Frequently Asked Questions - 34036 CHACON

How to install the battery in the opening detector?
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw on the front of the detector. Slide the cover down. Insert the CR2032 battery respecting polarity (+/-). Close the cover and screw it back.
How to pair the detector with a control panel?
Open the battery compartment of the control panel. Press and hold the learning button until you hear a beep. Separate the two parts of the opening detector to send a signal. A beep confirms pairing. To exit the mode, press the learning button for 3 seconds.
How many transmitters can I pair with one control panel?
You can pair up to 32 transmitters (opening detectors, motion detectors, etc.) with a single compatible Chacon control panel.
How to reset the pairing?
Remove the batteries from the alarm control panel. Press and hold the learning button on the control panel. While holding, reinsert the batteries. You will hear two beeps indicating successful reset.
What to do in case of false alarms?
Check for animals near the motion detector. In hot weather, moving shadows can cause alarms. Avoid installing the detector near a heat source (radiator). Keep devices with strong electromagnetic fields away.
The control panel does not receive the detector signal, what to do?
First check that pairing was successful. If yes, check the battery voltage of the control panel and the detector. Weak batteries can cause signal loss. Replace them if necessary.
The alarm does not trigger after detection, why?
If the low battery indicator flashes, replace the batteries immediately. Check that the unit is not in HOME mode (which disables the motion detector). Ensure the control panel is correctly installed and armed.
Can I use the detector with other control panels?
This detector is compatible exclusively with Chacon alarm control panels references: 34035, 34038, 34043, 34044, 34045, 34046, 34048. It does not work with other brands.
What batteries to use and can I mix batteries?
Use only a CR2032 battery (included). Do not mix new and used batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries. Respect polarity.
How to clean and maintain the detector?
Do not use abrasive products. Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Do not expose to water, rain, or strong light. Replace the battery as soon as the low battery indicator lights up.

0. Introduction

Thank you for using this product.

  • Please read all instructions carefully before using the product.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the product yourself, as this will invalidate the warranty.
  • In order to use this product, you must have either a simple central unit with a remote control or a remote keypad, or a central unit with a code. (Compatible references: 34035, 34038, 34043, 34044, 34045, 34046, 34048)

1.1. Battery Installation: Door Opening Sensor

CHACON 34036 - Battery Installation: Door Opening Sensor - 1

text_image Diagram illustrating three-step digital device operation: adding sound waves, adjusting a button, and clicking a mouse.
  1. Using a screwdriver, open the battery compartment of the main unit.
  2. Press and hold the learn button until you hear a «beep». The unit enters pairing mode.
  3. Separate the two parts of the opening detector to send a signal to the main unit. You will hear a «beep» sound to indicate that the pairing was successful.
  4. To exit pairing mode, press and hold the learn button for 3 seconds. You will then hear a double «beep».

NOTE: A maximum of 32 transmitters can be paired to a main unit.

3. Alarm activation mode

Two methods of synchronisation:

a) Associating the detector with a central unit with code: You just have to make the pre-registered code to activate or deactivate the alarm. (see corresponding manual)
b) Associating the detector with a classic control panel + remote control: activate and deactivate the alarm using the «on» and «off» buttons on the remote control (see corresponding manual)

NOTE: This detector is compatible with the entire range. You can therefore combine it with any device while ensuring that you have at least one central alarm unit (motion detector with or without code, opening detector with code)

4. Reset pairing

In order to reset your entire alarm, remove the batteries from your device. Then press and hold the learning button of your central unit. When you reinsert the batteries, you will hear two «beeps» indicating that the reset was successful.

5. Problem solving

  1. False alarms from the main unit

a) Check that there are no animals near the motion detector.

b) In hot weather, moving shadows may also activate the alarm. Also ensure that the detector is not installed near a radiator or heat source.

c) Check that there are no devices with strong electromagnetic fields near the door/window sensor. Strong electromagnetic fields can cause false alarms.

  1. The main unit doesn't receive a signal from the transmitter

a) Check if the pairing between the transmitter and the main unit was successful.

b) If pairing was successful, check the battery voltage of the main unit and transmitter. Low voltage will result in product failure.

  1. No alarm sounds after a detection

a) Check if the low battery indicator is flashing (please replace the batteries immediately).

b) If the unit is armed and set to HOME mode and the PIR sensor detects an intrusion, the alarm will

not sound. The PIR sensor is disabled in HOME mode. Check if the main unit is installed correctly.

6. Add a device to your existing alarm

We have created a 100% compatible alarm system to meet your needs. Here, we offer accessories that can work alone but also as a kit. This allows you to personalise your alarm and to associate several accessories but also several alarms between them. For example, when a person triggers the opening detector, all your alarms will sound. You can deactivate your alarm using the code units, remote control or the remote keyboard.
