

ProTeam 36-volt Lithium Ion batteries are designed with features that protect the Lithium Ion cells and maximize battery life. When the battery has reached its minimum voltage level the electronics will shut off the battery. Once the battery shuts off, it must be recharged.

PREPARING BATTERY PACK FOR CHARGING

1. Plug the charger's power cord into the charger (Figure A).
2. Install battery on charger as shown (Figure B) and lock in position by turning knob clockwise.
3. Plug the charger's power cord into 120V (230 V for Europe) wall outlet (Figure C).
4. The left indicator light should turn Red. The right indicator light will flash Green when charging and will stop flashing and remain Green when fully charged (Figure D). The battery pack may require approximately 1.5 hrs (6Ah) or 3 hrs (12Ah) to fully charge.

Note: Prior to charging, the battery may be in standby mode for approximately an additional hour to allow cooling.

1. Verify the charge level of the battery pack by pressing the power level indicator button on the front of the pack. (Figure E). Five Red lights indicate a fully charged battery. Remove battery from charger and unplug cord from wall outlet after charging.

OPERATION

BATTERY FUEL GAUGE

The battery fuel gauge indicates the approximate run time remaining on the battery. When the test button is pressed, one to five indicators will light up, indicating the approximate battery charge remaining (Figure F) as follows:

All 5 lights on: Full Charge

4 lights on: 80% Charge 2 lights on: 40% Charge

3 lights on: 60% Charge 1 light on: 20% Charge

MAINTENANCE

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.

BATTERIES

Battery packs for this product have been designed to provide maximum, trouble-free life. However, like all batteries, they will eventually wear out. DO NOT disassemble battery pack and attempt to replace the battery cells. Handling of these cells, especially when wearing rings and jewelry, could result in a serious burn.

To obtain the longest possible battery life:

• Remove the battery pack from the charger once it is fully charged and ready for use.
• Store the battery pack in a cool, dry location.
• It is normal for Lithium batteries to lose charge during long periods of non-use. They should be charged at least every 3 months to maintain the battery life.

BATTERY PACK REMOVAL AND PREPARATION FOR RECYCLING

Dispose of old battery in an environmentally safe way according to your local regulations. Contact your local regulatory authorities for proper transporting and disposal instructions. it is illegal in most jurisdictions to dispose of Lithium ion batteries in ordinary trash.

For 6Ah (107637) and 12Ah (107513) Batteries: Contact your local waste authority for information regarding available recycling and/or disposal options. Or contact ProTeam customer service at 866.888.2168 or [e-mail] for the latest information. In some jurisdictions Call2Recyle will accept the 6Ah/12Ah battery. Recycling your old batteries is free and easy with the Call2Recycle program.

Call2Recycle is a product stewardship program providing no-cost battery and cellphone recycling solutions across the U.S. and Canada. WARNING

Upon removal, cover the battery pack's terminals with heavy duty adhesive tape. DO NOT attempt to destroy or disassemble battery pack or remove any of its components. Lithium Ion battery packs must be recycled or disposed of properly. Never touch both terminals with metal objects, as a short circuit will result. Keep away from children. Failure to comply with these warnings could result in fire and/or serious injury or death.

LIMITED WARRANTY

This limited warranty applies to all ProTeam®, Inc. products, including, without limitation, Backpacks, Canisters, Hipstyles, Uprights, Air Movers, and Wet/Dry product lines, and certain batteries and chargers (collectively, the "products"). Specific warranty terms for certain product parts, motors, batteries and accessories are stated below.

Limited Warranty

ProTeam, Inc., located at 8100 W. Florissant Ave, Building T, St. Louis, MO 63136 ("ProTeam" or "we") warrants to the original purchaser only ("you" or "your"), subject to "Warranty Exclusions" (as applicable), that the product parts, motor, battery and/or charger identified below will be free from defects in materials and workmanship, including labor costs in connection therewith, when under normal use and service beginning on the original date of purchase and continuing for the corresponding period (each a "Warranty Period"). This limited warranty terminates if you transfer the product to any other person or entity.

What is Not Covered - Warranty Exclusions

This limited warranty does not extend to and expressly excludes:

• Normal wear and tear on the product and/or attachments and accessories including, without limitation, extension cords, hoses, filters, switches, carbon motor brushes and other vacuum attachments and accessories not specifically listed.
• Damage or burnout of the product motor resulting from failure to clear a blockage occurring during the normal course of use.

LIMITED WARRANTY

• Loss or damage to the product resulting from conditions beyond ProTeam's control including without limitation, misuse, accident, abuse, neglect, negligence (other than ProTeam's), use beyond listed capacity, or improper installation, maintenance or application.
• Unauthorized modification or alteration.
• Loss or damage to the product resulting from failure to follow the required maintenance schedule, or failure to use the product in accordance with ProTeam's written instructions, guidelines or the terms of its Owner's Manual.
• Lithium Ion Battery Charger limited warranty applies only to defects arising under normal usage. All other damages are expressly excluded.

How to Notify ProTeam

If you discover that your product has a defect that you believe is covered by this limited warranty, you must notify ProTeam or the ProTeam authorized dealer who sold you the product within the applicable Warranty Period. You may contact ProTeam Customer Service department at [phone] between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Central Time or at any time via the fax number or the email address listed in your Owner's Manual or at proteam.emerson.com. Customer service hours may vary and will be updated on the ProTeam website. In order for a warranty claim to be processed as quickly as possible, we suggest that you complete the registration card made available to you on the ProTeam website at proteam.emerson.com. If you do not complete a registration card, you will be required to present a dated sales receipt in order to receive warranty service. Warranty coverage for all products is subject to your compliance with the listed notification and repair procedures. Notification procedures for the GoFree Flex Pro backpack battery pack are set forth below.

What We Will Do to Correct Problems

ProTeam or your local ProTeam authorized dealer will determine whether your claim is covered by this limited warranty, subject to the limitations or exclusions described above, and whether the claim is within the applicable Warranty Period. For all warranty claims other than for the GoFree Flex Pro backpack battery pack, provided your claim is covered under this limited warranty, ProTeam or its authorized dealer will, at ProTeam's sole option and discretion, (a) repair or replace the defective portion of your product or (b) replace your entire product. For GoFree Flex Pro backpack battery packs, your local ProTeam authorized dealer will repair your product, ship your product to an authorized repair facility, or contact ProTeam for a replacement. If ProTeam is unable repair your product or GoFree Flex Pro backpack battery pack or provide you with a suitable replacement, you will receive a refund of your purchase price or a credit to be used toward the purchase of a new product or GoFree Flex Pro backpack battery pack. Products repaired or replaced during the Warranty Period shall be covered for the remainder of the original Warranty Period. Unauthorized repairs or modifications, or use of any parts other than genuine ProTeam parts, will nullify this limited warranty.

GoFree Flex Pro Backpack Battery Pack Notification Procedures

The GoFree Flex Pro backpack battery pack is not field serviceable and must receive special handling instructions for shipping. Contact ProTeam Customer Service at 866.888.2168 for shipping instructions and service options. A Return Authorization Number (RAN) must be issued prior to shipping a product. Please call the Customer Service department number above or visit the ProTeam website to request a RAN. If you have not submitted a completed registration card, you must include a dated, written proof-of-purchase and a statement explaining the nature of the malfunction with the RAN. If there is no local ProTeam authorized dealer, ProTeam's Customer Service department will give you the name and address of the nearest field service representative or will provide you with the RAN and instructions for shipping your product to the ProTeam repair facility.

THE LIMITED WARRANTIES PROVIDED ABOVE ARE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTIES PROVIDED BY PROTEAM TO YOU, AND ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WRITTEN OR ORAL, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WHETHER ARISING BY OPERATION OF LAW OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WHETHER OR NOT THE PURPOSE HAS BEEN DISCLOSED AND WHETHER OR NOT THE PRODUCT HAS BEEN SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED OR MANUFACTURED FOR YOUR USE OR PURPOSE. THE FOLLOWING SENTENCE APPLIES ONLY TO CONSUMER PURCHASERS: DISCLAIMERS OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL NOT TAKE EFFECT UNTIL THE END OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. No employee, agent, dealer, or other person is authorized to alter this limited warranty or make any other warranty on behalf of ProTeam. The terms of this limited warranty shall not be modified by ProTeam, the original owner, or their respective successors or assigns.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PROTEAM BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING ANY ECONOMIC LOSS, WHETHER RESULTING FROM NONPERFORMANCE, USE, MISUSE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT OR PROTEAM'S NEGLIGENCE. SELLER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES CAUSED BY DELAY IN PERFORMANCE AND IN NO EVENT, REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF THE CLAIM OR CAUSE OF ACTION (WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT,

LIMITED WARRANTY

INFRINGEMENT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OTHER TORT OR OTHERWISE), SHALL PROTEAM'S LIABILITY TO YOU AND/OR YOUR CUSTOMERS EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID BY YOU FOR THE PRODUCT. The term "consequential damages" shall include, but not be limited to, loss of anticipated profits, business interruption, loss of use or revenue, cost of capital or loss or damage to property or equipment.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State.

This limited warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, U.S.A., without regard to conflicts of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, BREACH OF CONTRACT, BREACH OF WARRANTY, CLAIMS BASED IN TORT, NEGLIGENCE, PRODUCT LIABILITY, FRAUD, MARKETING, STATE OR FEDERAL REGULATIONS, ANY CLAIMS REGARDING THE ENFORCEABILITY OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, AND THE WAIVER OF CLASS ACTION TRIALS between PROTEAM AND YOU, either party may choose to resolve the dispute by binding arbitration, as described below, instead of in court. THIS MEANS IF EITHER PROTEAM OR YOU CHOOSE BINDING ARBITRATION, NEITHER PARTY SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO LITIGATE SUCH CLAIM IN COURT OR HAVE A JURY TRIAL. DISCOVERY AND APPEAL RIGHTS ARE LIMITED IN BINDING ARBITRATION. ProTeam and You agree that the proper venue if Arbitration is not so chosen by ProTeam OR You of all actions arising in connection herewith shall be only in the state of Missouri and the parties agree to such jurisdiction. No action, regardless of form, arising out of transactions relating to the agreement, may be brought by either party more than two (2) years after the cause of action has accrued. The U.N. Convention on Contracts for the International Sales of Goods shall not apply to this agreement.

Class Action Waiver

BINDING ARBITRATION MUST BE ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. THIS MEANS NEITHER PROTEAM OR YOU MAY JOIN OR CONSOLIDATE CLAIMS IN ARBITRATION BY OR AGAINST OTHERS, OR LITIGATE IN COURT OR ARBITRATE ANY CLAIMS AS A REPRESENTATIVE OR MEMBER OF A CLASS OR IN A PRIVATE ATTORNEY GENERAL CAPACITY.

Administration of Arbitration

The binding arbitration must be administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) in accordance with its Commercial Arbitration Rules and/or Supplementary Procedures for Consumer-Related Disputes (including proceedings to mitigate costs of travel). This binding arbitration is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act (“FAA”) (9 USC §1, et. seq.) and will govern the interpretation and enforcement. The binding arbitration shall be held at a location determined by AAA or at such other location as mutually agreed. In addition to the terms stated above, the following will apply to the binding arbitration: (1) the arbitrator, and not any federal, state, or local court or agency, will have exclusive authority to resolve any dispute relating to the interpretation, applicability, enforceability or formation of this agreement including any claim that all or any part of this agreement is void or voidable; (2) the arbitrator shall apply Missouri law consistent with the FAA.
